Wisk's been around for a decade? How the hell they've been surviving that long with just prototypes, no IPO and no revenue streams?

They're living off of VC cash injections; several funding rounds of it, I would guess.

Good luck early adopters, I will remain fine with no need for this.

Multiple propellers and/or rotors is not the future. That tech takes up too much space. You want a practical flying car/air taxi, look to improve the vectored thrust tech of the old Harrier jump jet.

The flying taxi has already flown over Christchurch in New Zealand for aviation authorities to assess, flown without incident. Beats sitting on a congested motorway/ freeway for hours. I'm old, so the future is here already.

Hopefully this technology will be applied to gyrocopters as well in that they are easier to fly than a helicopter and cheaper to buy as well as maintain but accidents do happen due to pilot error. These could be used as a copilot to help the human more safely fly a gyrocopter. This could enable more to be able to both afford to fly as well as do so with enhanced safety.

Nope. Judgement not skills in this department. Not everyone has the forethought in the mission

this is the end of pilots.

so if self-driving vehicles can still crash... but the driver still has the ability to override the auto-controls... "As safe as todays air transportation system" which may not have as many crashes, but has numerous close calls daily along with mechanical failures that require a pilot... why would anyone get into an "aircraft", without a pilot, that is 100% computer controlled, and your Customer Service Agent doesn't even have the ability to override a computer malfunction? Computer glitches happen... and what happens if your "touch screen" goes BLANK... OOOOPSY... Where's the parachute?...

Beats flying using your feet or 5th appendage.

So a malfunction will be fixed by plugging and plugging the power? Automation isn't the answer, And the FAA is about Regulation ONLY , Not safety Not Technology Not Experts If you think other wise go get boosted
