It's great to see you play one of my favorite game. there some tips for the new and returning players: -Healing is practically useless as any wound caused by a zombie could be fatal and level in healing (as of now) only make your bandage stay clean for longer and not make you heal faster. -sheet rope slowly degrade over time (like need to replace them every other week) and have the tendency to be targeted by wandering zombie making them a bad entrance/exit to your base. -Tv show start at 6000 (cooking), 1200 (carpentry) and 1800 (survival skills) for the first 5 day, I would recommend to at least see the carpentry one as it's the skill you'll need the most. -Alarms are purely random but will always activate when you expect it the least. they stop working when the blackout start. -Water and electricity stop between the first and 30th day independently of each other. -getting overweight of obese will reduce your max fitness to 9 and 8 respectively. -Gun will always bring more zombies than you have ammo. -And the boredom stat of your guy get reset the moment he start to panic aka seeing a zombie, so it's best to keep book for dealing with depression and not boredom.
@352MoneyManАй бұрын
+1 Firearms are useless unless you have the skill. Shotguns are great for clearing an area and are good for low skill. Boredom starts to rise the second you are not in combat and are inside a building and will continue to rise which will cause unhappiness.

The most important difference between the difficulties is Survivor/Builder multi-hit is enabled where as Apocalypse it is disabled while you are re-learning the game playing with multi-hit is fine but playing without forces you to learn the ins and outs of combat much faster I highly recommend using the workshop mod "More Description for Traits" by Champy it tells you EXACTLY what traits do even showing very mild effects that some traits give that you wouldn't think of otherwise
@hungphan5089Ай бұрын
Re: Your character's traits Very Underweight is a perk for masochists. 50% less melee damage and very low endurance mean you shouldn't seek fights for the first two weeks or so. Cat's Eyes are kinda redundant to me (?), maybe since I never venture out when it's dark (unless I'm using mods of some sorts). the hidden treasure here is it gives you extra forage radius, which makes your character detects stuff on the ground faster when in foraging mode. Outdoorsman is cool, cause you can walk freely in the rain, soaking wet without even catching a cold. also you get to navigate through trees with a much lower chance of getting scratched/tree branches poking holes in your clothes, and some foraging bonuses too. Fast Reader: the player base is divided. some say quick reading helps you save time and get XP boosts earlier, while some say you can just speed up time. it's up to you, Prebuilt, to assess this perk. Wakeful: if you can organise your daily activities well enough, this is just the thing you need. faster recovery from tiredness and can quickly wake up to react to zomboids banging on doors. this perk will be most useful with the Security Guard profession, where you virtually need no sleep at all, but having it will help you get more done in the morning. Graceful: for the sneaky ninja. the perk to go to if you choose to quickly rumble through residential kitchens, storefronts or performing sneak kills with Short Blade weapons. effects can be amplified with Nimble. My overall rating for these random traits and the Doctor profession: 7/10. First Aid skills can be levelled up quite easily, but high levels of First Aid will help you use medicines more efficiently. Utilising knives, which cost virtually zero stamina to use, is a good strategy for Very Underweight characters. however it would take a considerable amount of time to get this mess of a healthcare worker up to fighting shape for larger towns e.g Muldraugh and West Point.
@352MoneyManАй бұрын
Some of this is incorrect. Very underweight only takes about 2 days to get rid of, more if you don't eat often enough. The bad part of being underweight is the less fitness, because being at 3 will "automatically" give you underfit which makes your fitness awful - you can take fit trait with being very underweight though. Wakeful does not changed how much sleep you need, it changes how long it takes for you to become sleepy - this also changes exertion. The purpose of nimble changes how fast you move while in combat mode, Did you mean lightfoot? First aid is useless for 99% of the game. Doctor profession is the weaker version of burger flipper, however it does changed the starting location as burger flipper tends to start you in a small mobile home while doctor almost always starts you in a big rich house.

@@352MoneyMan oh right, thanks for the addition. I was writing this wall of text as I tried to stay awake, which made it look like gibberish to guys with more play time than me (I got 302 hr). RE: Water/Electricity I believe the default setting is 0-30 days for shutoff. There's also a helpful setting to turn on for anyone wanting to pick this game up and struggling with zombies, ..I believe it's called Aim Outline? It normally only shows up with firearms, but you can set it to be on for any weapon and it helps dramatically increase your ability to handle multiple zombies- especially if you're playing with default settings where you can only hit one zombie at a time. Edit: I actually stopped just listening and look at the video and it appears that IZ has the setting on, but still, it's a useful bit for new players. Swinging too early/late can be a death sentence as well as hitting the wrong target in melee.
@hungphan5089Ай бұрын
Re: RE: Water/Electricity I'd also add that new players disable water/electricity cutoff. regarding other vanilla settings for the world, the Helicopter event could be a sweet surprise if anyone wasn't prepared too. another game (not Sandbox) option I suggest for new players is to unbind the Q key. it's not the abbreviation of Quiet by any means.
@NightshadeDtАй бұрын
@hungphan5089 I worry it screws with the learning curve, but its certainly a good option for people to be aware of. I enjoy making the game challenging, but fun should always be the goal, and it can certainly be frustrating with those kind of surprises. The keybind is a great suggestion for everyone. Im very much an advocate of moving it, not just removing it, though.

