Yesssss!!!! I HAVE BEEN SO PUMPED FOR THIS!!!! The show does have very shocking nude and bloody scenes but the story and comedy is 100% worth sticking with it. Also the shocking graphic stuff is in the show as a homage to the original comics that it is based off of. Also I think it is an intelligent way to set itself apart from other super hero stuff.

Do not forget to watch the spin-off Gen V after you finish S3 of The Boys. The show starts after S3, and it's very interconnected, and the events of that show lead right into S4 of The Boys, so you gotta watch it if you want to fully understand S4, and unlike a lot of spin-offs, Gen V is actually on par with The Boys in many aspects; it had great acting, cinematography, writing, and incredible complex characters.

In case no one's mentioned it, Garth Ennis (the comic writer)'s original idea was to have Hughie, Butcher, etc. in the DC Comics universe and expose how superheroes are actually awful, literally using Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. and showing them being secret monsters. DC wouldn't let him do that, so he created thin analogies for Superman (Homelander), Wonder Woman (Maeve), The Flash (A-Train), Aquaman (The Deep), and kinda Batman (Black Noir). The series started out at Wildstorm Comics (then a division of DC), so it was pretty easy for DC to say "No, you can't make Superman shoot down a civilian plane." It was then cancelled after six issues, so the Homelander, Maeve, etc. rights passed back to Ennis, making it was that much easier to use his characters, clear parodies as they were (and thus protected by fair use), than to try to go back to his earlier plan. The series was then picked up by Dynamite and became the series (and spin-offs and sequels) that are on Prime today. The more you know! ;)

As disturbing as a lot of moments in this show are, I’ve actually gotten to enjoy this show. It’s become one of my absolute favorites. I know season 4 is fast approaching, but when you finish season 3 don’t dive into the new season just yet. There’s a spin-off that’s tied to the events of this show. It’s called Gen V. The first season is 8 episodes long just like each season of The Boys, and it serves as a bridge that connects seasons 3 and 4.

Fun fact just in case nobody else has commented. If it's very deep in the Commons already I'm sorry for saying it again. But homelander was actually a property of DC Comics quite a long time ago. It was back in the early 2000s I believe when the boys comic book and they struggled for quite a little bit actually trying to get a comic book series started because DC came in and had a problem with them using homelander since he was already a DC character.

If im not mistaken Season 4 is due this month. June 13th i think. I would recommend checking out Gen V which is same universe and some of the same actors. I don't want to spoil anything but it looks like Gen V intertwines abit with The boys. So recommend watching seas 1 of Gen V before Season 4 of The Boys. Also Id say Gen V is even more effed up then The boys.
