Have been suggested a number of videos about rediscovering love for photography and found this one. Immensely important to be reminded of the ‘basics’ and what got us going.

Good to see the return of the selfie - it's been imitated by others, but never bettered. For me photography is what gets me out, but actually taking photographs is very much secondary to being out experiencing the beauty of nature. Of course if I can then capture some of that beauty in a photograph for others to appreciate then all the better. But nothing will ever capture that feeling of just being there, more so if I have made some effort to actually get there. For me the best vlogs are those that focus on the photographer being out, enjoying, experiencing, and then capturing, the landscape rather than showing them just taking shot after shot after shot after shot.

Very true, Landscape photography is a great way to be in nature, disconnect from humanity and reconnect with nature. Problem is then you share your image and people ask for gps coordinates (yep a certain compton asked me this) and then you repeatedly see the same composition of the same image hundreds of times on social media and suddenly you don't feel that disconnect and you just feel that everything is becoming too much of a toxic competition. Everyone wants to seem like they were original when shooting the same ship wrecked boat as the other hundred people that day. Glad to see you were out and just having fun with it. I found a good way to have fun is remove myself from all those toxic communities that have sprouted up where it is just digital willy waving!
@ChrisSalePhoto3 жыл бұрын
Oh dear Adam - that doesn't sound good. I don't pay much attention to what others are doing these days, just concentrate on myself. I found that there was so much in fighting and bitchiness going on in the 'community' that I decided a couple of years back that I wanted nothing more to do with it. I really only speak to Jules and Sam Bose these days. I do miss some of the other guys, James Burns and Tom Peters in particular, good blokes those two.

I have to be honest, I am not the best with the telephoto. Of the three lenses I normally use of landscape photography it is the one I use least. If I did get the 55-200 it would probably spend most of it's time in the bag. An area for me to work I perhaps.

Love a good mountain selfie :) I think theres a lot of snobbery surrounding landscape photography so it makes me happy that there is a photographer out there I cn relate too in this sense. A beautiful scene, me looking into the distance.....love it haha I use my drone for this too, I don't even mind putting myself in my KZbin videos either which I do with the drone. If you can't love yourself how can you love anyone or anything else after all :)

Thanks Nigel, but that would give me even less range that the 15-45 that I already have. I tried it with my EF 16-35 but it was too heavy - kind of defeats the point of a lightweigh setup. I am surprised more manufacturers don't make lenses for the EF-M mount.
