Westie I've got your back on this one too, I have some valuable info that can make the gun feel a bit better ^^ First off, you don't need the commando foregrip at all, you can swap it out for the 30 round mags. Second, this is probably personal preference but I prefer a lower zoom optic on the Oden like the Solozero mini reflex or something, the bounce is distracting with higher zoom and makes me lose focus on the target unless I'm mounted. Alternatively, if you have a blueprint that makes the iron sights a lot cleaner which is I think most of them, you can choose to change the gun into a close to mid range AR as a sniper secondary by swapping out the optic for the ADS stock (be warned, stippled grip tape is useless on this gun, don't bother with it). There are limits to how fast you can make this gun, but for the build you were already using, in my opinion the 30 round mags go a long way towards making the gun a lot more comfortable to use, and actually, if you want to optimize your mobility, the 25 round mags penalties are pretty much non existent, it adds a pitiful 8 MS to ADS and 0.3% to movement speed. Oh and one more thing, not related to the Oden. even though the VLK 3.0 Optic reduces both horizontal and vertical recoil, because of the higher zoom, on PC it ends up not making a difference, because the increased zoom roughly cancels out the recoil reduction relative to how much distance you actually have to pull your mouse down, so I would only recommend looking at the VLK 3.0's recoil affecting properties for guns that desparately need horizontal control. Honestly and counterintuitively, the Oden works best at close to mid range in my experience, and should be built for faster ads. Monolithic suppressor, 30 round mags, VLK, Tac Laser, and Commando Foregrip. Works for my play style, best at medium ranges but yeah not the most meta gun in any respect.

had the same experience, if you build it for ads it can be a true a monster. But i put Red dot or holo on it instead of vlk and a grip instead of 30 round. But i use this only in Solos, so 20 rounds are enough i think.

Try the "Black Asp" blueprint, if you remove the optic you get a different and very good iron sight. You gain an additional slot this way, it can be used either for stippled grip tape or the CQC stock for ADS. You should give it a try

I would suggest trying it with no barrel attachment and only a monolithic suppressor. The oden isn't a normal AR it already has a ton of range so you should instead focus on speeding up your ads time. Then because you have a spare attachment slot I'd run slight of hand or 25 round mags. Love the vids westie keep it up!!

For the oden, swap the commando for 30 round mags. You already have enough recoil reduction with the chunky suppressor and long barrel. Use it as your long range option with a smg/shotgun secondary. The way you have kitted it out and used the HDR with it is like using the grau+archangel with HDR. You have to adjust for the slower fire rate. It is a gun that rewards accuracy. Also, please make a video on the SOCOM M4

Oden was my first gold gun. My set up is tac laser, 420 barrel, colossus suppressor, 30 mag, Monocle reflex sights. This is a run and gun type of class good for short to medium ranges. For longer range fights, swap the clip for a ranger foregrip to increase ads, recoil, and stability

Try to use just the semi automatic firing mode for the oden. You'll find that the recoil is even easier to control and easier to hit more accurate shots. Plus pulling the trigger fast makes it shoot just as fast.

Here’s the deal with the Oden, forget about the speed of aim down sights. The best attachment for this gun other than the colossus suppressor is the sniper scope. For close engagements, if you have to react quickly, hip fire instead of aiming down the sights. The oden is surprisingly good when hip firing. Don’t worry about improving the recoil, you’d probably melt the player before this gun strays too much. So, forget about speeding up this gun, use it like a sniper, an auto-fire sniper.

As a guy who level up all my guns in warzone, I can only advice you to run Oden as an DMR with an smg. Also one small thing that I found out just for Oden. Try using it in semi-auto mode, treat it as a long range FAL, it becomes much more controlable and still devastating. Love your videos

I have tried all the oden setups that you can think of and the most effective setup I found is a close range "jack hammer build" that I came up with. Muzzle: Big supressor Barrel: Nothing Under barrel: merc fore grip Optic: iron sights (you need a blueprint with the "good" ironsights. I use the carbon bear) Laser: tac laser Ammo: biggest magazine Stock: ads speed attachment Rear grip: nothing This setup is made for medium close and mid range. So you will need a gun like the mp7 to fill in the close range gap. Also you will have to ignore all long range targets. (note If you can manage the recoil you can trade the merc for either commando or stippled grip tape for even snappier handling)

The real issue with the Oden is that unless you are planning to shoot it semi auto/tap fire, even just 2 or 3 shots jump wildly at any range. If you are putting that much in at long range, I'd just use a sniping rifle. However, if you run it CQC, and know how to use a shotgun, it only takes a few shots on point to win. The fire rate doesn't matter if your shots are connecting because the complete body and head ttk ranges are some of the absolute lowest in the game. You plan on using it like a shotgun, kit it to eliminate recoil, and just connect a few shots and you find it extends like a shotgun at AR range. The issue then is getting the ADS and sprint to fire down, which are tradeoffs with the recoil.

