It was a complete joy to listen to Avinash and as just like you, I too am a fan of his acting skills, so your parts felt like I was talking to him and reacting to whatever he was sharing. 🙂 I loved both him and you equally in this interview ❤. Coming to LM, I think the movie resonated so much with the audience from Kashmir as, for once, Kashmir was shown as a genuinely, lived in geographic location (and not just a pretty backdrop), and not as a militarised, fetishised place. The movie also didn't misrepresent the state's people. Hence Kashmiris watch the movie when they miss Kashmir because it shows them their city, their home and their people. And not non-Kashmiris' ideas of Kashmir. Hope the next interview happens super soon, and in that, please ask him about Bambai Meri Jaan. Not only he was phenomenal, but show was terrific too. The topic of the show is so overpopulated, and yet what an impact the show made!! In serious awe of Shujaat and his team.

I might be an odd one out but his take on pay is paradoxical. It is heartening to see that he appreciates that actors are over rated but as soon as conversation shifted to pay, he preferred sticking to preserving the hegemony of 'visible faces' of cinema. In the same breath, it is not to criticise him but merely to state that mainstream conversations will always have immense potential of violence for invisibles, creating an abyssal line.
