You say the BCP is a good method of getting Toad Circuit out of the way, but I personally disagree. We've been waiting for over 20 years for N64 Wario Stadium to return and it still hasn't. I'd be shocked if it wasn't in the next Mario Kart game, but with the new mechanics and the new standard for retro tracks, the next version of Wario Stadium is probably going to be significantly better than how it was initially. That's the potential Toad Circuit has if we give the series 20 years to develop new mechanics and make retro tracks even better than they currently are. Bringing back a starter course from the very last game is the definition of worthless, and I would have sooner preferred just about anything else; perhaps Daisy Hills, to fill the slot of a simple 3DS track, or an SNES track that hasn't returned, since at least there would be a more noticeable leap in playability between the old and new versions of those tracks. And even if Nintendo doesn't radically alter Toad Circuit in order to maintain its purity as a starter course, I wouldn't even mind that much. N64 Luigi Raceway in MK7 is my least favorite course in that game, but I see the worth of its inclusion; having simple tracks like it is important for beginners. Mario Kart 8 is a game with no shortage of beginner friendly courses, meaning Toad Circuit adds no value to 8, while it could have value in a future game. And from my personal perspective as a veteran of the series, I would rather greet Toad Circuit as an old friend in the Shell Cup of a game decades from now, rather than having it be that course where "the party ended an hour ago and he's still here". Thank you for getting rid of Mario Circuit 3 though, there is no justification for that being in the game
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, wasn't expecting you to comment lol. I'm a big fan 🙂 I think your argument for Toad Circuit is the same one I have for Rock Rock Mountain. This for me was namely due to the actual differences in glider mechanics in MK8. I understand that new games can bring lots of new changes, but I'm not sure what all they could do with TC. In my mind, it is one of the best starting circuit courses - I actually do find it as a quality entry in 7, too. The change in item system in Deluxe does change how it plays too, so it at least has that going for it - this goes for all courses, but it is especially impactful for courses with a lot of offroad cuts. I really think that most of the hate is mainly due to how bad it was visually than anything. Like you mentioned, MC3 had even less reason to be here, but it didn't get the same blowback. As such, I think a lot of it was perception driven too. I also think that each MK is going to be bigger than 32 to start in the future too. You're never going to have just a handful of easy tracks again if they want to keep pace with Deluxe. So I'm not sure if TC would ever be seen as welcomed in the future, at least in the same way you saw Luigi Raceway, which notably, was still near the bottom of your list.

On the topic of Wario stadium, I feel like it’s biggest problems were the same ones you listed in your N64 courses ranked video. The drift system wasn’t good in MK64 as well as the complete lack of a trick system. I feel like not much would have to be changed about Wario Stadium. Add a water section, some half pipes, and maybe a glider section, then it would be pretty much all set. All you would have to do is give the background a glow up. Turns out Wario heads copy pasted to infinity isn’t exactly pretty even for N64 standards.

The main reason I argue Toad Circuit makes sense is because it’s the first track of Tour. It’s the introductory track to learn the physics and gameplay. In a DLC based around Tour content, Toad Circuit makes perfect sense

@@bellasprout1579 yes, but the BCP was meant to pay homage to/bring over content from Tour. People with the BCP don’t need Toad Circuit to learn the mechanics, but it’s a reference to Tour, and that’s honestly the only thing that really matters here

I would argue that 3DS Mario Curcuit would be a better pick than 3DS Toad Circuit. Mario Curcuit is from the Flower Cup, but it is as easy as the Mushroom Circuit one. It is visually superior to Toad Circuit, because of the Cherry blossoms and driving though Peach's Castle, and has a gliding session that is way better used than Toad Circuit's. And also, it's a course that is on Tour as well.