I use the same build for a long time now - It can really shred especially at long range (I sometimes switch to single fire) BUT you do need to hit them shoots. Still I love this rifle sooooo much. O and I try to combine it with MP7

Okay, so I started using the MG-34 after your previous video about it. I thought that the gun would be terrible...but it smacks in Warzone. I had to play around for a while on the build, but I think I finally ended up with a good build. Try this out: Monolithic suppressor, FSS Brute barrel, tac laser, commando foregrip, and 100 round magazine The reload is killer (you could trade out the magazine for sleight of hand), but this gun destroys in Warzone. The iron sights on the Brute barrel are much clearer than the standard barrel, so I sight is not necessary. You could take off the foregrip and put a sight on like the VLK if you wanted. But the combination of the Brute barrel and foregrip make this thing easy to control with an insane rate of fire and TTK. This gun is better than the new FiNN...but don’t tell anymore 🤫

The quicker oden loadout is very fun and no one tries it. Monolithic, factory 730, Tac laser, 30 mag, stippled grip tape. It is SO fun short- mid range. It handles very well and catches people by surprise. Does a job long range when mounted still. Worth a go!

You probably don’t need both the barrel AND the suppressor. The Colosus alone is 3x the boost in stats from the monolithic. So maybe you can take out the barrel and replace for ADS assistance. And to compensate for the medium range you could switch for the Holographic to reduce ADS while still getting some additional zoom in ADS. You built it for super long range and that doesn’t always happen in Warzone. Not to mention you have an HDR secondary. So you have two long range weapons which limits how you can engage. So either you build the ODIN for long range and have an smg secondary, or you can keep the HDR for long range if you reduce the Orin’s reach.

Use the Oden for close to mid range, counter intuitive I know. Take off the colossus suppressor, and put on the stippled grip tape. Change the barrel to the close range one, and give it a GI mini.

I would say it's closer to being a DMR than that of a AR with those 2 range extending barrel and muzzle setups. Also both give high recoil benefits so maybe swap the foregrip for the extended magazine. Or to make more mobile drop the barrel for the extended magazine. So maybe a shotgun or SMG as it's paired weapon for closer ranged interactions could work.

I use almost the exact same loadout, but knowing that it fires slow anyway, i treat it like a FAL or marksman rifle. I switch it to semi-auto fire and pace my shots. That way you get that laser accuracy when you need it a distance. I love it.

I know I'm late to the party but i play oden on a regular basis. My tip would be to change the barrel to 30mag or SoH (whatever you prefer). The colossus sup already helps with range and recoil. The barrel adds too much ads time to justify running it in combination with the colossus. Another fun class setup is changing to compensator. Really helps alot with recoil without increasing ads alot. I usually run oden in combination with a smg. Hope to have helped out!

Oden is one of my favourites. Trick is to always make sure you put yourself in the situation for it. If you place back a bit and look for a mounting point that’s when it becomes deadly. Same with the SCAR. If you build it similarly to the Oden it absolutely rips through people. Couple of my fave guns for games when you want something different

If you use the BLACK ASP blueprint it has a very good iron sight. Then I would use colosus suppressor, 810 barrel, merc (i find recoil with commando less controllable and more random), tac laser, 30 round mags. As much as I love the gun it doesn't compete but if I am bored with the meta I always gravitate to this gun. (Sorry if I made a mistake I am not a native speaker)

Colossus Suppressor, Factory 810mm barrel, Ranger Fore Grip, VLK Optic, and Granulated Grip Tape. That's the optimal build and pair it with a MP7 so you have a secondary weapon with 60 rounds in the mag. You don't need the TAC Laser because you're going to use the Oden at medium and long range engagements, so the ADS isn't necessary. The ranger fore grip and the granulated grip tape give you accuracy and control which makes it possible to auto fire it when necessary. I definitely think you'd like it a lot more if your pair it with a SMG over a sniper rifle.

