Whoo! First game time! That is very clever to simplify it down to just needing cards. Aladdin in space? Fascinating. Murder at Spindle Manor has the kind of cover that would make me pick it up. Interesting imagery. Are they new cards? They do have a tendency to stick together. You might want to spend some time riffling them to really mix them and get the oils from your hands on them to help them not stick. (Or ignore all of that if they aren't. The universe probably just wanted to mess with you. Haha). Oof. That is a lot for the month... At least for me it would be. I hope they turn out to be good reads for you.

Quick question. So at the beginning of the game you said that if you draw a king and the house draws a king then the house wins because the house always wins. So then shortly later both you and the house pull a seven and then you redrew. Shouldn't the house have automatically won? Or does that only affect when you draw double Kings since it's wild?

It only happens in the case of both myself and the House drawing a King! I suppose my thinking was that this made the King unique, as no redraws can happen in that instance compared to other numbers. With that said, I am not opposed to making the game that much harder by saying all ties go to the House...hmm I will have a think on that! Good question, Susan!

When you were explaining the kings you said two kings would go to the house, but when you tied without kings it didn't automatically go to the house. Was that intentional? Although I like the suggestion someone else has already made that you pull a trump suit at the top of the game and then if there's a tie the trump suit (if present) wins.

Also, if you're interested in what happens to spaces where humans have disappeared I read Islands of Abandonment a couple years ago and thought it was quite interesting. The author visits areas that, for a variety of reasons used to have humans but are no longer very populated. The book feels a little repetitive aroubd 70% but the last chapter really makes it work.

Prob not important but... if the king trumps everything, isn't it just... the high card? How is it a wild card, if it just beats the queen? Or does it do something else that I missed?

@@laughsoharditssilent There are a couple minor differences, but I’m still playing with the rules: 1) If the House gets a King, that card doesn’t get discarded. It gets reshuffled back into the House’s deck to potentially pop up again. 2) Any other tie face off leads to redrawing, but with two kings, the result is final. If you have any suggestions to make it more special, I’m all ears! 🤗
