Huh, I'm surprised Alec's old workshop is still there. Is Alec still struggling with selling off the stuff he can't keep? It's been like, 9 months since he declared Alec Steele Co. was shutting operations O.o Speaking of, the shop frontend website is still up, and his personal website is still saying he's based in Montana. He probably could do with fixing that (he doesn't need the full shop website just to continue the customer service part).

I am very close to 100% sure that a majority of people consume too much salt in their food, to the point that doctors warn for blood pressure, cardio problems and kidney problems. There may be certain trace minerals missing because people are not eating varied enough, but general salt is not the issue.

@@LittleGreyWolfForge I'm just wondering why people pay so much for knives like this? If similar quality functionality wise could be achieved for 100 euros or less? Are these blades meant to be put on shelf to show them as art pieces? I would not want to use 7000 dollar blade and risk ruining it.
@arkonwolves7192
@arkonwolves7192 6 ай бұрын
@@wekkimeif7720 well this knife is his master knife its supposed to portray his skill as a craftsman it’s as much as a work of art as it is a tool. It is still functional and likely (crosses fingers) high quality. You could of course go buy a knife from walmart for 100 dollars but its by no means the quality of a hand forged knife that has been properly heat treated or even just heat treated at all. Were you to make a knife or buy one that was hand made you would very quickly recognize the difference in quality. Most knives I’ve made you could clamp it to a table, hit it suspended with a hammer and it would bounce like a spring and you wouldn’t see a dent. Likewise a bowie made by Will here could probably rock full way through a birch tree and not roll or chip the edge. The quality of hand made knives simply can’t be replicated by a factory built 100 dollar knife from a grocery store. (Edit: he also probably accounts for the time he puts into it because time is money after all. Also the gold plating probably wasn’t cheap either.

Will, amazing work, thank you! The ad though. I know you were given the script. But that script is saying that people don't have enough salt in their system. It should say "electrolytes" (like Sodium, which the product contains), not "salt". Sodium is different from sodium chloride (table salt). I am not trying to be difficult, but western population actually has an issue with too much salt in their diet (especially from processed foods) and this ad tells them they don't have enough and need more. Hearing an ad like this might have people thinking that they need more salt and will use more in their lives. That is a big issue. Again, I know you were given the script, this is nothing against you at all but using the word salt, instead of sodium or electrolytes, in that message is wrong and dangerous to public health (especially since a quarter of million people is listening to you). Thank you for consideration and thank you for sharing with us your skills and creation of beautiful things🙂

Testing for the degree of Master; be a Master and recognise failure. A true Master does not waste his time patching up cracks in pattern welded steel with a TIG welder and then cover it up with gold plating. Especially not showing it on KZbin before handing in the piece to the judge. Both you and the judge(s) will know, that knife is made of flawed steel..... Start over. Show yourself and the world that you ARE a true Master who does the job proper, every time. Rather use a lot of time now and earn the title in the first try, than using (wasting) almost as much time doing a poor job now - and then have to do it over, if you fail. Spare yourself from failure. All the best of luck to you, you have the potential to succeed, go kick some butt!

If you want to save some cleanup time for after heat treating coat it in BBQ grill paint. the paint prevents oxygen from getting to the steel and creating scale but doesn't affect the heat treatment while being much easier to remove than scale.

speaking about LMNT, and how many people are sodium deficient - this is why I am so frustrated by so many companies going the "low sodium" route with their foods. We NEED salt. And we're supposed to be getting salt from our diet. Restricting salt should only be done if your doctor tells you to. Reminds me of the Demolition Man movie, when Sandra Bullock's character, Hershey, claimed that salt is bad for you - that line made me mad. Salt is a vital nutrient. We need it.
@jeffmcdonald101
@jeffmcdonald101 6 ай бұрын
Due to high Aldosterone levels some people need no added salt. On the other hand, those with low Aldosterone levels may need a LOT. The average person does not need supplementation via LMNT, like...the vast majority. For some it is crucial though. You do you, we're all different.

The way i do it is hand sand to 800 - 1500 grit and then buff it with carnauba wax. It gives it an amazing shine and seals it up perfectly. Highly recommend trying this method.