I haven't used this gun a whole lot, but I've learned more bullets are usually better. Try taking off the laser or barrel and move towards a bigger mag. Run with an SMG if you want close quarters and run amped. I think that might be better for a more aggressive style.

Remove laser and go 30 rounder, primary long range use Oden and pick a shotgun or smg for close range cleanup. Been running Oden alot, and for trio/squads you need the 30 rounders, you also need a close range gun for building clearing or pushing unless you're 100% confident in your aim, hitting all your shots, cause 1 missed shot is your death vs smg/shotguns

I'm an Oden main and have 18k kills with it. Tried every setup you can imagine with it. The setup your using is close to what I use, I use SOH instead of tac laser and the ADS stock instead of Commando Foregrip. The oden should be single fired at long range, mount up if you want to full auto at a long range. Honestly though, the Oden needs a slight buff, the recoil is way too severe as well as the ADS time and handling. Also if anyone wants to make use of it in Multiplayer. My loadouts are 810/tac/stippled/Ads stock/Soh for medium size maps. Comp/420/tac/stippled/Soh for Tiny maps.

You basically don't have ads with this gun so drop the tac laser and put the recoil rear grip on and put the better recoil front grip on as well. Also you could benefit from dripping the scope and putting 30 rd mags on so idk try that.

I personally would switch out the VLK for the standard sniper scope, switch the foregrip out for stippled grip, and switch the Tac laser either for the ADS stock or a bigger magazine. I know people like the Tac laser because it is the best for increasing ADS, but the way I look at my ODEN, I'm going to be ADS BEFORE I peek corners because the fastest ODEN is still crazy slow, and I don't like the Tac laser giving my position away. With my build I use it as a light DMR that has the option to go full auto at medium range. But you should ABSOLUTELY run it either with an SMG, or with teammates because you wont be winning very many fights at CQC

There is a blueprint that gives you nice iron sights. So you could use that and take off the scope. Either add extended mags or slight of hand. Switch to the monolithic suppresser. And the ranger forgrip

Tac laser is completely useless as long as you’re gonna use the oden for the medium-long up to long ranges, so you don’t care about the ad speed. You should use the oden like a faster FAL, aiming properly. So the oden can easily become a meta weapon when used properly. I suggest to try this loadout if you really want to have fun with the Oden: Doubletime; Overkill; Amped. Oden: •Colossal suppressor •Longest Barrel Possible; •Vlk 3.0 Optic or more zoomed optic; •Commando grip •Aim down sight walk speed. + Uzi: • .41 Æ mag. •Fss Carabine pro barrel •Monolithic suppressor •Operator foregrip •Any optic or more ads speed if you’re used with ugly iron sights.

Colossus + 810mm + sniper scope + merc + tax laser is a really good long range combo. At least on pc. Set it to semi auto and just spam it onto long range targets and you can switch to full auto for medium range engagements. Its a really nice weapon to pair with just about anything but a sniper, as it kinda serves as a dmr but regardless it's nice.

If you want to use Oden for close to mid ranges, then it's better to replace the colossus with a muzzle brake or compensator and use a shorter barrel. For a marksman role, however, colossus and a long barrel are quite essential. As well as a VLK or Scout optic, or something like that. Becouse when you're trying to snipe with a non-sniper weapon, it's always important to choose an optic without a visible glint.

The Oden I think is one of those weapons that you really have to put the time into to learn and know its limits, personally it’s one of my favourite weapons to use for mid to long once I got the recoil pattern down. Course it’s a rifle that not everyone will like so don’t feel bad when you just don’t like using it. I run it with the Colossus suppressor, tac laser, commando grip, optic and SoH to counter its rather terrible reload speed. Paired with an smg to cover close ranges and it’s a great setup to run, though others have said that it’s better for close to mid so pair it with what you want.

Give this a try Colossus Suppressor Oden Factory 420mm Tac Laser VLK 3.0x Optic (3x) FTAC XL Elite Comb Since a suppressor is basically a must, Colossus just makes sense. I chose the short barrel just to help ads. Recoil and bullet velocity loss is minimal. Tac laser for ads and the stability to help counter the stability loss from the stock. VLK for recoil control and a good ranged scope. Ftac comb stock for ads speed. Ads becomes 315ms which is okay, but the reason the Oden seriously needs a buff.

