This is currently my marathon shoe. I have my marathon PR in it and will be used in my marathon next week. My previous PR was in the Metaspeed Sky Tokyo, 4 marathons ago. The 2 marathons in between were in the Endorphin Pro 3. For me the Elite was really comfortable, as comfortable as the Sky Tokyo. The EP3 was too soft and “wobbly” as the marathon wore on. But the firmness of the Elite was consistent throughout. One similarity between the Sky Tokyo and Elite vs the EP3, that I found, was that the plate location looks to be lower on the EP3 (think Metaspeed Edge Paris). This might be the “softness” I didn’t like but many do. So yes, individual comfort is king, so for me it’s higher plated ones by my experience.

Best marathon shoe (IMHO). I ran my P.R in the NYC Marathon with that shoe, 18 minutes faster than the previous marathon that I ran with the Nike Vaporfly 2. It is just so amazingly comfortable and feels so effortless for running long distances.

Found the Metaspeed Sky/Edge+ way firmer and more harsh. The Endorphin Elite is a firmer super shoe but not harsh IMO and softer than those for sure. Find the firmness similar to the Edge Paris or maybe a tad firmer.

I thoroughly enjoy the Saucony Endorphin Elite, but out of the shoes I own, I'd pick the Vaporfly 3 for the full marathon solely for the comfort in the later portion of the race. In saying that, I'd pick the Endorphin Elite's for a half marathon any day of the week.

Great video thanks! I’m a huge fan of Saucony. I have been running with the endorphin pros but thinking of taking leap to the elites for race day. What’s the difference with elite 2 vs. 4’s? Also have you ever done a review on the Mizuno wave flash, and Mizuno rebellion pros. They seem pretty same level as these shoes. Pretty nice.

I dont understand this😅 the Only Racing Shoe thats firm for me is the Metaspeed Sky+ Give the Elite a little Break in it also has a Break in Period (same as Adios Pro 3) it also needs a little Break in. But after that this Shoes Adios and Elite a crazy Good and my no means firm.

I don't understand why the Saucony Elite should be "firm". I think the "hardness" is just right, not too soft and not too hard. The only super shoe that was too "firm" for me is the Asics Metaspeed Sky + . Most of them are actually too soft for me. Adios Pro 3 and Saucony Elite are perfect in "softness"

Connection: O.J. wore Spot-Bilt cleats, like Saucony a brand of Hyde Athletic Industries at the time, and even had a job with them, or a job title at least, after his football career. i completely agree with your assessment. i found the shoe to be not so forgiving, stiff, rigid, and uncomfortable. i had to cut my 18 mile long run to 15 miles because the shoe felt like i had no protection and after a while, each foot stroke felt like a hammer hitting my feet. i think for me this shoe is too advanced. maybe this shoe is more geared for elites or sub elites or those folks that are in the sub 240 marathon category. i run 730 mile and felt the ride was unforgiving and harsh over time especially for the long run. i chalked this shoe as not even a long run shoe.

Good test..it took me less than 5 minutes to get it off my feet and sent it back..it is way harder than the pro and the upper is very sloppy, similar to Adidas..actually it's just about the same overall as the Adidas adios shoe...for me the rocket x2 is very deceptive about the speed you are pushing..most comfortable racing shoe I ever used..as a side,I changed the pro4 insole for a pro3 insole and it changes the way the pro4 runs at race pace..my guess is the HG is responsible for the harshness of the elite cos it comes thru the insole and why most people don't like that shoe..another great video..I race the rocket x2 every weekend and use them for long runs..good at any pace for me..

A while ago, when I heard this shoe + superblast (feels quite mushy after 100km) + boston 12 were on the firmer side, I thought I would probably not like them because I don't like the firmness (groundfeel) of lower stack shoes. But I was wrong !!! yeah the midsole of these shoes might be on the firmer side (at least before break-in) but, counter intuitively, as a result of that firmness, there is less compression and less groundfeel ... so over longer distances, they protect my feet better than shoes with softer foams (like Vaporfly) ... also these firmer foams are more stable so it's a win win! But well, I raced 5Ks in Vaporflys, AF1 and Endorphin Elite and I got very similar results .. still my preference is AF1 since I got my PBs in them. These Endorphin Elite remind me of Prime X Strung but wider, more stable and lighter so better shoe!

I got the Kinvara Pro and have around 250km in them. They are in the category of "super trainers" - but dont feel like that at all. The first 30km I was kinda disappointed, super stiff, very firm and the speedroll is not that noticeable. After around 50km that shoe really grew to me. It broke in nicely... still firm, but a protective firmness, its also super amazing if you are a heavier runner. So ye, it is a plated daily trainer, but far from being a race day shoe or a speed workout shoe. Its not plush and spongy at all, but you also have no ground feeliing, your feet are on a well protected cushioned plateau, but on the frmer end of cushioning (very end). Its just a massive block of PWRRUN Midsole similiar to the old ride and guide models, and then you have a small layer of PWRRUN PB (Endorphin Pro) and the PWRRUN+ sockliner (Triumph20-21). Comfortable and not hard or "hammering" your legs... but definitely a firmer shoe. Durabilty is kinda nice so far, minimal wear. The Kinvara Pro became my "no clue what I should run in today shoe", it can do everything but is not very good at anything particular. Edid: For full retail price I think its a very bad shoe... I got it for 130 and like it very much. The question is... Kinvara Pro vs Superblast... Superblast does everything better, but is less stable. The Kinvara is almost a stability shoe.
