Very cool, Brent! He had that heli at an event here in Texas, along with some of his other scale birds. Really cool. You're a natural, you need to fly helis more. :) They will certainly teach you how to use that left thumb, especially once you start venturing into aerobatics with helis. I like hurting my brain by alternating between planes and helis. Keeps me sharp.

I really enjoyed watching Michael fly his scale heli. Scale helicopters are very cool. Great job Brent on your first try.

Really good to see you stepping out of your normal comfort zone, Michael certainly did a nice job of explaining and talking you through those early stages

You did a great job flying that heli. I have always been hoping someone would come out with a 700 size of that model.

Thanks! It is a Buamodel S-51/H-5 Fuselage sold by Tyler Grey Models. The mechanics are a Trex 500ESP stretched to run 500mm blades.

You both did very well. I think you need to get up to speed with one of those - and keep it on standby for when a model rescue is required.

Don’t see any issue for you on helicopters. Some sim practices and that’s it…if somebody flies a Bearcat like you do, piece of cake😉…and this comes from a heli guy

So, was it a RTF, kit, or scratch-built? I found one that looks just like it on the "Soul of Scale RC" KZbin channel. The video which was posted 4 days ago was of the maiden flight. It was a custom build, so I assume it's the same one. If so, Mike knows his stuff..

It was a kit. The airframe is a Buamodel (sold by Tyler Grey models) fuselage, with a stretched Trex 500ESP running 500mm blades and a longer main shaft. Mechanics have also been converted to run scale CCW rotation.
