There was a theory when this movie came out that the minions were the planet’s immune system. They seek out and attach themselves to dangerous creatures and proceed to bring about their downfall. It didn’t work on gru because he wasn’t entirely bad.

Oh, yeah, because the tyrannosaurus and the yeti were so bad.🙄 Please. The tyrannosaurus in particular would have been every bit as innocent as Agnes. It was only “dangerous” in simply trying to eat enough to survive. Absolutely zero threat to the planet, and no risk of throwing any ecosystems off balance without outside interference. (Hell, have you seen half the “prey” dinosaurs?? Not exactly easy targets. I don’t even know *how* any of the carnivores managed to prey on a lot of those beasts. You try to eat an ankylosaur, you’re in for a REALLY bad experience. Even an old or sickly one would have been quite daunting. Still got that heavy armor and devastating tail club.) Damned crackpot theorists.😑 Everybody wants to be clever so bad, they don’t even realize their ideas make very little sense.🙄

The minions are a french creation and speak a mix of french, spanish and English. Im french and i understand their sentences . For example a minion said something along the lines of “li go la, u go la bas) which sounds very similar to “je vais la, toi tu vas la bas” ( i go there, you go there) but maybe speaking multiple languages makes them easier to understand lol

as a spanish and portuguese speaker (and knowing the basics of other similar languages) i can understand half of what the minions say, i know they say a lot of things in another languages, there's a picture like translating some random words to minion (i'm just a huge fan dont judge me) and i remember they say "one, two, three" in KOREAN, so i guess you just have to be a full polyglot or know the basics of some languages to fully understand them
