I found Duncan to be WAY better than Hawke and Rook in terms of gun consistency, in terms of survivability, in terms of the torps being somewhat useful.

I have significantly enjoyed the Duncan vs Hawke. Duncan's 419mm slap the piss out of anyone. Very enjoyable line and looking forward to the St Vincent.

Duncan was great for me, the line as a whole is fantastic St. Vincent is one of my favorite bbs, and honestly might be my outright favorite at this point, the guns are just so crazy, the speed is awesome, torps are hilarious, stealthy, super heal, just so damn fun to play

The Duncan has been the highlight of the grind to the St. Vincent for me, and defently felt way better than the tier 8.

The st Vincent is for sure the best, but for a tier 9 bb I really enjoyed the Duncan as well. I think the super heal lends to me liking it more then the lower tier ships in this line.

Rooke was awesome, Hawke just exploded 110% of the time if you took any broadside hits, Duncan had a big citadel but somehow took wayyyyy less damage on the broadside. St Vincent just has ghost armour that thing can tank a lot of damage for a battle cruiser

I actually don’t like the guns much, feels like I won’t do any damage to broadside BBs because of the short fuse, even if they have good dispersion

@@kevinthechuker1721you my friend are greatly mistaken Ive had no problems citadeling bbs at range, and especially no issues at closer ranges. The consistency of the guns and the short fuse let you demolish people even without hitting cits The guns are some of the best of any bb line, crazy how good they are

Same here! Loved the Hawke but struggling with the Duncan! Although I did have 1 random 215k damage game...and I never get that kind of damage. Still want to get past it.

Honestly, just play Duncan like a more mobile Conq and spam HE unless you see a broadside cruiser. You have the same fire chance on the HE shells.

I'm grinding T8 Hawke right now. I wish it was more accurate. I just started playing 1,5 month ago, so not much credits etc, etc. I tend to hunt for cruisers or BBs broad side, otherwise I just do a drive-by and whimper away. I look forward to a super heal, like the other T8 Monarch have now.

Really solid line overall. Not like the german battlecruisers where there is nothing to do but suffer until you get the Rupprecht.

I actually found duncan to be better than Hawke because the shell grouping seem to be tighter. I believe it may be something to do with the 3 turrets being closer together. Also the armor is better though has a disturbing tendency of eating cits. Torp arcs are good if you're charging. I play Duncan more like a huge cruiser instead of a battleship... or playing like Nelson in tier 9 fights... (i.e. kiting a lot) and it works out very well.

I don't understand. I've had the exact opposite experience with this line. Found Rooke pretty average, Hawke miserable and Duncan really amazing. I remember using blue economic boosters on the line until I hit the Duncan and then switching to greens cuz I enjoyed it so much.

I liked the Vincent and the Hawke, wasn't a great fan of the Duncan. Love the line's accuracy. Nicely balanced with squishiness.

Duncan is insanely good. I found that it was probably my most accurate bb with insane survivability. Its literally the t10 at t9. It has 419s btw. (You should have noticed you have yamato gun sounds no?) Im actually going to go out and say this ship is borderline OP for its tier.

I actually quite liked Duncan over Hawke. The torp angles are fantastic, and the HE is honestly too tempting to not use. I tend to prefer AP, but the HE can really melt bow in ships that your torps can finish off. It performed better than Pommern for me in tier 9 Brawls as well.

I think Duncans biggest issue is the matchmaking it gets. While, in theory, you can face Tier 7, I found that 9/10 Duncan games I got were Tier 9-X, and half of them had Tier 11 as well, and then you just suffer. The upgrades are minimal compared to the Hawke, or at least not as pronounced as the changes in the opponents you face.

i have always frustrated when fighting these new British BB line (i havent touch the tech tree yet), because the non-stop HE spam made me turn to kite if these BB appear on my flank, and yet the team always blame me for not being present on the flank. I have no idea that this line actually pretty frustrating to grind too.

I really hate that Duncan just feels like a terrible ship to play, while Vincent is one of the best ships in the game, purely due to how Duncan’s citadel is stupidly big. Vincent’s citadel is also sizeable but not nearly as big, while with Duncan it felt like I was being citadelled at every angle every time a battleship hit me. I didn’t even have that problem with the Rooke either.

I'm actually surprised at your dislike. I actually had a game in it that outscored my previous hi dmg in the Bourgogne. Like the German BCs you can't push hard until later, but I loved this as compared to the Hawke. Albeit, I've liked all the Brit BC line.

I agree with you, I didn't really care for the Duncan. Much more enjoyable playing playing the lower (Hawke/Rooke) and St. Vincent

I love the Duncan. I don't think its as good at 9 as the Hawke is at 8 or Vincent at 10 but it is still very strong. I really dislike battleship play and this is the first line that I have enjoyed playing.

Love your vids; but I noticed something... You're Shooting AP WAY TOO MUCH in this ship..... HE should be shot a whole lot more than the AP; like 80% HE/20% AP.... I saw that you kept shooting AP into the angled Marl..... why? Just use the HE; then switch when he turned out... also, you did the reverse with the Alaska.... he was pushing out with no care (probably a wallet warrior) and you had HE loaded...... could have devstruck him.....

Eww, I hated the Hawke. Couldn’t manage to have any good games in it. I didn’t like the Duncan either. I think I just don’t enjoy squishy “battleships”. I don’t know if it was because I started playing it like a damn cruiser or because of the super heal, but I did find myself being much more effective in the Duncan than the Hawke.

during the weekend i had the most frustrating battle on the Duncan. A Schroder brawled against me and nuked me. To his merit, he was well angled, but the Duncan shells were bouncing and overpening everything. I tryed several spots on the front of the Schroder, but i would get a 2-3k salvo. NOT FUN AT ALL
