​​⁠you’d come from a very long way back (B-Final, then climbing through the A-Final) and I knew you’d be probably angry with me for blocking your progress. But I also knew I was at the maximum pace for me in my kart and keeping you behind was my only hope of a podium.

@@BradPhilpot it was a very tough day. Tried my best due to the crash in the heats etc. But you drove very well and clean which for me is always the most important. Grip was very sketchy in the A final as the temps dropped. But no emotions were very high, but it wasn’t your fault so don’t worry 😄

Have to say JV from Club 100 wouldn’t allow some of that driving. At some points it was more bumper cars. We would be black flagged for the repeated contacts like that. Looked fun though.

Yeah but you have to drive to the standard that’s being allowed - and that’s a pretty normal level for Daytona. Club 100 is particularly strict. More strict than the majority of owner and rental series in my experience.

It’s mainly: Tapping your helmet with a finger = think about the race. Don’t fight. Pointing forward = work together, let’s move forward. Angry waving hand = what the heck was that? You did something I don’t approve of.

I won in cadet last year, 4th in junior this year, but as almost every other creator who comes to daytona says, the marshalling and race control are absolutely abysmal. Its easy to see they have favourite drivers, as they move the karts around, so their favoured drivers get the better karts, which are usually 1-2 seconds faster. Thankful i went to owners when i did as it looks like its got worse over this year

So dumb that penalty. It means you can get the person behind you a penalty really easily. And they can’t watch everyone. So it can’t ever be fair

Definitely very easy to get the person behind you a penalty with that rule, I agree. Like I said on the video, I disagreed with the penalty but more so the rule itself as you have no control over what the kart ahead of you does, and can wind up penalised through no fault of your own. That’s just my view anyway. Having said that, I was lucky to escape penalties for other things I did (unintentionally).
