Some early game advices/reminders: (no spoilers) 1. Raids don't trigger if you only plant 9 tomatoes/carrots/beets 2. The regular workbench has a tiny bit of storage in it (accessible by pressing "U" by default), not much, but enough to solve "inventory crisis" for a short while 3. The "cheapest" recipe for Metal 1 is the second one on the metalworking bench (it's similar to the scrap bench one, but uses less raw metal) 4. Raw Metal and Coal seem to have roughly the same spawn ratio 5. While it is a bit of a grind, it's a good idea to build at least a basic vehicle, as the locations of certain quest places are randomized and may turn out to be really far away 6. Wolves seem to spawn randomly (similar to bots in og survival), but they seem to be able to trash some of your equipment, even if you're not on the tile your base is on, so it's generally a good idea to place your base/valuable stuff, at least 7-8 blocks above the ground (cheapest way to do it is to attach a platform to Bill's house)

Scrapman!! The different benches are more efficient at certain recipes, you might be able to make X thing in the regular workbench, but it might be cheaper in the more specialized ones.

That game doesn't tell you this, but you can't build the entire wolf suit. You need the wolf head in order for wolves to ignore you when wearing the wolf clothes, which is obtained rarely from killing wolves as a drop. I did a test in my game, where I removed the head while near a wolf, and it started to attack. As soon as I reequipped the head, it stopped attacking.

Scrapman regarding the amounts of metal one crafted from the different recipes there is also a difference between the workstations so if you make the metal in the metalworking bench it will use less than with the workbench and the same applies to some other materials across all the different workbenches, and you should also make yourself a cooking bench where you can cook woc meat, the cooking bench can be made in the wood working bench btw.

Hey, just a little recomendation before you embark into the next adventure. Craft a couple of chests to free the inventory space, you won´t regret that. Also, the compact computer you had went into the crafting of the sensor 1 c;

i reccomend you make the smeltery as it has all the metal options with the best ratios possible... also you dont need to convert raw iron into scrap metal in the metalworking bench, theres 2 metal 1 options for a reason...

13:20 from the first moment you mentioned it, about the scrap workbench, its one of those craftsman benches which have small versions of certain things, specifically micro smelters, so the upgrade you are looking for is smelter to make the metals you need, and thats only from showing us the confusing array of workbenches twice by this point

Definitely work towards all the workbenches, each has its strengths and weaknesses, also stuff can get destroyed by random bulls and wolves, I spent my time building a metal 3 pole and built my base up in the air, I use a scrap seat to jump up into it.

Bill doesn't give you all the seeds initially, you must have scored some carrots seeds from a loot crate. As people have said, you can stick to 9 basic crops and avoid raids. For a fence you will need at least metal 2 or metal 3 to stop the raids breaking through. Upgrade the tools as soon as you can to make life easier, and the smelter for making metal blocks / glass is better than the benches.

Theory: the wolves use the crops to lure animals into a trap to eat them, thats why they are trying to get to them. They do what birds do, they eat then regurgitate the crops so it can stick to walls.

for better protection of the crops you can put horizontal pillars sticking out of the square, that way the wolves will be attacking one block at a time.

Well his issue was more the height, than the durability, they wolves only ever killed like 1-2 of his blocks, and he only barely had the materials for what he did

This is a stupid idea, but maybe you like the challenge: Do a scrap mechanic playthrough, but without placing any *blocks.* You can only place components: wedges, pipes, the corrugated metal panels that you can rip off of the huts around the place, wheels, pistons, suspensions, bearings, and so on. You can craft blocks, but they'd be useless to you except as crafting ingredients. The only exception would be cardboard blocks, and only for the purpose of feeding glowbugs.

in case you havent seen my coment on the last vid if you set an auto clicker to 680 miliseconds you can use the pickaxe non stop or you can just press with a delay but its a bit harder to do it like that edit: you should also make a rudamentary car its quite "fun" to make one with this mod

Tthe crafting system is a little overwhelming at first but I, at least, got used to it. I would understand if that would be a turnoff for some folks tho. It really seems like those new vacuum pipe pieces were created for a reason, and it was to make a massive assembly line for everything.. which I'm not looking forward to create lol

While there does seem to be ultimately more stuff to make, it is also obviously bloated with all the build components, that is needed to assemble the final stuff for most of the stuff, which increase the amount of recipes FAR more than the final product amount, AND also obfuscates the total cost of things, requiring almost a full on detective like work to find the full cost of stuff, and makes it just tedious to make

I rewatched the other crashlanders video and you had the compact computer in your inventory but then you fell down a rock at 21:51 and there was a cut . After that, it wasn‘t in your Inventory anymore and didn‘t appear anywhere in the video anymore.

Try not to work too hard grinding, maybe build a vehicle, but advancing the plot will give you more necessary supplies. Also dont forget this is nothing like survival! The plants and raids triggered some ptsd 😂