Some of the shuffles are a bit strange, like Daisy Cruiser doesn’t really give off first Cup vibes. I feel like the cities are fine where they are- Berlin definitely works for Wave 3. And even though they’re in separate cups, I feel that BC3 and Fortress clash with each other as you have two Bowser themed course. Piranha Plant Cove also works as the final course of the Acorn Cup simply so we don’t have two Tour courses in a row that have multiple routes. Overall, it’s good but I prefer what Nintendo gave us, so I’ll give yours a 7.8/10

There’s something I’d argue with about the idea of peaking in wave 3. Wave 6 is supposed to be the equivalent of the Special Cup for the BCP. This is the one that should be very difficult. If you only peak halfway through while having something that is just good-ish at the end, it’d leave a bitter taste in the players’ mouth. Since Wave 6 is the grand finale, they expect something big and great. Plus, don’t forget that Wave 6 is also the final ounce of content we’ll be getting from Mario Kart for at least a couple of years, and the final batch of cups for the MK8 era as well. Peaking in the halfway wave is not the ideal way to proceed when you put that into consideration. Since the Spiny Cup is just good and will probably be "just good" in a lot of people’s minds, AND ends with the easier Rainbow Road, while having the Moon Cup that is 100x better, and will be the one the fans would likely prefer, they’d be underwhelmed by the finale, and that disappointment with a final send off that is not as climactic as expected would make for a poor final impression of MK8DX for the fans. So we’d have to go off with the hardest, most climactic, and most likely to be loved cup. The Moon Cup should also be climactic, hard, and likely to be popular, but not as much as the Spiny Cup. Here’s how I’d do it. Moon Cup: -Singapore Speedway -GCN Dino Dino Jungle -SNES Bowser Castle 3 -3DS Rainbow Road Spiny Cup: -Madrid Drive -DS Airship Fortress/Peach Gardens (with the backwards lap) -GBA Bowser Castle 4 -Wii Rainbow Road

Yeah this checks off pretty much everything I would've wanted fixed: Better second SNES pick, a more balanced number of reps from each game, another Bowser's Castle course, the inclusion of Airship Fortress, and the removal of both Moonview Highway and Daisy Circuit (they're both awful tracks in MK8). Also, Toad Circuit is definitely overhated and would be better received this way which is great. My only critique is I think Piranha Plant Cove should stay as the last course of the Acorn Cup since it would be weird having two Tour courses that change routes each lap go back to back, and it would be nice to be fully consistent with having the non-city Tour tracks at the end of every other cup.