Very cool to see this pop up on your channel! And not because I, too, am absolutely over playing 7DTD. I think your character is solid and you've got an excellent start going. The crowbar is (IMO) the best melee weapon in the game because it has so much durability. If you can get a generator and an extra fridge you're set for food until Spring just with looting. The hard part always seems to be finding the generator magazine. Roasting or baking pans allow you to make meals with meats, pots allow you to make soups/stews. I'm looking forward to seeing how you handle the helicopter....

Over 800 hours here. Build 42 just launched unstable so not sure how much as changed.. First aid only changes the durability of bandages (clean to dirty) - does nothing to healing speed. Very underweight is better than obese and is a great negative trait but is harsh early. Cats eyes is good but less noticeable since the lighting update. Dextrous is great. Fast reader allows you to read books between the tv shows for further xp gain within those skills, otherwise just speed up time. Wakeful is considered by most to be the most useful trait in the game. It does not changed how much sleep you need, but extends the time before you become sleepy. Graceful is good, sound is what attracts zeds.

as far as cooking with a sauce pan. it first has to have water. after that I think you need to have either rice or pasta to put in it then you can add other items to make better food. frying pans or griddles are a bit easier as you can just add meat or veggies to it then cook it. if you end up finding fresh veggies and you have a bowl you can make a salad or fruit salad. you can keep adding things and it will give you more food, help with boadom and sadness. I think you can only add like 5 or 6 items before it no longer gives you the option. but there are spices as well that help with boardom and sadness. I also believe it gives the food more calories to help add weight. the food as well as many of the skills on here can be hard to understand how they work. oh you always have to start with the pot or pan to make better food. you can also cut up things like the ham or bread with a knife. I have a decent amount of hours in the game but to me everyone plays different. how I play isnt always how other play. so I always say have fun and play how you want. enjoy

Devouring every food item you can find will infact increase your bodyweight but always remember that rapid fluctuations in weight can have adverse health effects. Whether gaining OR losing. Always consult a doctor before ramming a tub of ice cream, a jar of peanut butter, a whole entire squid and 2 liters of orange soda product into your stomach. Frankly the 6000 or so calories involved in that would be the least of your worries that shit just isn't gonna stay down.

I always take smoker. It's an easy way to gain sorely needed points and a long as keep an eye out for cigarettes while looting is easy Eh. Maybe for someone that's relatively new to the game first aid could serve some kinda purpose if you are the kinda person that gets demoralized by dying a lot (you're gonna die a lot regardless). Lumberjack, fireman, and veteran are amongst the best options
@352MoneyManАй бұрын
You only need 1 cig a day, sometimes zombies carry them but the best place for them is the gas stations, sometimes you get hundreds at a time! First aid doesn't change healing rate, only how long bandages take to become dirty
@warrenlanham9088Ай бұрын
@352MoneyMan yeah the reason I mentioned first aid (possibly) heaping a newb keep from dying as much is I just don't see them keeping up with the ridiculous quantity of bandage changes... especially since they're gonna get wounded constantly lol. One of the funniest things about watching newbs play for me is watching them bust a window with nothing in their hands and then absolutely freak out Wenger they realize they're bleeding..... then jump through the window without removing the glass..... and freak out again🤣
@352MoneyManАй бұрын
@@warrenlanham9088 But most people don't actually use the quality bandages, they just rip up some shirts and carry tons of ripped sheets. People tend to use quantity over quality, Iz had 15 ripped sheets he was always carrying, keeping those clean is useless

Build review. Very underweight is bad because it has some hidden debuffs, underweight is much better, first aid is useless because, as you said, one bite is game over. All other traits except for gracefull and fast reader is meta. Fast reader is ok.

also running around without pants is meta right now, just letting you know
@Zephyranthes-23Ай бұрын
Very Underweight is technically a MUCH worse trait to pick over obese, since gaining and maintaining calories is a pain for quite a while early game, and it gets very debilitating once you go down a certain weight... but hey, I'm all for it. I enjoy watching how people play the game their way. I'm honestly and pleasantly surprised you didn't go sprinters for the full masochistic experience lol. At the end of the day, it all really depends on what you want to do on your run and the end goals you set for yourself, since like 7dtd, your end game is pretty much just dying (or getting bored late game). Glad to see you pick the game, PB.

Having never played it some elements seem a bit clunky, but what could you expect from a game which has been in early access for 10 years? I can't imagine any kind of zombie game which has been in early access for 10 years - how can this even exist?
