I work at a lumber mill 5 days a week. Went from the danner moc toe to thorogoods a few months ago and miss my danners

@@evgrin1507 damn sorry to hear that. I think danners are THEE best looking moc toes but my boss has them and he said they are already falling apart 2 years later. I would definitely buy me some bull runs if I was gonna baby then and only wear them out on like date night or whatever but hey bro if they are great for you, sell your thorogoods on Facebook and use the money for some new danners!

Getting 2 years out of any boot is crazy.

@@evgrin1507not to me I'm an electrician and I know guys who have had their thorogoods and redwings resoled multiple times and have like 5 + years on them. What's the point of even buying a boot over 200 if you're not going to resole then and try to get your money's worth

I’ve never actually had any of my Boots resoled.. hiking through the mountains of Northern California dropping timber does a number on any boot. I wouldn’t say they’re shot at 6 months but given the odor my boots tend to emit I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving them to anyone to work on . The thorogoods have worked great this winter for me but the fit just isn’t as nice as my Danners. Danners are a much lighter weight boot. Good for 100 degree summer days. It’s rained 6” in the last 24 hours here tho. I’ll be in my bogs until further notice 🫡

@evgrin1507 alright man well good luck I'm sorry you gotta drop like 600 a year on boots

Worked in plants and construction for years. They’re indestructible and beautiful but they are heavy as you can get. At the end of the day I was more fatigued than when I wore a lighter boot.

@@jayedwards469 did you wear steel toe? Cuz my Carolinas are crazy heavy and use almost the same exact material but are steel toe and I think that makes a huge weight difference

too heavy of a boot for me
@tyleredwards938221 сағат бұрын
@@nimblejack people keep saying this and I'm just curious what you guys go for. My Georgias I used to buy before they discontinued were marginally lighter and I was a wolverine guy before that which I'm convinced they are made of lead and weigh WAYYY more. So put me up on game. Who do you go with for light boots. I do kinda want a pair that's a clean good looking moc Toe that's super light so I can just wear them out on dates with the wife and hanging with the boys.
@nimblejack21 сағат бұрын
@@tyleredwards9382 honestly the problem is probably more personal because I'm a size12.5 and 175 lbs - Georgias feel heavy too but less than the TGs
