can't wait to see how you react to book 3. I really like this concept with the predictions and updates after parts of the book. Often we forget how we felt in the middle of the book because the ending was so good. These videos are refreshing and a more honest review than just a simple feedback in the end.

I absolutely did not see the reveal about the prophesies coming. It hit me like a freight train and I had to pause the audiobook and sit there remembering all the clues I hadn’t even realized were clues that Sanderson had been sprinkling throughout the book. I have never been gobsmacked by a twist like that before, and so that has earned it the spot as my favorite ending to a Cosmere book to date.

It’s really well crafted isn’t it!

My favourite? Hero of Ages. Good luck with the third book. I love the format, keen to be on the ride with you. Super keen if you are in for the long ride with Sanderson. The way you are working through theories will really help as you start to grapple with the big cosmere (cross world) theories.
@conorreads9 ай бұрын
So I am actually up to the hero of ages in real time (managed to get about 2 weeks ahead on videos which is a relief because it feels less pressured to get one done in time if i don’t like it now) and something was said that opened my eyes to how big the cosmere may potentially be…. And it may be vast

Thank you for the upload man. Much love as always. Really enjoying this series, can't wait for Hero of Ages and the rest of the Sanderson's works.

Hope you are enjoying watching it as much as I am making it mate. Thankyou

Well Of Ascension is one of my favorite Sanderson's book, if not the favorite. This is when I understood Sanderson's books are somethings else. Having the first line of the book being a major clue for the resolution of it is something special. I recently read The Final Empire (Mistborn) and there are clues there to book 7 which is crazy, it dazzled me like a hit in the face.

nah man Book 2 is my fave as well, although I am due a re-read of this series. I loved it, a cracking read - Brandos book 2's always seem to be his best imo.

I think I preferred Mistborn by a hair on first read, but I liked them both the same on re-read (knowing what would happen in book 3). Great predictions for the rest of the story!

I preferred the 1st book. WoA was my least favourite of the 3. I don't mind politics but I realised reading this book I don't enjoy siege stories and this had 3 simultaneous sieges. HoA is fantastic. If you liked how all the details came together for WoA I think you will really enjoy how HoA all comes together.
@conorreads9 ай бұрын
Most people seem to have enjoyed Mistborn more than WoA, I have begun HoA and it’s been incredible so far
@raea299 ай бұрын
As for favorite there are so many factors. Final Empire introduces the series and can (though shouldn't) be read as a single story. WoA takes everything on the scale we knew and blows it up and out. It expands in a way that FE couldn't squeeze in. HoA wraps up in one of the most satisfying ends to a trilogy (and start of a greater story) that I have ever come across. Which is why I totally cop out and take it as 1 story like LoTR. Also with seeing your guesses and excitement of plot points come through, I need to be really selfish and demand you finish the next book in only 2 sittings so I can see your final reactions haha.

My order for the Mistborn trilogy is Hero of Ages, The Final Empire, Well of Ascension. I'm curious which character death impacted you the most in this book. Also, do you have predictions for Marsh going forward?
@conorreads9 ай бұрын
I am a decent amount into book 3 now, so it would be unfair for me to pretend I don’t know a little more. But I underestimated marsh in book 1 (even going as far as to say he was a traitor) and then he genuinely MVP’d the whole book so I’d guess he does something similar!

I found the Vin perspectives super frustrating because of the unnecessary love triangle drama. Better on a re-read because Zane’s manipulations are more obvious. Other than that I loved WoA, I think a lot of fans are bored with the politics though.
@conorreads9 ай бұрын
I quite like a bit of politics so that probably influenced me

What is everyone's thoughts on when Conor should read secret history. I read it straight after era 1 and really enjoyed it. I know it has some stuff that ties into era 2 books (and I had read Elantris already and recognised some things but realised a bunch of that part was going over my head). After secret wars I read warbreaker (which I really liked) and currently almost half way through way of kings. I don't get a lot of time to read but hope I can stay in front of Conor as always fun to see how close his predictions are.
@gregorywendel62039 ай бұрын
I didn't get to secret history for years after the first mistborn trilogy. For that reason, I'd recommend waiting until after warbreaker, elantris, WOK.

Vin is one of my favorite fictional characters but I actully thought this was the weakest of the trilogy. Mainly everything before Part 5. I appreciate problems causing tension but it almost became too much in this one. It never stopped piling up and it was actually draining to get through. I also hated how Vin defeated Zane. How is atium ever a threat again when she discovered how to beat it. Whenever I reread this trilogy the second book is usually the one i enjoy the least but still a great series
@conorreads9 ай бұрын
Yeah I actually agree with you on how Atium was cheapened by that scene. Massively.
@paulsiskin71409 ай бұрын
She suprised Zane with this move. If he would be prepared he easy could still beat her. But she is the hero so she has plot armor so far ;)
@paulsiskin71409 ай бұрын
But I agree. Book 2 is also the weakest for me. The ranking is 1, 3, 2 for me for the first 3 books. And era 2 is much better :)
@holdenpop12Ай бұрын
I also preferred Well of Ascension over Mistborn. I think it’s partly due to the fact that I could just never get a good feeling on if I liked Kelsier or not.

Final Empire was my favorite, probably because i like kelsier and never really vibed with Vin
