Your lawn Bermuda ? Love Y.M. Use it regularly but the heat now in Texas in July is 100 daily with humidity 55% or higher each day. Just don’t want the fungus that goes with humidity and nitrogen.Want to put down Stress Blend but not sure.St.Augustine lawn here.

Great video and review👍. Subscribed. Stress blend does work but I'll add that if you want the lawn to be able to use the iron then add some humic acid with the application.

Appreciate the watch and sub! You are definitely on to something with the humic. You'll see in my sprayer video I put down a humic/seakelp mix and have been now applying bi-weekly and the lawn is screamin now. I have a video on the benefits on humic coming out soon!

I think for the super hot dry times, Hydretain works well to pull moisture into the soil wnd help with the lawns stress. I've been using it in NC with our hot summers and it's helped the lawn not stress as bad. Check it out! amzn.to/3RAVV5V

My lawn went from beautiful thick green to straw brown in a week. Drought on long island. I have a sprinkler system. Nothing seems to have done the trick

I live on LI also. Same issue with some of my lawn. I just applied YM Stress blend and N-EXT Microgreene this past Friday. Hope it helps. I also applied Hydretain in Early July with my first application of Stress blend. I don’t have a sprinkler system. But I will say all of these things have helped my lawn not die out

What did you use next after stress blend and when? Thanks
@mikeshomeandgarden
@mikeshomeandgarden Жыл бұрын
After the stress blend I held off on additional nitrogen fertilizer until it cooled.off a bit since it was so hot out. The stress blend had just enough nitrogen to green it up, but phosphorus and potassium helped keep the lawn going in the brutal heat.

Hello great video! So how often do you water u grass after the application?
@mikeshomeandgarden
@mikeshomeandgarden 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Best case is time this so you get it down right before a rainstorm. That'll get the best results. Otherwise if you're irrigating, you should be going for 1"-1.5" of water per week, broken out between 2-3sessions, so like .5" of water per day you use irrigation so it gets deep into the ground.

I've been thinking about applying stress blend to my yard but I don't know if it's to hot. I live in Missouri and it's been almost 100 for the last week with no rain so would it be good or just burn my grass?
@mikeshomeandgarden
@mikeshomeandgarden 2 жыл бұрын
That's how it was here in NC when I applied it. I couldn't keep up with irrigation it was so hot and dry so I just stopped watering ( I did a video on this). Once the rain started to pick up then the stressblend watered in and woah, the lawn took off. With the low N and much of it from an organic source, I don't think it'll burn...you just won't see any results until rain comes and gets the prills to dissolve into the soil. Best case, wait until you're going to get a rain storm and put it down right before. Worst case, throw it down now and just wait for rain!

Thanks for the video what can I use to kill my long grass please
@mikeshomeandgarden
@mikeshomeandgarden 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Long grass? Grass in general can be killed with different non selective herbicides like roundup, but it'll torch the whole yard. If it's a sedge, there's products like Image or sedgerhammer you can apply to kill it while preserving the yard. Depends on the situation!

I put down PGF complete June 10th. It's 16-4-8. Do you think I can still put down the stress blend?
@mikeshomeandgarden

IMO another YardMastery gimmick. Keep in mind that these boutique types of fertilizers were developed for golf courses with crappy sandy soils devoid of nutrients. There is simply no way to know whether K is needed without referring to your soil test. . Excessive potassium in the soil can affect other nutrients and contribute to higher soil salt concentrations. Which requires even more water stress. Any greening you are experiencing is from pushing soluble N into a highly stressed period and if I’m right ammonia forms of nitrogen require even more water requirements on the plant. 2 recommendations. First check your organic content. Adding compost in spring or fall will go a long way in helping soil retain moisture. I believe you need to hit the 3-5% range Second, from my experience hitting the lawn with liquid kelp applications going inside the heat is the best way to reduce stress and stimulate root development without pushing a lot of top growth. Kelp is a great bio stimulant. I use a combination of humic acid and kelp applied via a backpack sprayer. I do not irrigate and my TTTF stays fairly green through humid hot mid Atlantic summers

Yeah, this was busted. Putting N on your stressed lawn with no break in the temp/rainfall isn't a good strategy Maybe mention application rates since you're basically selling a product. Don't just "walk in one direction, then walk in another perpendicular" Your "results video"....a lot of excuses about the conditions that led you to this product...lack of rain, warm temps, and now HUMIDITY!!! Here's our new foe. "Now I have lawn disease". What?
@mikeshomeandgarden
@mikeshomeandgarden 2 жыл бұрын
@@TyCarter21 Interesting perspective. Thanks for watching and commenting! Keeping a regular fertilizer schedule even during stress is important and as I said in the video, I am watering the lawn manually, also it's organic slow release N it's not going to push growth hard. I will also add for others seeing your comment, your assessment of humidity and the other elements as "excuses" is far from accurate. A little research will show that lack of rain, warm daytime temps and, yes, humidity that causes dew in the mornings creates a favorable condition for dollar spot. This is typical for mid-May thru June in my area every year and easily treatable. More info coming in the next video on lawn fungus!

I do! But in my lawn I typically see the fungus issues during the spring/summer transition. By late summer when I threw stress blend down, fungus issues are typically gone. I use the BioAdvance or Scotts granular fungus control. Which ever of the two are cheaper at Lowe's
