i found a hungarian time machine in KECSKEMÉT (you'll see what I mean)

so this episode is really a two part. part one is from this past may when I traveled out to kecskemét in order to complete a childhood first aid class so that I could be prepared for the summer camp I ran last summer. After the course, which was filled with only pregnant women, their husbands, and me, I decided to venture out into kecskemét and shoot a little episode. Unfortunately it was simply too hot, I mean kecskemét is literally like the Hungarian desert sometimes, and I had to give up my filming midway through. I don't think I've ever done that before. although I did salvage the day with a short episode in szolnok later on.
Anyway, longstory short I was sitting on this footage the past few months not sure if I would ever publish it. But then I decided I could combine it with an old episode I made, many years ago in Kecskemét. I'm sure some of my newer subscribers haven't seen that one yet. It was also highly interesting to go back and take a look at my old work.

In many ways I feel like I've improved my presentation style (i mean really wtf was I doing with my hands!!!) but some other things I miss about those old episodes. The truly deep dive into history most of all! So it was a good reminder to dip back into my old well of youthful inspiration.

The "domb" was made because a giant water tower was planned to be built on it, but because of soil mechanic and financial problems it was never completed. The hill was made of the excavated soil of the artificial lakes, and of the fertile soil of a neighbourhood in Kecskemét called "Vacsiköz".

Really good audio on this one, has it always been this good? I could hear you swishing that booze around. I didn't mind your hands so much. Good history as always. I doubt I will ever go to any of these towns. Pecs was about as exotic as it will get for me.

Kecskemet is also super important because of the Pannonia, later Kecskemeti Filmstudio where most Hungarian cartoons were made. Even Magyar Nepmesek 😱😱😱😱!

​​@@herrock2469Én Erdélyben születtem (Kolozsvár közelében) Kecskemét egy nagyon szép és érdekes város.Amikor láttam a templomot és Wili mondta hogy 1200 körül épült azonnal átgondoltan az egész magyar történelmet és gondoltam magamban hogy amikor a magyarok városokat és templomokat építettek valami szomszéd országok nem is voltak az Európa térképén (nem léteztek)
