Jeremy inspired me to get into Dead by Daylight. Today i played my first match. i chose to start out as survivor and all went very well actually. eluded the killer in a chase, fixed two gens, unhooked a few teammates and never got hooked. We went to exit and my teammate was there working on the exit controls. Or so i thought instead they body blocked them and by the time i realized it it was to late to get to the other door. With seconds to spare the killer downed the body blocker but it was to late we all died. I already hate this game.

Tbh at least you learned DbD's most important lesson right away: your fellow survivor will always be more toxic than any killer could possibly be
i've only ever purposely DCd in this game once and that was only because the killer took the game hostage. killed all my teammates, kept knocking me down and letting me go but not letting me do gens. i did several laps around the map and couldn't find hatch (this was a long time ago so i feel like it might have just. not spawned for some reason.), so i got fed up with it after like 45 minutes and just left the game.

A possible solution to reduce tunneling, is if the survivor being tunneled is downed a second time, and no other survivor is hooked in-between, that survivor gets a drastic increase in chance to wiggle free from the killer.
@SapientGalaxy2 ай бұрын
So many people play like that Dracula 45 minutes in and it's just so miserable. "I'm going to pick a killer than can move quickly and just soft camp the hooks so the moment someone is unhooked I can go for the person doing the unhook." Like that's barely better than just camping and tunneling people out. I do enjoy this game, but good lord do a sizable chunk of the playerbase make that difficult. At 48:30 the dude was chasing someone else but gave up that chase to target the person doing the unhook. You are just a scumbag if you play that way.

Mr. Dooley how dare you get me into this game. I now main the clown and i go around giving people speed boosts to really confuse them. Playing as a survivor im still bad but learning. Im not good at running from the killer for a long time. The event is fun as well on both sides

Out of curiosity can the challenges be done even when you're brand new to the game? And if so would you think it's better to do adept challenges for survivors early and work on the killers later?
@NachtBogen2 ай бұрын
@@Blitzwaffen in my experience survivors seem to be easier to do early on. Most killers i delt with at my rank dont outright kill you. I ran into a few who are doing challenges like destroy pallets and often if you help it seems they let you escape. I cant say everyone will have the same experience unfortunately. Edit: sorry didnt answer your original question yeah challenges are able to be done off the bat. I got adept alan wake (love the games had to get him) on my first survivor game

BHVR give us a survivor perk where if you fully get sacrificed a gen randomly pops on the map with the least progress. "But then you could do 2 gens and everyone could die for one to live you say?" yes.. but that would be dumb of them. It would essentially take out the extra gen for the extra person assuming you get sacrificed with said perk. Also, the perk just existing and being good against said strategy would de-incentivize such play ... not all the way like how unbreakable stops slugging but enough with it being there.

I feel like the bloodpoint idea for tunneling is an ok idea, but most killers play like that, so they can pip. They don't care about the bloodpoints. So, a big penalty to like their chase or sacrifice score event so they can't pip would be a bigger promotion to not tunnel and to not camp. Let them have the BP, but don't let them pip. Don't let that play style be allowed to get ppl to iri 1 and ppl would stop playing like that. So many ppl double pip and get to iri 1 in like a week playing like that and think they're good at the game 😂 make it so they can't and they'll learn that they actually r bad at the game and should learn to play in a less serious way
@flightsnotfeelings58672 ай бұрын
One idea I was thinking is to make that person they are tunneling take 3 hits to kill. I don’t know if this is even possible. Or maybe something similar to the perk Mettle of Men, where after 3 hits (or whatever amount they decide to do), they are shielded by that next hit.
@Daeon02 ай бұрын
You.. do know that the best players in the game tunnel in comp settings if it gets them the win? Also what is that last sentence? lol. They're bad so they should play in a "less serious way" and not try to get better at the game? It's not "more skilled" to get maximum hooks before killing, you're just relying on the survivors either being terrible, not bringing meta perks, or going easy on the killer (good luck with that).
@54neon2 ай бұрын
@Daeon0 the fact u bring up comp gamers shows how cringe u r. And who says they're the best? They do. No one else. This is a party game. U have no proof ur the best. There's no leaderboards. No visual ranking. This isn't OW or Fortnite. And it takes 0 skill to camp, tunnel, or even slug. Someone with 5 minutes of gameplay can do all that. All ur showing is how low ur skill is and how low the skill ceiling is for dbd. Which is y this should be penalized in ur score events in the end of the match. And going to block u so u can say what everyone says, "it takes alot of skill to know when to slug." And no. No it doesn't.

Easy fix... You gain 50% less points for hooking a person twice in a row. And 0% for 3 times. You lose 50% of the down points if you leave a person slugged for more than 30 seconds. And for a minute or more.
