It's a bug with customized characters. Trick is to bind special controls to L3 so you can just push in the stick when they show up.

So special controls are L1 by default to turn it on and off. You have to completely turn them off in the options

Im glad i found someone who has special controls randomly tweak on them and turn on at the start of the game. I literally can't just unbind the button like i want to because TWICE now in an online lobby it has turned on randomly. Luckily one of those instances was against a ghost and the other was the rank calibration bot but dammit that was enough to give me hella trust issues.

Yeah the exact same thing happened to me and I had to learn my lesson the hard way lol. I unbinded the button then jump in a lobby with my homie on his stream and it was on by itself. I couldn't turn it off in match so I just had to let the person win, back out, and bind the button again. Kind of annoying tbh but not the end of the world. Hopefully it gets fixed though.

While infinite stages are cool, they promoted defensive play for T7 as you could just keep away, that's rather antithetical to the aggressive play pushed in T8 so I don't mind there not being any infinite stages Also please bro I need to see you and Doto playing more Tekken together

It’s personally my favorite fighting game. The only has improved immensely and if you use a wired connection you won’t run into any stuttering unless your opponent plays on McDonald WiFi.

Only get a stick if you absolutely want to use one or if you feel comfortable using one already. Highkey there no real edge from either of them. If you’re worried about harder inputs like 2+4 or 1+3 you can bind them to one button. Honestly the only controller that gives you an edge in fighting games is a hitbox.

Victor is top tier in Tekken 8. The characters you used him against are mid at best. You can tell Victor and even Raven will always be at the top because they move fast, strike fast and does crazy amounts of damage when they combo you making sure you can't do too much. Eventually just like most fighting games that is all you will see is the top tier characters. This is why fighting games don't last long lol. They can't really have everyone be top tier. This in turn makes the game in a stand still. I know Tekken 8 tried to make it skill based and so really good pro players can most likely make anyone great. It's going to be because of the movesets the characters have. Movement is everything in a game especially on punishing your opponent. Tekken 8 is a great game and i can see some tournaments but the question will be how enjoyable would it be especially seeing a mirror match maybe a few times.
