@@Unnecesary_Grik He’s hardly the first director or writer to face drama and still continue to direct a series. Hell, a few of Anno’s writing decisions for End of Evangelion were specifically designed as a “take that” to some of the more overly nasty “critics” of the original TV series. Now, I know some of the staff weren’t always happy with how he directed things, but that doesn’t always equate a bad director. David Fincher is my favorite movie director and it’s well known he can drive actors insane with how many takes he will do for one scene just to perfect it. As long as nothing genuinely abusive is going on behind the scenes, I truly hope Nakayama returns, I fucking loved Season 1 (and because somebody usually tries to pull this angle, I have read all of Part 1 of the manga. I realize some see the CSM manga as more of a dark comedy, but for me it was a very dark action/drama with lots of broken people that just naturally made for plenty of dark humor as well. So the anime going for my interpretation made me very happy, and while I empathize with those wishing for their version to have been made, I don’t vibe with those trying to claim it was an objectively wrong way to adapt it, or demanding for a reboot when MAPPA already worked their asses off for a long time making this first season.)

From what I've seen the worst he's done was cut a Japanese union song Denji sang at the bathtub in the manga, which probably wasn't just him being petty, he probably did so because it would stir unnecessary drama (knowing Japanese work culture)

0:28 The thing about hype is that people misunderstand why a fan base is hyped in the first place. They're just excited for it to get a show that's it cause the manga is probably their favorite and really good. Plus since the manga is so far ahead like with JJK and CSM they know whats to come later on in the story is really good. Same with JJK. It's the first season so of course it's gonna be slow since a first season of an anime is only adapting the first few volumes which is when a story is just laying the ground works. Outsiders get disappointed because they expected the second coming of Christ even though it's just the first season for a manga that is WEEKLY and the show only gets new contents every year or 2 so have to wait unlike a manga where you only have to wait a week or a month for a new chapter. Demon Slayer ass though I've seen the manga it's only good for the animation.
