I found it on idealista, it looks like very big project and I'm talking around 50k just from the first glance it could be more. By the time you move in with taxes and furniture and unexpected additional work you reach 90-100k just to be in small town 40 km away from the closest beach. This is just shows that Torrevieja is still absolute bargain for what it offers and for it's property prices.

What I like about this properties is that they have not had their features spoiled by over modernisation. I prefer original features.

Aspe can see snow in the winter, so be warned of the weather contrast to Alicante city.

Fantastic video of Aspen Barry. Thanks for sharing it with us. Just the sort of town I like like, away from the tourist centers. Keep up the great work Barry and please wish Karen a full and speedy recovery.

The trees are strategically placed there to provide shelter from the summer sun.

Could do with loads more trees in Alicante, Torrevieja and all over. Sadly the sidewalks are so narrow they can’t do it.

Most of these houses probably need minimum of 50k to renovate . If the roof needs doing even more ! Then a garage , rented or bought , will need to be found . They are cheap for a reason .
@ScottishCoupleInSpain6 ай бұрын
That’s NOT always the case. Our mates at Mountain View farm did up a house with under 10k
@winstrolchurchill8216 ай бұрын
No way 50k not a chance that’s a very good bargain

Most of those streets are too busy or too narrow . On top of that is the problem of the vehicle being hit while parked or vandalism . It happens .

@@winstrolchurchill821Most old Spanish houses have no dpc so injection needed , plastering to follow up , windows , tiling , electrics , plumbing , kitchen , bathroom suite , council taxes , heating , plus unpredicted costs . Believe me after renovating 4 Spanish properties I have seen the costs first hand . Old Spanish houses are money pits .
@louisemccartney41496 ай бұрын
There's no dpc because of earthquakes. The house shifts & causes cracks which makes the dpc fail. You cant inject either because they use honeycomb brick. You've to tank the walls, which on the scale of things is cheap. Besides, some people want to do work, what odds

27K. Not exactly uncommon here is it. It will no doubt need twice that in structural renovation. But yeah. Loads of properties available at those sort of prices and less.

You need to tell your country folk the truth. I've been working in the hotel bussiness for many years and I know very well the people from all over Europe. I bet you whatever you want that an Scottish, Irish, or any other part of the British Islands people wouldn't last there for a week, let alone long periods if you own a property.. For starters, no matter this is close to an Airport, in those old Spanish little towns, nobody speaks English, nor they are to learn to speak to some dude who bought a house in town, and the foreign newcomer, who is going to be of certain age, sure as hell is not going to learn the particular Spanish spoken in that part of the Country, it is not always the same accent at all .Forget about things like golf or rugby, nobody in Spain gives a shit about those things, only a handful may be down in Malaga or near Cadiz where getting a house close to a golf course is unaffordable if you are not Jack NIcklaus then the fact that these days more and more, people is pissed with foreigners buying property only for the locals to be displaced to the worst places in any given city or town. Trust me because I live in one of those little old middle age towns. I wouldn't mind because i traveled the world and lived away most of my life but in the current state of things and political climate you wouldn't be welcome for sure, so tell the truth to your followers. It's like the other way around. Imagine a guy from Castilla or even Alicante going to live to a small cottage in the Highlands? or Close to Edimburgh? with no bullfighting and the disgusting weather, the terrible accent and outrageous prices for everything? exactly.

I beg to differ. I lived there for 8 years, 4 with my husband before he died. I do speak Spanish but even back in 2000 the Brits were moving in. I moved out in 2008 to Bolnuevo on the coast in Murcia where u8 spent another 16 years. I moved back to the UK recently but have very fond memories of Aspe and keep in touch with Spanish and British friends living there
