I took a trip to visit Junkyard Digs who has a HUGE stash of Honda 3 wheelers! 23 3 wheelers to be exact- ATC 200s, ATC 110, ATC 125, and more. In today's episode of CarsandCameras, we take a handful of these abandoned Honda ATC 3 wheelers, make them run, and take them for a ride!
Thanks for Watching!

Pretty sweet! Been a mechanic for 30 years now. I've slowed down a bit with age, but when I was your age, buying broken down motorcycles (All types, dirt, street, crotch rock or cruiser) and bringing them back to life was a hobby. I don't do it anymore but I am helping my neighbor re-piston a jet ski he just bought. :-) cheers fellows!

Apparently these were more reliable in the 90's. The most I owned at once was 5, three of which were loaners, my 250R which I had more money in than my daily driver, and a very torquey Frankenstein 3 wheeler which was a 185S with a worked over 200 top end, big carb and supertrapp exhaust. The suspension front end was off a big red, so it always looked like it was going up hill. The 250R was a Glamis only ATC with a wide axle and extended swingarm and way to much power for the desert. My in-laws had a house right on the edge of the desert and always wanted to go riding with me. They kept beating up my 185S so I bought 2 200S and a 200M which had electric start. The problem was they would try to keep up with me on my XR350 R (one cylinder, two carbs, 4 valves and duel exhaust, ... and just two wheels, fast) and end up in some cactus somewhere. Picking cactus needles out of my wife's brothers ass was not something I signed up for in the vows. Otherwise good times, and I still wish I would have kept some of my toys from those days. My FJ 1100 Yamaha, my XR350 R, and my 250R. But I'm 55 and still alive, and still have a 1200 cc street bike. Thanks for the memories. P.S. I think the video will get "BLOED UP".

The 3 wheel ATV ban of the early 80's has runout so technically manufacturers could start building 3 wheel ATV's again. They got a bad reputation because people were letting kids ride them that were way to young.
@effyoo6081
@effyoo6081 3 жыл бұрын
Check out the documentary on why they were banned. Nothing to do with age and everything to do with center of gravity. If you don't lean your entire weight to one side during a turn, you're going over. And you're probably right that kids did not have to weight to counterbalance the way three wheelers needed to be riden.

I had the 350cc big red sat in a garden no cover for 3 years in the shitty uk weather living close to the coast so extra salt in the air made the engine casing look fluffy from oxidizing ..rims where on the floor the tyres where that flat and weeds grown around the engine ... Bit of fresh fuel down the bore and it fired up instantly.. after cleaning carb it started and drove itself out its own grave ... Bloody immortal them things are

That 200m that he was pointing at was an 84' 200s. 200M models have orange on the gas tank decal. They ran those to 1986 (atleast for the 200s model).

24:17, I give a solid 5/7 for effort!!! Didn't see anyone ridin' side-wheelies though... turn it up and into a crooked bike. Might have to make some 3-wheeler videos myself this weekend. XD

Love the old 3 wheelers. Had a 250sx a 250r and a 200x. I loved the 200x the most. I could go places 4 wheelers couldn't. Right now i only have a 84 350 Forman . Love the old machines.

The 250R was a screamer but if you can get your hands on twin cylinder 350X which is a torque monster you won’t be disappointed. The other key trike to get would be a 200X. The 200’s you guys are working with are good river trikes because they float, just don’t tip them in the water.

Growing up I had the best time riding 3 wheelers. I had a 200x, a 250r and my favorite was my 350x because it was great in the snow. I owned a few 4 wheelers when the 3 wheelers disappeared and my 450r was sweet but I never really liked it as much as that 350x

As a kid I remember going to my grandparents and my uncle would always drag out a Honda Big Red three wheeler. Pretty sure it was a '84 or '85 250es. I've look at getting one simply for nostalgic reasons. At 10 years old on a flat farm road in SE MO I had that thing pegged as fast as it would go!! So much fun!

if you hold the shifter down in first and rev it and slowly let off the shifter it acts like a clutch...works good in certain problems pulling or stuck...no bearing in the front? pack with grease! lol also drill grease fittings into the rear bearing housing so you dont get washed out bearings after driving in alot of water or the chain will start falling off when the rear gets wiggly

I always wanted to take a 250R and turn it into a far tire dirt bike. I had a Yamaha big wheel 80 when I was a kid and loved it. It would be sick to have a fast one built using a 250r to start out with.
