I think what’s kinda crazy is that so little players really get invested and crack open the potential into playing or even trying out Steven just cause of the media and personality behind him. It’s similar to how Reindog gets left out a lot cause it’s so hard to make him interesting without voicelines, little personality, or any media to flesh out the character.

One of the things that make Steven so intresting is that you mostly make upp combos on the fly because he doesnt have many actual combos

10:06 i think i might understand why he do that. He put the shield down, then use watermelon steven, but he also use neutral special right? The lazer thing. So people would have to jump over that shield or destroy it to approach him, and if they do that he would have a advantage becuz his lazer is up. But if they dont approach, he will guarantee that watermelon steven is alive.

Another thing added to all that its also smart to do 70 - 80% damage first then use watermelon steven most players tend to spazz out since there so much going on

7:40 im a steven main and usually i don't watermelon off rip because some people like to go for an immediate attack and you don't always get it off. also it heals 5 health every time you use it so i like to take at least a little damage first to make use of that. 17:33 steven's side special will give an ally armor if it passes through them, this includes watermelon steven although the effect doesn't visually show.