In the original wave 3 trailer, and in mkt, the peach gardens shortcut is heavily nerfed. @CaptainRillaboomArmenia9 ай бұрын
In my opinion, keeping Toad Circuit is still a bad idea, and it’s even worse because we have a starter course in Wave 2, instead of Wave 1. The Booster Course Pass uses Tour tracks, and Toad Circuit wasn’t changed. Therefore, if it got in Mario Kart 9 instead, it could have got a glow-up, with antigravity, and maybe good use of the new gimmick of the next game. They could honestly make it decently interesting if it was remade in a future Mario Kart game. IMO, we should have 3DS Mario Circuit as the second course of the Golden Dash Cup because it’s one of the better circuit tracks. Except it’s not TOAD CIRCUT BABYYYYYYYYY
@HDRookie9 ай бұрын
Well, they could've given Toad Circuit a glowup in MK8 with antigravity if they really wanted to. They just chose not to - not sure if this would change for MK9.
@CaptainRillaboomArmenia9 ай бұрын
@@HDRookie The BCP doesn’t really give glow-ups to the 3DS tracks because the whole point of it is preserving Tour tracks, so in Wave 1, they ported Tour models in 8DX with very few changes. So no, Toad Circuit wouldn’t get that glow-up in the BCP.
@HydreKenny Жыл бұрын
Amazing video! I love how you gave reasoning for removing or adding tracks, only allowed one track from a MK game per wave and how you still followed "Nintendo's rules" by keeping all the tour tracks. Some people would remove like Toyko Blur and added Wario Colosseum lmao. Also, I wonder why Mushroom Bridge and Airship Fortress didn't get added, they seemed to have a lot of work put into them for Tour. I feel like something happened in development that they didn't manage to add those tracks. I also agree on removing Sunset Wilds and Sky Garden; why keep those tracks if they're just gonna be extremely butchered? I think the only things i would've changed would be that I prefer Coconut Mall would come later like Wave 3 or 4 so it would've had time to look better and the cars could've move like they used too. I prefer Waluigi Stadium stays in Wave 4 because I bet it was delayed to look as polished as it does now and I don't wanna ruin that, so I'll switch Mushroom Bridge and Waluigi Stadium placements. Waluigi Pinball could come in Wave 1 since it's as popular as Coconut Mall and the "plastic" looking graphics look well for a pinball aesthetics. Dry Dry Ruins could be the Wave 1 Wii track and it also shows people that tracks that haven't been remade can come to the BCP. Shroom Ridge would be moved to Wave 2 and DK summit would be moved to Wave 5. Also, about Peach Garden, i love the third lap going reverse and flying over the garden, It feels magical. But if it was removed, then they should add back the item boxes following the Chain Chomps since without the reverse lap, then i think this Peach Garden version would be inferior to previous iterations.
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
See, I disagree in the Peach Gardens take. This iteration felt faster and more fluid than the Wii version in my opinion. Despite Wii introducing trick boosts, this version found so many more areas to incorporate them (even when landing from the glider lap 3 on the ledges lol) and the course feels quicker to me as such, which I like. I also think that karts control better in bikes did in the hedge maze section. And yeah, there's no point in doing this exercise if it's not remotely realistic, for sure. I understand the Pinball and Mall swap, I just don't think I'd do it. Mall had a different energy at the time. The lesson is just not to rush things out and plan better I suppose. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I would change one thing, I think there shouldve been less wii courses being first time retro so I would remove dry dry ruins and instead move koopa beach to wave 2 and swap kalamari desert to wave 5 with koopa cape taking koopa beach and kalamari taking dry dry ruins. I think people would be OK with 2 koopa courses because they are both fan favorites and dry dry ruins isnt really the most memorable track so this should be justifiable. Also all tracks fit with the time of the year still. I agree with the rest of the picks however.

Interesting topic to discuss, loved the video Rookie! Though there is one thing i have to point out. If we are going to still keep out pp pipeline since pp slide is in the base game I personally don't think Dry Dry Ruins should get in. Don't get me wrong, DDR is probably a top 5 wii course imo, but the track is arguably more similar to Dry Dry Desert from base game than pipline is to slide. The names are practically identical and both use very similiar assets and theming, including the hammer bro statues. I mean the starting line of DDD in mk8 is esentially the same as the pyramid entrance of DDR in tour. Yeah sure the layouts are quite different but the same could be said about pipline and slide. I personally would instead replace DDR with Koopa Cape, as i think it works really well in the bcp. Besides, putting more second time retros from wii in the bcp instead of first time leaves room for more wii courses in following games, since almost all wii courses currently are in mk8 so there arent a lot left mk9.
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
For reference, I mainly made that argument specifically when deciding which Tour original to exclude. Honestly I thought about having all of them in, but I would've also likely ended with two piranha tracks in Wave 6, and I wanted to be able to include CM, WP, MT, and the RRs as cup closers alongside the other 5 original courses and extra 2 cities. I still think a desert track is more warranted, so I probably would've pivoted to Yoshi Desert and Daisy Circuit again, if removing DDR.

