While in Washington maybe you'll enjoy some of the local produce. They grow some amazing chickpeas, black beans, lentils and split peas. Lentils aren't for everyone but the others are generally mildly flavored and since they store indefinitely they are compatible with van life. We keep several pounds in our RV at all times. (They sprout too so always have the option of something green to eat)

Mmmm lentils. They make a great meat substitute in Shepherds Pie. Cook 'em up, seasoned well, then bottom layer them for the pie. I pan fry corn kernels in butter, s&p for the next layer, then top with tons of mashed potatoes. I was thinking about lentils as a beef substitute in Chili too. Anywayyyyy, another fun video.

@@Ray-Willey Clear Creek brand and Palouse brand sells these items and they are grown in the upper northwest. WA, ID, MT, OR I believe. I love the black beans and chickpeas. Amazing. Since they don't come from overseas or otherwise cross a border they aren't irradiated and therefore they will sprout. Not that all beans or seeds from outside the US won't sprout but chances are better when you buy locally that A) the product is fresher B) it will not travel as far to get to you and C) it will still be alive and thus contain enzymes or will sprout

Hannah, I really admire you and Isabel a lot.
