The Vermont is a colonial copper coin. 1 of only 5 colonies that minted during those few years. They look close in appearance to King George Colonial half pennies. Great find. Vermonts are pretty rare. The lead looks like a trap weight of some sort. Great finds. Really nice area to hunt!

Thank you so much! Someone suggested the lead pieces could be a weight for duck decal.

Ha ha yeah, we made a deal last year.. he gets the coins and I get the Jewelry.. it’s ok, last spring he found a gold ring inscribed May 3rd 1722.. 300 years old, and it’s mine now 😁

Good to see you all out and about even if it was last summer. We never got any winter digs. Are you getting soft or something? I Rember you like to detect around lakes where towns or building were. Looked like a great day and some very nice finds. You lucked out Laurie on that token.
@RelicDirtyhands Жыл бұрын
We did one year, the water dropped for work they preformed. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened since. Now imagine the ground being as hard as rock for about 3 feet deep, then add another 3 feet of snow on top! Nope not getting soft, just impossible 😂

Amazing spot all through there and you picked the perfect time to hunt it with the water being that low. Congrats on the Vermont, thrilling when you dip into the 1700's !! As usual, thanks for the video. Nice job everyone!

Congrats... amazing finds at an awesome location! I'm happy just finding a wheat penny in my area... I can't imagine the thrill of finding a 1700's coin. I was going to ask why you weren't rockin' the Manticore on this hunt but then it struck me that you all were in shorts and T-shirts with no snow in sight so this was obviously from last summer... haha.
@RelicDirtyhands Жыл бұрын
Yes, it was from the summer. I was testing the Manticore last summer, but I didn’t record those outings ☺️👍

Great spot out there and perfect area for military finds. Some amazing coppers coming out and Vermont token so amazing! Sweet longer skirt threadless CD 742 Montreal Telegraph Co. insulator! If that piece fits, you can repair that with special clear glass glue. That’s exactly what I hope to go looking for one of these days! Must be near the old railway bed. ATB and happy hunting!

I left it for a mudlarker ☺️, I remember years ago leaving one behind and they went and picked it up after my video I remember just leaving the two pieces there.
@kepvalley Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, something like that would be picked up in a heartbeat!

@@kepvalley I try not to take anything I won’t display.. I know others walk and search for stuff, they love what we leave behind. Drowned villages are different than parks. I wouldn’t leave the finds I don’t want in a park but here, everything is treasure including iron to many ☺️

Yep, I do the same in those kinds of wilder and not maintained places. Wish I had been that larker following behind.😉

Very nice find. 👍 I found a 1787 New Jersey state copper at an early Dutch colonist homesite a few years back. US state coppers don't show up over here very often. I'm sure there's more treasure in the water there.
