Howdy Master Seyran ! I loved your video, all the way thru! I showed my girlfriend , the first part of your video of you slurping your tea & blowing “steam-smoke” I got a chuckle out of another glympse of your lace-up boots! Thank you for all of the little things that you show us in your videos that we ask about , we are very curious about a man that doesn’t talk , but yet, sings to his forge-fire !! And special thanks for showing us how you sharpen your knives on a leather strop ?! You will always have me as a fan ! 🤠

This is indeed an amazing work. What is this process of making tools by joining several iron pieces called? Please take the trouble to answer.
@masterknives55514 күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! The process of making tools by joining several pieces of iron or steel is called forge welding. This involves heating the metal pieces to a high temperature, often with the use of flux (like borax) to prevent oxidation, and then hammering them together until they bond into a single solid piece. It's a traditional blacksmithing technique used to create strong, layered materials like Damascus steel. 😊🔨

@masterknives55515 күн бұрын

I have never seen a metal pencil, I think there is a little trickery going on here. Was this video shot on April 1st. . LOL 😂
@masterknives55514 күн бұрын
This is actually a ceramic tile cutting metal pencil, not trickery! 😊 It's a fun and unique material to work with for a project like this.

What does the white powder you sprinkle on the metal do?
@Marcus_Shaw15 күн бұрын
It's flux, probably Borax. The temperature needed to forge weld the metal is higher than the temperature needed to forge to shape. The flux is added to help lower the temperature needed for the surfaces become fluid, while also helping to reduce scaling, resulting in a cleaner more consistent weld 👍

Those "pencils" look like nails, but who cares because it was fun to watch anyways, mad skills. All you're missing is a bald head and long beard, for that stereotype image.