3DS Toad Circuit is an introduction course, and they love to pick introduction course. Here all them: - SNES Mario Circuit 1 → It was picked for Mario Kart DS' Shell Cup 1st course. Available in Tour. - N64 Luigi Raceway → It was picked for Mario Kart 7's Shell Cup. Available in Tour. - GBA Peach Circuit → It was picked for DS' Shell Cup 3rd course. Available in Tour. DS' 2nd Shell Cup isn't N64 Luigi Raceway but N64 Moo Moo Farm (DS' Shell Cup pick all introduction course). Probably because there already are another Luigi Circuit inside. MK8's 1st Shell Course being Wii Moo Moo Meadows could be a nod to this. Basically, it was either 3DS Toad Circuit, N64 Luigi Raceway, GBA Peach Circuit or SNES Mario Circuit 1. 3DS Toad Circuit is the least bad of the bunch. Paris Promenade feels a lot like N64 Rainbow Road: it feels more like a celebration course than really a competitive one. So I would see it more as a conclusion of the Golden Course. One thing you missed is that they really wanted to tie the Tour with the 4th course. It is somewhat consistent in the first half. Less in the second part - Paris and Coconut Mall. You need to see with Japanese eyes, but "Mall" is more seen as a luxury, and fit with Paris. Choco Mountain is rather thematic too when you think about it. - Tokyo and Ninja Hideaway: you have your Japan focus. With Japanese depressed eyes, you understand Shroom Ridge and Sky Garden inclusion. - New York and Waluigi Pinball: you have the "city that never sleep" focus. Kalimari for the western vibes are a nice touch. - Sydney and Sky-High Sundae: the "summer theme" focus. - London and Mapple Treeway? I don't get it. As the Rock Cup, with England's Rock Band, Rock Rock Mountain is self explanatory. Maple Treeway seems so misplaced, and should be in Acorn with Vancouver. - Berlin and Rainbow Road. Well, you need to understand what represent Berlin for Japan, and its very Rainbowish. I don't get why Peach Gardens isn't in Rock Cup - Amsterdam and Yoshi's Island. I guess we got the "meta" joke. - Bangkok and Singapore. They are in Asia? To be fair, I don't get it either. - Athens and Squeaky Clean? I don't get it either. Squeaky Clean would be so thematic with Bangkok (the Venitia of the East). Huge missed opportunity. - Los Angeles and Vancouver? They are in America? - Rome and Piranha Cove Plant? Why? Why isn't Maple Treeway in the Acorn, with Vancouver. Huge missed opportunity. - Madrid and Rainbow Road. I don't get it. If they put Berlin for the "fairy" joke, they should go all the way and put Athens as well.

I think it's completely fine to say I don't fully agree with your choices, however I do agree with some changes you made. I like your idea of ending the first cup of each wave with a Tour non city nitro, the flip up in the second half we got does come off jarring. Besides if you were to flip it, the other cup ender was solid to end the wave too (coconut mall, Waluigi Pinball, 3DS Rainbow Road) To add more sense to this change, simply changing what cup icons would keep the idea that at least 3 of the first 4 nitro courses matched the theme of the cup they were in (propeller cup fit shy high and mushroom gorge perfectly theme wise, and lucky cat fit Tokyo & Ninja Hideaway really well. Yoshis Island in Fruit Cup also genius) I was quite confused that you chose for only PPC to not fit the cup 1 ender pattern, and it was one of the few organization flaws I felt like this had. Wave 3 cup icons really become a head scratcher here, and I think in part its because the rock mushroom just didn't really work as a wave 3 icon at all... The Moon Cup icon is perfect here for NY, I always think that dropped too soon and it and 3DS Rainbow would compliment eachother so well in the same cup. The other icon could perhaps have been an Ice Flower instead? Maybe not as original but fits the theme of holidays so much better, and allows for keeping the spiny cup to represent the end of all things Booster Course Pass. Also I think Wave 4 actually is an upgrade even if Mushroom Bridge isn't a preferred track of mine. That was the perfect time to drop it of any, any later would have come off underwhelming. London in wave 4 kinda sucks but that's just because the track wasn't well designed to begin with. It can't be denied it's complexity still reflects better later on despite its gameplay, and the rest of that wave would certainly put in work to elevate it and DS Mario Circuit (which I do agree, it's a fitting remake and better to bring back than MC3 AGAIN) I overall like how you balanced the tracks better and removed courses that just had no purpose here. The only single course I have a major gripe with is Vanilla Lake, and that's more of a problem with Nintendo if anything. The options for having two SNES courses meant that alongside BC3 the other choice either had to be a returning second time retro or... A not so desirable track for a first time. Vanilla Lake 2 is pretty hard to salvage. As boring as VL1 was I'd rather that came back and VL2 just never did. I imagine this was one of the hardest things to piece in though and give a fair balance with all things in mind. SNES retros constantly get done dirty and after how BC3 was treated WELL I would hope for similar treatment for future SNES tracks in mind. The only other thing on my mind is I would keep the rainbows where we got them, the hype bomb for people who didn't keep up to date with tour made Wii Rainbow the absolute best choice to end on. And even for those who did, it just has an unspeakable magic to it. It would reorganize alot of other tracks though. I have to imagine these cup also were tough for you to decide on, as well as a fair amount of decisions you made. Your video ends up putting out a lot of creativity for others to build their own ideas off of which is great for the community. The content is much appreciated!

