Hey Rampage! Just wanted to drop some support. In case you see this, I know this must be a hard time for you. A lot of us still support you, and taking a break won’t change that. A lot of us wouldn’t mind if you made other content for a bit and watch you study playing poker. Hope everything is going well outside of Poker!

On the kings if you called his next move was very possibly a continuation to all in. It would have been scary but as you were already willing to go all in by betting it first, if you called instead I think you were more likely for it to happen by letting him lead with it.

Hey Rampage, been loving the videos for over a year now. As you're an ambassador for WPT Global, just want to let you know that the touted "deposit matching" is not true at all! In my estimation, actually false advertising. It is my fault for not reading the small print. Just trusted the advertising blind - so if you get 30% "matched" you'll be lucky. Just so you know. I have learnt my next lesson and will close/delete the app once funds are cleared. Good luck at the tables

On AK hand there are merits to both going allin on turn & just calling. Going allin gives you protection & charge draws with bad price. Just calling keeps all the bluffs in & on brick run-outs you have a chance to get it all.

@@ryanprickette9520QJh isn’t a minraise in that spot, you get no fold equity against a preflop 3 bettor with the betting lead. The raise would have to be much higher - the minraise actually can induce shoves like we saw, so you might see it with 10s full

On the AK hand I think he has a K and was trying to get to showdown cheaply. His point of view would be: he thinks you call, then check river to him amd he checks back vs if he just called he would face a river bet larger than 2.5k. When you re-raise all in he knows you not on a draw but have his trips beat and so is able to fold. That's My thinking of how he played it. What could you do differently? Perhaps reraise smaller than all in?

Definitely think you should’ve just called on that AK hand. The hands are behind. Have you drawing almost dead, and the king, queen/king Jack, hands are drawing almost dead to you. By putting him all in there, you give him an out. The only downside is by calling and having the flush come through, but I think he is more representing a king or a hand that has you beat. And you obviously can’t fold there, so I think the call is correct.
@tlea319 ай бұрын
Hi Ethan the AK hand I would also have jammed. By just calling you are relying on him bluffing when the river bricks out. He may not always do that. Charge him for that extra card. It is very unlikely he has KT, as there is only one combo left of KT suited. KTo ought not be calling a 5x 3 bet pre, and neither should 44.

Ethan! Your decision on the AK hand is fully dependent on your read of the situation. If you believe he had bluffs, and a very small range of value, why raise? I think a raise is snapped off by a super small portion of Kx that u are beating and folding all of the bluffs. I think your line is particularly bluffy and he tried to make a move. I agree that calling is extremely strong, but if you were prepared to stack off against K10 or 1010 already, why fold out his bluffs. QhJh is the one true hand to be afraid of? And are u even afraid of that hand/ do we believe he raises and then sticks it in with QhJh? I don’t think that hand likes raising at all given the flop. In my opinion, facing a 3 bet pre, and seeing 2 kings on the flop, too few of his hands are able to call the turn raise that aren’t dominating you. I’d argue it’s a wildly negative EV play because of the such few hands villain is able to call with. Please anyone seeing this let me know your thoughts!

If it gets to showdown; if a dude mucks after I show, I can still ask the dealer to see the cards if I want to see what he was playing. But only at show down. It’s a general rule but house rules vary. I have never seen a house rule that denies a player in the hand from requesting to see cards mucked at showdown. Granted, few people request it as for some reason it’s considered rude. However, if you do it. Be prepared for them to demand to see your cards at showdown. All I’m saying is unless it was against a house rule and he wanted to see the cards, he could have as the hand did get to showdown. It’s called showdown for a reason. There used to be a guy at my local who had a “nobody mucks on me” rule. At every River he was in he would say, “unless he folds I want to see his cards, no mucking.” Pissed a lot of people off but they couldn’t deny him.
@tommyfu927110 ай бұрын
@@thatguy2408 in Vegas out of position shows first when the river goes check/check. it's a bad rule but it's the rule there. So he had to show first and then his opponent mucked. The floor absolutely can refuse to show the other guys hand if you asked. That rule is to prevent collusion not to give you info on how your opponent plays. You show , he mucks and you ask to see it- you're literally accusing him of colluding with you. Any halfway decent floor would tell the dealer not to show the other hand if they're called over. When i play people like the one you described and they show I shove my cards into the muck if i can't beat it. You absolutely can deny them. Several times when I've done this and the guy called the floor I explained why I did it and every time the floor told my opponent I was correct. 20 or so years ago it was more common for people to ask to see hands that were going to be mucked and for dealers and floor to go away with it but as time goes on that kind of nonsense is less and less tolerated.

@@tommyfu9271 yes. When it’s checked around first to act is the one required to show. If it’s bet and called all the way around the player who opened action Needs to show. If it’s bet/raise it’s the last player to increase the action that needs to show. But all players in the hand at “showdown” have a right to request to see cards. Haven’t played in Nevada in decades, but at my local If the request is put forth, the cards are shown (as long as it easily determined which two cards were the opponents). I rarely see it done these days. I haven’t seen the “nobody mucks on me” guy for quite some time. I’ve never asked cuz mostly I just want to keep the game moving. The more hands per hour the better.
