I never finished the game but according to this ending, Squall is dead and Rinoa is just 'hallucinating' after the shooting star. Unless there is an alternative ending suggesting he is not dead. Ill never know the truth cause its been over 20 years since I last played and got stuck in disc 3 or 4.

They completely messed up Odin tho. In Norse mythology he DID have a sword but he rarely ever used it. His primary weapon was a spear named Gugnir. It was all-piercing and never missed its mark. But I guess they couldnt include that or you would be literally invincible.

Third best Final Fantasy game ever. Arguably the second best. FFX and 8 is pretty much a coin toss. Final Fantasy 9 is the absolute champ tho. No other is even close.

That ending should be a barometer for basic humanity. If that ending doesn't get any sort of emotional reaction from you, well, congratulations, you're a computer.

The one thing about this game is I love BOTH endings. I might like the standard ending more where Tidus doesn’t come back, and Yuna comes to terms with her grief in a way but still lives for him. But the special ending is just so cute too

17:19 i finished Automata in the last week, and this song "kaine/salvation" everytime breaks me in the heart, because the "gathering keepsakes" sidequest of automata. And Lunar Tears are very emotional to me.... Now im playing the replicant too, and finished the A ending just now.. Thanks for the reactions. Its good to know that im not Alone with my tears.

I played this game when it first came out and I thought it was beautiful as it was but then they expanded the story more and I was so glad it did so it can give more people a chance to play this game. Defintely a lot of tear jerker moments and this game holds a special place in my heart as my late older brother bought me this game and will forever cherish this game. <3

I played this game in 2018 and I remember how much it broke me, after playing path A and B I was so excited about seeing how the story unveils further on, but my excitement quickly turned into depression as I had to watch 9S loosing his mind and everything kinda being destroyed...it was at this moment my friend told me that Automata isn't even the sad one

Thinking about it now, this *is* Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 7 came before it where famously Arieth perma-died. So playing the part where Rinoa gets lost in space soon after that must've been way more nerve wracking back then.

Just finished my playthrough of this game. Did NOT see any of that coming in Ending E. Just like Fran, I thought I was going to have to replay the entire game again to get the last ending. Fun little fact: if you fully upgrade Kaine's sword, your character's name appears in the final part of its story.