I actually agree with your logic for keeping toad circuit, however, there are a couple of changes I would make: 1. I would keep Koopa cape (but with the tunnel section fixed) since its already returned in 7 so won't be in the next game anyway. I would take it over dry dry ruins and put back in sunset wilds (this time with the sunset) instead of Luigi circuit to still have a desert track. 2. To still give Luigi some representation, I would replace Peach gardens with Luigi's mansion. 3. I would put Piranha plant cove in wave 5 to go alongside Petey Piranha and push squeaky clean sprint back to wave 6, meaning Wario shipyard could go in wave 6, 3DS RR could go back to wave 3, Wii RR could go back to wave 6 and maple treeway back to wave 3. I did this because I think Wii Rainbow road is a much better fit for the final track than 3DS RR. It's harder and way more hyped by fans so definitely fits better.

Other things I would include in BCP: • Ability to change the way items are distributed (distance-based or position-based). Position-based distribution (like in all previous games) is more chaotic, so it would be nice as a more frantic Frantic Items. • Custom items can be chosen for cops and renegades instead of team colors in Renegade Roundup (seriously, Nintendo?) • As the last update to MK8, bring back the thundercloud as a April Fool's Day prank. After that, it would be taken out of normal rotation but could be selected in custom items.

Interesting thoughts, but they'd have to make the custom item distribution much more layered than it currently is for it to work. The balance is just different for customs.

I mostly agree with these rebalancing of the BCP, so good job! However, I do have some criticisms: 1. I understand why you would want to add every Tour course, but I don't see how we couldn't just add them into a later MK title. Since PPP isn't getting added, the whole "preserve the Tour tracks on a console title" argument kinda falls flat anyways. On top of that, many Tour tracks feel way too similar (and easy) to race on, which now adds a counterargument to a SECOND reason you gave for your picks. And while we're at it, what about the MK Arcade games? Shouldn't their courses be "preserved" as well? I feel like there are simply just too many counterarguments to warrant adding every Tour track. 2. Schaff is right, honestly. TC is not the worst course in the BCP (let alone the whole game), so its addition never bothered me. Schaff's comment (which, for those who didn't read it, boils down to TC is too simple for a game with so many simple tracks and too early to be an understandable addition when it would be more appreciated in a later game) does make a great point on how TC was kind of a wasted spot for (sticking with the rules now) a better 3ds track like either of the Wuhu tracks, Daisy Hills, or even RRM (relying on the assumption that the Wuhu tracks/DH would actually be remade in Tour first, or that Nintendo would actually put some effort in and properly remake their tracks for MK8DX). 3. Tracks don't HAVE to be easy! Building off of what has already been implied in the first two points, adding "easy" tracks to MK8DX of all games might not be the best idea. I have no problem against simple tracks. Riverside Park is one of my favorites of the DLC, not because it's easy, but because it's a blaze to race through, especially on 200cc. It's simple, but it isn't easy due to its excellent pacing. Some tracks (like TC and most of the city tracks) fail to make their simple designs appealing in any way, and thus make themselves less deserving of their spots IMO. 4. No Toad's Factory so 0/10, I don't make the rules Once again, I do believe this rebalance is much better than the original BCP. You removed MC3 and added DDR and Airship Fortress, so can I really complain? Too bad this isn't what we had in the original.
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
Well, keep in mind, this isn't what I would personally want either. If it was, I'd also have put TF in. The Tour argument does make sense. PPP not being in is a complete headscratcher after they made such a commitment to all the Tour cities. My guess is that Tour cities won't return in the next MK, but its original courses might.

