Thank those who like to mod cheats into games so that when you play online they have the advantage. I don't know about any other title, but GT did it because of folks editing their save game to have all the cars and other things. It's funny how you only complain as if this happened in a vacuum, something compelled them to even go through the same file integrity check every time you login and when you're completing content. In a perfect world there won't be people who cheat in multiplayer, but this isn't that, so you'll have to take the good with the bad. I have no idea why any of the Crew games cannot be played offline, no one complained to Ubisoft about cheaters in their racing games. Large game file that's just a useless map without Internet connection.

Problem with modern racing games is they all follow the same formula: shove the MC into some sort of race festival and give him a powerful car from the getgo. No trying, no risk, no reward. Just a giant playground where the only endgoal is to collect as many cars as possible.

Either it's too easy because you get everything for free like in Forza Horizon or it's a dull grind like in Forza Motorsport. Every open world racing game wants to be like Forza Horizon because it's been the most successful in recent years. On top of that, the developers are usually just chasing trends to expand the target audience as much as possible.

Forza Motorsport on the other hand really doesn't do a single thing better than its predecessors, or even its more arcade spin off in Horizon. Because both The Crew Motorfest and Forza Motorsport are very unrealistic, the only difference is that one of them is marketed as an arcade racing game lol.
