I fixed water in the trunk of my VW Touareg TDI

My 2012 VW Touareg came with few problems. One of them was water in the trunk. I was able to succesfully identify the problems and fix it. The issue was caused by a bad sunroof drain. The trunk is now dry for over 8 month.

Same issue with the 2009 model. First they said it were my rear light rubbers which i replaced. Still poolparty in my trunk. After your drain sunroof test it turns out to be that. Thanx bro!

Great mechanick thanks for the video ,i had also a water problem at the passinger seat ,and ifound the problem under the car at the drainplug from the airco . This plug was constipated ,and i had 3 liter of drain water in my car .

Hi! Got FL in Russia. I'd like to recommend to check intake(throttle body) - EGR makes it full of exhaust dirt. Lots of Russian owners prefer to stop EGR electronically and sometimes even dismount it from the engine. That's a real engine killer... Then check the sealing between engine and gear box - typical Touareg issue. P.S. Also bought it after infifniti FX37- and was the same questions to it:fuel economy, trunk etc

Should I buy one used with 40000 miles. 3.0tdi v6 well maintained. How is the sound insulation inside the car when the car is at around 80-100 mph? do we hear the engine noise? Would like to see a driving video like 'autotopnl'. Loving ur work and dedication.

Mine has no sunroof, the only problem I have with 150000 kms is that I get some smoke in the cabin, I think I have a little oil leak in the engine. Otherwise a great vehicle!

This is great, but do you have a video on HOW to REMOVE those interior panels in the cargo area? I have the exact same water leak problem in my 2013 Touareg! Some water is dripping from the rear drain by the wheel, where it's supposed to, but an equivalent amount drips INSIDE the car. Left side only.

Just pull, normally they ara attached with clamps connecting to the car body metal sheet.

Great video! I just noticed the same problem after I took my car to the shop for a regular service. They said that they also checked the sunroof, so probably they messed up something there. Does your sunroof make popping noises when opening? I had the sunroof changed once, when it was under guarantee because of these noises, but the new one got the same problem after 1 year. The Touareg is a great car, but man, there is a lot that can go wrong.. plus the maintenance costs in Germany are ridiculous.

Great video! Have the same car year and color, they are great but the leaking problem, man! I checked everything pulled the liner and found where it leaks and it’s not the drains. It’s from the plastic tray that act as a gutter, any idea? Thanks!

I have a problem with sunroof but in front . In July I bring it to the dealer and the change my gasket from the sunroof. But few days ago.. after 3 months.. again I have a leak in front . I dismount in the driver side to check if the hose is in the right place. Surprise.. the hose is there but.. again is leaking from the gasket.. Monday I should call the dealer and I hope they will fix it in warranty becouse I should have 1 year warranty. If they don't fix it know I don't know what to do (buy one without sunroof) .

Haqve a 2004. Same pool party in the trunk, but wet interior seems to trip up entire electronics. All systems fail until car dries out - tire pressure, brakes warnings, "take to work shop". Anybody else?

i just got my toureg same like yours, but my one when you push the gas slowly give lite shake, did your one have this problem? because this is my firt disell car and i dont now maybe their are all diesels like this

Mine started doing it this winter when cold. Only in the first acceleration when still cold. Have not diagnosed it yet. Dealer could not replicate. Few possible issues: fuel pump, glow plug, moisture in intercooler, etc.

Have them check the turbo controls. Mine was doing something like that and it was fixed under warranty!

@@b3119 I have the same problem with my 2016 VW Touareg TDI. It shakes a bit when I accelerate at lower speeds 25-30. Dealer could figure out the problem. If you know what it could be, please let me know. Thank you

@@yankeedoodle6293 there is a sensor in the air stream that provides feedback to the turbo boost and injection mapping. They replaced it and reflashed the computer and all was corrected.

Had it for almost a year and put over 15k miles. Fixed the issues it came with in the first month. Had check engine twice. Took it to the dealer twice since it is under warranty fir another 3 years. My favorite SUV!