A thought I've had is that, in spite of Splatoon characters being kind of a big deal and new addition here, we didn't get a single Splatoon themed track aside from the battle mode. if I had to swap out anything, maybe swap out Dry Dry Ruins for something Splatoon related. Scorch Gorge from 3 would be something I think could fulfill the desert theme, while also giving us something to tease that game (since I think the BCP was before 3 released, but I could be remembering wrong)
@HDRookie4 ай бұрын
I think that was a result of timing more than anything. Battle mode was just the new feature at launch, and given Splatoon is a battle focused game in a sense, it was just a slam dunk option for them. It almost felt like the battle content was a DLC Pack 3 from the original MK8 in some senses, with its crossover content. I still would've preferred if they gave us 8 more tracks instead though.

Hello Rookie, I would like to comment on the viability of riverside park and to a lesser extent, daisy cruiser in wave 1. Riverside Park wasn’t fully completed in tour until July 25th of 2022, this makes it so this track is physic impossible to be able to appear in wave 1. This also applies to daisy cruiser but only to a lesser extent due to being completed in tour only a week before wave 1 released. This could still make DC possible feasible for this reality to an extent but it cannot be possible with riverside in wave 1. Riverside has to be wave 3 or later in order for this BCP to actually be possible to be realistic

i think this is a bit of a mixed bag, more so than the actual BCP. this might not make sense, but i feel the track list doesnt have a lot of "flow". like, riverside park as the first non-tour track? and then daisy cruiser right afterwards? while both of those tracks are pretty easy, i dont think theyre as simple as the openers we actually got. toad circuit and choco mountain dont have a lot going on when compared to riverside and cruiser. sure, choco mountain has the bats and boulders, but i feel they're less of an obstacle and more of a spectacle, especially compared to the ptooies. say what you will about Toad's circuit, but it works as a simple first course for beginners. by putting it in the turnip cup, youre removing its entire purpose. swapping the rainbow roads is also sorta weird too. sure, 3DS is more grandiose, but Wii is the fan favourite, and i dont know if having it as the halfway point would allow it to hit as hard as it did. and not having LA in wave 5 is weird, since it always seemed like an obligatory summer course to me. it'd be like having Amsterdam in wave 3. i could go on with other small placement nitpicks (although airship fortress as the penultimate wave 3 track is genius.) these are all admittedly small issues since the track selections themselves are really good, but their placements and order could definitely be tweaked.

I definitely get where you're coming from. The way I see it, Nintendo lives off of being unpredictable. Traditional wisdom would usually have them starting off with a circuit, but we've also seen Moo Moo Meadows and Peach Beach lead off shell cups too. I also think 3DS RR ordinarily is seen as stronger than Wii RR. (at least in prior years). There's been a lot of recency bias though and it's syncing up with a Wii nostalgia tidal wave, I think. Typically happens 15 years later when the kids grow up. Surprisingly, LA was originally in Wave 4 too!