This Oden is not meant to be used as an assault rifle because youre not using it at AR ranges ideally. You want to be engaging outside of the 40 meters that standard guns are more effective. Think of it more like a versatile sniper, and dont run it with a sniper. Run with close range option instead. It has fastest ttk and is super oppressive if you play to its strengths and take fights from positions in the 'just outside AR range'

The Oden already is a Sniper replacement. Use the Oden for medium/long range (it has 1500 m/s bullet velocity) and use a 5.56 AUG for close/medium range

I've noticed that if you use the colossal suppressor, you can use the smallest barrel still not lose any damage range and increase ads and mobility I usually use the ironsights and have a ranger foregrip to control recoil fully loaded or some other perk

in my opinion, any of the heavier AR's/LMG's need something with a little aiming stability on it. Various attachments (barrels, monolithic supporessor, etc) all add weight to already heavy guns. This means it doesn't matter how much recoil control you have, the bullets will still deviate based on the original starting position of the shot depending on where your weapon sway is going.

Oden is my 2nd most used weapon, I run colossus suppressor, cronen mini reflex, merc foregrip, stippled grip, and 30 rd mags. I turn it on single fire and use it like a dmr, it has no recoil, shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger, and kills in 5 rds even at decent range. Very underappreciated imo. I pair it with the origin.

I find the Oden is best at mid range, but will hold It's own at close range if you make some changes. Firstly, switch to the Black ASP blueprint. The iron sight is like a chonky Grau. You can then drop the VLK and long barrel to speed it up significantly. I'd then use slight of hand for definite, but you can chose between the 30 round mag and another ADS speed attachment based on how you want to play.

Ranger foregrip is by far the best attachment with the colossus suppressor for this gun.

For solos or duos that’s a perfect class. For quads or trios try the Colossus Suppressor, 810 Barrel, Ranger Foregrip, 30 Round Mags, Vlk 3.0 It’s slow but deadly accurate. This gun has more vertical recoil then horizontal bounce.

FINALLY, I LIVE on ODEN, also I recommend ranger foregrip the reason your ads are so wiggly is that aiming stability and ranger also gives recoil control. I really recommend it. Also, I put a 30 mag instead of the Lazer. Though the ADS is bad you can still win a lot of fights if you aim down first even at medium-low range.

Try using the merc foregrip instead of commando and remove the barrel in order to equip a larger magazine, this will make it slightly harder to hit moving targets at range but the recoil will be relatively the same and it gives you the potential to kill more enemies without reloading. It also gives you much better nobility. If you think you are ok with your built and doesn't want to change it, just pair it with a smg.

I played with the Oden for a while and really loved it, but I trend towards the heavier, slower guns. I ended up with two builds, you're pretty much running the shoot a guy on the horizon setup. It will not work under medium range. If you want to try something more assault rifle-ish, try Compensator, 810 Barrel, Tac Laser, Elite Comb Stock and 30 Round Mag. If you're accurate you will destroy at all ranges. You may need to use a BP like Black Asp that has the better (more open) iron sight.

I'm not sure this would be a good idea but maybe the Oden could be a close range monster. Especially with the Black Asp blueprint from a past battle pass that changes the iron sights. So maybe stippled, 420mm barrel, compensator, 5mw laser, and the ADS speed stock or instead the commando foregrip.

I full time use the oden as my main Warzone weapon. The main thing that will take this weapon to the next level is getting used to the iron sights. My class setup is colossus suppressor of course, same barrel you have on, 30 round mag, tac laser, and the commando foregrip

The thing is, the Oden for some reason has exceptional hipfire. People see it as a long range weapon, but I found it thrives in aggressive AR situations

I hated grinding gold on this gun. Great damage and can be really good at longer range in semi-auto but in WZ, as Winston Chan commented earlier, lose the barrel, switch to mono supp and go with 30 round mags.

Run the Black Asp blueprint (or any blueprint that gets rid of that ring on the iron sights). Swap the commando for either the Merc or Ranger foregrip, the Oden kicks right up so the commando doesn’t help a lot. Swap the VLK for Stippled grip tape. To me the iron sights on the Black Asp are good enough that even at pretty far ranges you can track targets so you don’t need the optic. I like to pair it an SMG as well and use the Oden for the mid to long range fights

your setup is correct. only thing you could fiddle with is replacing the forefgrip with other foregrips or stippled grip etc _______ but the Oden is more of a DMR, so combine with an smg. which also relieves redeems using the 20 round mags and allows you to go for cqc. but yes. its off meta. pro tip for super long range, single fire. usually allows for 2-3 heashots in quick succession --> armor break.
