Welcome to another episode Scrap Mechanic Survival: Nomad! Today I am improving the Hank Tank's defensive capabilities by giving it a lockdown button which closes up the access points and engages defensive sawblades. Hopefully with this new function, I can actually protect a farm from a full raid!

@@doublebassdragoon2277 Look at the video when he is inspecting the damage from the farm bot (around 26:19). The suspension and steering mechanism is in there, but there is a lot of space in front of and above it. The space in front of it would be great for defensive mechanisms.

Copying the hank tank in creative and making it a flyer or vtol in scrapmechanic or trailmakers would be cool to see. With some twists of course but i dont know what could be a good twist for that challenge

Obvious idea: connect the totebot head(s) on the front to the raid mode logic to have a warning siren.

Obvious flaw, screaming totebot heads the entire time you are locked out of your vehicle and in combat Would be better if he left an access port to hop into his seat from, but that would diminish the Tank value a little.

*(QUEST UNLOCKED) 4 STORY WAREHOUSE* I think it's obvious this new 4 story warehouse needs to be cleared before we can rocket ourselves off this planet. *(SECONDARY OBJECTIVE) NO SPUD GUN* Clear the warehouse without a spud gun. Maybe make that shield wall but with piston powered saws and drills! Make the machine able to go much faster so you can run at them!

You should put automatic turrets on the sides of the Hank-Tank. A KZbinr by the name "Salty Seraph" did that for his farm, and he can just sit there and do nothing, cause no bots can get in. He made a tutorial, but you can just put a spudgun on a piston and push it along the side of your tank with a controller, and when a sensor detects something, it stops the piston and fires the gun. I have one in my own world and it works flawlessly.

It's not very heavy or expensive either, just a spudgun, some sensors, and a controller, and maybe a piston or two.

I think the sawblade - bot relationship works like this: Every bot has some sort of radius around him. If a sawblade enters this radius, the bot gets scared. If the sawblade is in this radius for long enough, the bot gets some courage and starts ignoring it. If the sawblade leaves the radius at any point of the bot's "assimilation", the "timer" gets reset. I have no personal experience with Scrap Mechanic, so this is just an assumption

Scrapman i got a decent idea, my idea is that to build a turret on top of the hank tank while doing the in and out side blades, while protecting the farm (also add lights when you make the turret)

you know, I built a 10 wheeler utility drilling vehicle, I put 1 drill on each wheel... and its roughly 2 blocks off the ground "the collector" to always collect as it drives over items... I cant always make all the hills but pistons can be used to create a lift that lifts the vehicle with some lifting wheels to help when I get stuck so I use pistons on half those 10 wheels. aside from that the rest of the vehicle is like 5 blocks off the ground and not a single block has been destroyed yet I'm 500 hours into the game now. bots just cant get close enough with all wheels having a drill and a big drill in front of course... the rear for my vehicle I have 2 wheels close together "closer then the rest of the wheels" so this creates a full 360 security shield sort of with the drills. they occasionally hit the drill but not ever has any broken and I never really get out to shoot bots I just run them over or sit next to them sometimes as I wait for them to get into position while attacking me or I move into position. and yes this does include hundreds upon hundreds maybe even a thousand or more raids from tons of farming.

take 2 tote bot heads and set them to alternate notes, and 4 lights set on bearings painted red or amber, when you engage the "raid mode" you can turn on the tote bot heads to make an alarm, alternate which one sounds, and activates the 4 lights to act as rotating warning beacons. Sorry another controller may be needed for that.

The bots move away from saw blades 3-4 times, then go at them. If they are moving on a piston this is not the case however. The same goes for Drills.

Also an idea with the saw blades an easier way to kill the bots is that’s you use bearings and extra Pistons and try to make a mechanism to actually extend the blades out and some disadvantages you can’t go trough forests easily cuz it’ll be super wide but the blades will cut the trees and another disadvantage is that you need a controller and you need 3 rotators to take out the blades