I think including snow land is kinda important as it is a fan favorite now and it really sucked before with the earthquake so bringing it back and fixing it seems important. I also think N64 Bowser's castle would be a better fit than GBA Bowser's castle 4, as i'm pretty sure it's a fan favorite track, and it would be nice to give it an upgrade. @koosloo_ulia Жыл бұрын
As nice as having 2 bowsers castles is, due to the way the tour version of Bowser Castle 4 is made it physically can’t be ported without issues: the track is a one lap in tour with 2 sections. You can’t just artificially cram in a third section because that’d be the same length as playing any given course only to lap 2, and you can’t make it 2 full, sectionless laps without it being equivalent to playing any track for 4 laps. Scaling could help but you’d need to scale it BIG time, which would make things either super crammed and tight or overly open and boring. There just isn’t a world were BC4 works out. 3DS BC is the only alternative to it if you’d want 2 separate BCs in the BCP.
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
I don't agree that there's no logistical way. 8DX runs much faster than Tour; that's why they were able to retain 3 laps for Wii RR, which is built similarly to BC4 in Tour. Worst case scenario you could always go the Wario Colosseum route if you think it'd be pushing 3+ minutes. I think they could scale it smaller in 8DX though without ruining it's playability too - the track has many long straights. They probably made it bigger than it needed to be in Tour just so it wasn't completed in under a minute.
@koosloo_ulia Жыл бұрын
@@HDRookie yes it has straight aways but it also has a lot of narrow sections, thats why its hard to scale because you can’t make one work without ruining the other. As for the Wii RR example, it’s incredibly obvious that tours version of Wii rainbow road was meant to be the normal 2 laps. However it got scaled up so that they could justify splitting it in half. There is a reason everyone hates tour version of Wii RR: it isn’t made with tour in mind, but instead 8DX. So when they found out you could get a stupidly high score in it, they took the easy way out and scaled it so it could be scaled back down for 8.
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
@koosloo_ulia I don't think BC4 can't be fixed at all still. The track worked in MKSC already, and the main difference was despite all the turns being there, they didn't make it larger. I do get that messing with the proportions can make the finished product uneven, if they don’t rescale it all. But you can make the entire map 10% smaller - and that wouldn't force them to change the angles of any turns at all. I think most of the tracks was quite wide too. Personally, I think BC4 was not really a great fit in Tour either, despite that being the only game the remake launched for
@koosloo_ulia Жыл бұрын
@@HDRookie Even 10% is a notable amount for some sections like the pillars, image being a lightweight on that section with other players. BC4 was definitely a bad pick for tour, but that doesn't make it a good pick for 8. Its just without scaling, which would still mess things up as I have restated, a track that has 2 sections can't be ported to a game with 3 sections (especially when the only 3 section in tour, 3DS RR, proves that 3 are the only way things can work due to how well it plays)
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
@@koosloo_ulia I'm aware that 10% is a notable amount - I still think it would work fine scaled down. Most of the track is longer than it needs to be and plenty of tracks have thin sections. But none of the non city Tour nitros are labeled with a Tour prefix, and it’s to prevent confusion. They could get away with just calling those “brand new” because there’s simply no reason to question it. If Madrid Drive was added to the BCP before Tour, they can’t just get away with calling it “brand new” because then that’s weird in context to everything else. If Shy Guy Bazaar and a (SNES) Bowser's Castle track is in BASE 8, which track you would put instead in the Booster Course Pass?
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
If a SNES BC was in base 8, we wouldn't need an extra BC per say outside of BC4. I'd probably look into a KB/CI/GV track for SMK and leave RIW in for 3DS courses
@Fitz_Sports28 күн бұрын
The fixed Booster Course Pass looks even better and I definitely play it if it was actually legit. The only thing I still despise is Toad Circuit being there still, and no Pipeline? Tbh I still keep one of the tracks that you cut such as Moonview Highway because I personally think it looks great still and I personally wouldn’t have VL2 even though it was one of the SNES tracks to not get remade in a mainline Mario Kart game. I think the fixed BCP looks great but I would still keep Moonview and add in Pipeline and cut TC and not include VL2. Other than that, I still love it, I know it’s been one year but I still think this is what I wish Nintendo did instead.

