Awesome variety at that spillway. Quality fish too. That 21" walleye would've been dinner for me. Perfect eater size. 👍

That game warden was chill af, I love interactions like that. He was genuinely checking to see if everyone was being safe on the water and didn't give anyone a hard time and didn't even check for a license.

0:56 - you should always wear your life jacket 😉

@RivermanTV- Yeah true, it just sucks when it's 90°+. But that's probably better than drowning

I couldn’t find that lipless crank bait that you were using on the little frishy’s website
@EngineeringHooksets3 ай бұрын
@austinlee6444 he has temporarily paused making baits while he renovates his house. They should be back on his website in a month or 2 (I think). Thanks for checking though!

I was doing research below Watts Bar dam along with a creel survey when one of the boats started getting pulled towards the dam rather then drifting away. I watched them try to start their motor and then give up on it and try to get out of the situation using the trolling motor. That was right before watching the dam sink the boat completely. It honestly went down like a submarine. I was surprised to see them both down stream bobbing along in their life jackets. Unfortunately, while I was busy rescuing one of them, the other guy must’ve gotten caught in another current rushing back towards the dam. I only know for sure that it was weeks before he was recovered and I had heard that there was no clothing or life jacket suggesting that he spent some time tumbling around below the dam before the current let him go again. I suggest keeping your main motor running when fishing near a dam and always wear a life jacket!

That's a good tip. I keep my main motor running when I fish below dams that have more potential to suck you in. Like if the flow is greater, or if you're in an eddy casting into the current. (I.E. Melton Hill or Loudon). In this instance, I didn't feel it was necessary because the flow was low. The only spot where we could have been sucked towards the dam in this is the eddy on the right side of the river, but there is a large blockage of trees stuck above the dam on that side (can be seen in drone shots), so the flow was significantly lower and not very dangerous (obviously it could still fill/flip a boat, but there was not much re-circulation). I was also keeping a good distance from the dam. But yes, those are good tips and boating under spillways should never be taken lightly.

@@EngineeringHooksets the conditions were awful that day. Not another boat or shore fishing going on. They had opened all the gates and were releasing a ton of water. Just be safe out there! It took me years to get past the survivors guilt or whatever was causing the depression afterwards.

@ShawnTyler-mm4oh What? I just didn't want fish slime on my hands at that particular moment, while I was eating snacks. I have absolutely no problem touching fish, and I have caught, handled, and released many catfish in past videos. I think you need to not read into things so far.
