I need to firstly make a HUGE apology for the parts that are missing here (when I was playing through 9 I was very new to making highlights and certain vods got corrupted or expired before I could clip them so I was terribly upset) and on top of that my laptop has been EXPLODING everytime I try to stream or edit recently!
But it is done, not amazing, but I did it!
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting my content creation and Final Fantasy journey, it has been utterly magical so far!
Here's to (fingers crossed) a new PC by the end of this year & More FF memories!
(I'm currently fundraising for a new PC on Twitch through donations, so if you wish to donate towards it or just come morally support me through my laptop struggles I would greatly appreciate it!)

I want to say sorry for losing some of the best part of the game to Twitch either corrupting the vods or they expired :( when I started 9 I was very new to the vod making aspect of things so I salvaged as much as possible near the end. I appreciate everyone’s support with the channel and Twitch, it has honestly made me so overwhelmingly happy, Thank you!

This was my first rpg ever, I think I was 13 when I played it - that's 20 years ago this year. I still get goosebumps watching videos like this even though I replay it nearly every year. When you realise in the end that Vivi expired, little 12yo me didn't get that back then. A few years later I suddenly got it - sheesh. Thanks for capturing rather well what I went through 20 years ago - I'm glad you enjoyed the game, it will always be my favourite rpg.

The saddest part about the ending is that Vivi dies without knowing that Zidane is still alive, while Zidane returns without having a clue about Vivi's passing. Their friendship was truly special, yet their last goodbye happened after their battle with Necron. Let that sink in.

5:02 In Japan, cutting hair short like this is an extremely dramatic gesture. She's symbolically cutting away her old self; making a clean break with her past. In modern Japanese culture, high school girls who want to be drama queens will do this when they realize they'll never be with the boy they like. Here, though, I think Queen Garnet is cutting away the childish princess who only knows how to _look_ like a queen, so she can become a real one. The modern use of the act is humorously referenced by Eiko when she next sees Garnet.

This game gets me every time. This game is so deep an full of emotions from joy to the deepest sadness. It's a pure hidden treasure that people many times oversee. I'm glad u had the opportunity of playing it and enjoy as much as I did. A shame of those lost vods I wish I could see your reaction on Zidane mental break it's a very special character development. Well just as small fact I wanna let you know this is not the end of the road, I encourage you to see some videos that explains very in detail the full plot that is insanely deep and it's not fully well explained in the game. One last thing that you may or may not know is that Vivi is dead a while ago since the reunion in Alexandria RIP Vivi he will live in all our hearts. Cheers from Argentina! Keep going with your content is very good and I like it.

It's always a joy to relive the experience of this game through someone else's eyes. It's such a classic. Also ironic that FF9 got criticised for looking a bit too cartoony and childish when it was first released, yet it's the one where half the continent dies in wars, every major city gets blown to hell, and the main theme is existential fears of death and what it means to live and die.

I don't think it was genuine at all. Most of the fights were missing. Everyone was doing very low damage. If you actually played the game you would be dragon cresting your way through the final battles and by the time you farm your 100 Grand Dragons everyone will be doing huge damage. Most people will also use Zidane's thievery thing and Steiner's Shock Break. But I just use Freya, Steiner will hit 9999 on critical hits anyway.
@stupidiocy
@stupidiocy 3 жыл бұрын
@@jhowardsupporter errrr huh? I can't tell if you're being silly or if you didn't understand what he meant by "genuine". I'm pretty sure he was referring to her reaction/emotions toward the game, not how she played it. It was clearly a heavily edited version of her live Twitch streams of the game, in which I'm sure she was just going with the story, as opposed to maxing the game and all its content.

Something I've noticed over several replays. Steiner and Beatrix opening the door in that way during the ending could imply that they already knew about Zidane being back. My theory being that only Steiner knew and he told Beatrix right before the play. Which makes me appreciate the evolution of their relationship so much more. They went from being antagonistic to each other to Steiner being the only person Zidane would trust enough to help him make the surprise work for Dagger

What makes this playthrough wonderful is how much life you bring to these characters. I sincerely consider the acting and the voices as practically canon now. Thank you so much for sharing. Thank you for your fantastic commentary on the game that changed my life the most, as well as pronouncing Zidane properly IMO. Your voices were fantastic and it's great to see someone experience this as I did when I was just a kid. Well done

FF9 probably had the best emotional ending in the series. Don't get me wrong, there are others that end emotionally too, but this one ends on a high note. (Except for Vivi I guess, amazing to see your reaction when you finished Vivi's lines and you realized at that exact moment what happened to him).

First time I cried at a game was end of this. I was so excited for Zidane and Aerith (yes I called her Aerith haha) then when you realise Vivi's fate.. Sadder than the ending to ten IMO

FFIX is a masterclass in storytelling. This game definitely did not get the recognition that it deserved when it initially released, as it was at the beginning of the PS2 era. I'm so happy to see FFIX get the recognition that it deserves 20+ years after release.