Someone made a mod of this apparently. It'd personally be ideal if they redid the textures for Toad Circuit though, lol

So Toad’s Circuit being in MK8DX means that the next game will have to have Figure 8 Circuit!? Yes!!!
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily now, haha. Don't think you're ever going to have a situation where one very simple track won't be in though.

People forget that Toad Circuit being bad is not an objective fact, it's an opinion. Seeing it return might make someone smile because they are nostalgic about it or they love the music. That happens to me with Wii Luigi Circuit.

Always love seeing MC3 getting the axe it deserves. It felt the least fitting out of all the BCP courses, and why Nintendo brought it back in the first place is beyond me.

to be fair, the reason SNES courses are rarely picked as retro courses is that they are really basic and simple, but would need significant overhauls like they did with Bowser Castle 3

It's the hope that BC3 is the new template again for the future

yeah since BC3 should be the template of how to modernize an SNES track going forward

Man I really hope Sunset wilds and DK summit can be brought back relatively soon in future games which can properly transfer it on the hardware. Obvious Sunset and layout issues with Sunset Wilds, but blizzard and physics issues for DK Summit

Not sure DKS has a shot. Kinda feels like they brought back the half pipes specifically for it in the BCP.
@thisisthisis542 Жыл бұрын
@@HDRookie yeah and after playing it more and more, I’m pretty satisfied with it. Still the absolute legend of a track that it was, just without a blizzard. Sunset Wilds had resounding feedback though, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was brought back pretty soon

I honestly think that it might be a good idea to replace toad circuit with mk7's mario circuit but idk Maybe add anti-grav to the castle where you drive on the walls or smth?
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
Starting to get heavy on Mario Circuits in that timeline. MC is the better track, but TC was going to come back eventually. We still get to look forward to MC in the future now instead of dreading a TC remake, is how I see it.

I disagree with toad circuit staying (very unpopular real) because i think the track in 7 was a fine starter course, but theres issues in 8 1. Mario Kart Stadium is arguably better 2. 3DS has better mushroom cup tracks 3. I feel like the track itself isnt bad, but it gives that impression because of bad textures/lazy models that could be fixed next game, as well as being track 50 in the game (and even higher for you). And before you say we needed basic circuit tracks desperately, sure, but toad circuit is almost too basic for DLC of a game that released in 2014. Also, if you kept daisy circuit, we wouldve had plenty of circuits anyways
@HDRookie Жыл бұрын
Well, swapping it with Daisy Circuit would also break my guideline of 1 course per game per wave, since I'd have 7 Wii tracks. That was just my personal rule though!

Personally, I would kick Toad Circuit down the road, so we can replace it with Figure 8 Circuit. That course is in desperate need of a remake and having it in 8 would make perfect sense (though idk if it or shroom ridge should get the wave 1 spot)
@HDRookie3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't disagree, it just wasn't eligible in this experiment since it wasn't a Mario Kart Tour course

Pretty sure Madrid drive came out in July this year. So it's impossible to have that in wave 5.
@goatprince1 Жыл бұрын
Madrid was released in August, but it's been in a fully complete state since at least October or November of 2022 according to its render dates. So it could have theoretically been released earlier in the year by the Tour developers and thus viable for Wave 5.

On one hand I understand your defense of Toad Circuit. On the other hand Figure 8 Circuit for Mario Kart 8, its a match made in heavan (though I doubt they'd do figure 8 and Mario Circuit from DS at the same time so maybe replace it with a Star cup track from 7 to comphensate, I'd go with Wario Shipyard personally)

I would've swapped TC for F8C, had it been in Tour. And maybe pair it with 3DS MC
