How did the Countess drop a Jah? According to Icy Veins, she can drop up to Vex (normal drops) and up to Ist (bonus drops)

If you look closer you’ll see that it was not the countess who dropped it but a ghost that was killed after her. You’re right that she can’t drop Jah runes

Jah rune in the dusk shroud wouldn't be the worst thing in the world... JahIthBer. That would be a scare, though. First ladder season, I ran an Assassin and she was amazing, knocked out Nihlathak almost instantly

I have had a generally good luck while running arcane sanctuary, with multiple high rune drops and a key every 3-4 runs last season, so it's a great spot... just a bit awkward since you have to get the ghosts to die above the ground to get loot

Yeah having to herd the ghosts ended up being kind of a deal breaker for me, but I found the density to be better than expected, often a boss pack of ghosts too!

The highest that the countess can drop from her special rune drop is Ist. Maybe that is what you’re thinking about because other monsters can drop much higher (even the countess can drop up to Lo but it’s super rare since it’s outside of her “rune drop slots”)

I’ve only seen it on KZbin videos. This Jah is the highest rune I’ve personally seen drop in Diablo 2/D2R ever.

Hi I'm a noob. You mentioned you play offline. I play solo online but I'm not sure if I should do online for trading but it's always p1, or do offline to get p1-8 and static maps, but then no trading. I wonder which is more rewarding for long term playing.

I find it rewarding to find my own items and don’t care for pvp or otherwise playing with others (in d2 specifically), so I chose offline. The static maps is a huge boon. The only thing that I miss about online is ladder reset since starting over fresh is a lot of fun, but nothing is stopping me from making “self found” characters to simulate. One thing that might make me start playing online again is that they have started adding new content to the game again and most of it is ladder only for the first season.

@@zarfen Yeah I think I might go with offline play too. I like the ability to trade something that is good but that I don't use, for something that I can use, but I think trading also kind of has a lot of people who can throw expensive stuff at you and it ruins the fun, also never cared for pvp either. Btw you should make a discord server, would be very cool :).

@@lodhi6666 yeah it’s sucks finding your third shako but for me it’s “worth it”. I find especially runes are so inflated online but feels awesome to find in single player. You’re the second person to say I should have a discord so I might look into setting one up! What are you looking for? General d2 discussion? Going deep on loot and farming optimization? Just chilling and showing your gg finds? I have never had a discord server before and those I’ve joined have been a bit overwhelming with 20 different channels so if I had one it would be kinda narrow to start I think.

Yes and my merc helped with the rest. I didn’t have a lightning sunder charm or infinity so the merc had to deal with all lightning immunes

Teleporting right into Nihlathak's nose is by far the best strat, he wont do this animation for corpse explosion and he will only freeze or attack you. My fav build to actually farm Nihlathak is by far javazon, map is easy to remember and you just throw 1 jav and he's dead (nature's peace is highly required tho) :D

yeesh I dont get near that key drop rate. Last season i was averaging 1 key per 40-50 countess kills. Same thing this season as well.

Nothing, it’s just a joke. In the original D2 people liked to speculate that you gained some sort of advantage if you clicked a gem in the menu so in D2R they added the text”gem activated” as an additional joke.

I don’t have any plans to do build guides or tutorials but since you called me big guy I feel obliged to help 😉 I think the easiest to start is a hammerdin - a paladin who uses the skill “blessed hammer”. Mana can be a problem early on but there is no shame in filling your inventory with mana potions. Focus on defensive stats like resists and life on gear. +skills gives more damage but you don’t need that really and if you’re new it’s nice to be a bit tanker because dying is not fun. Once you reach nightmare difficulty you can farm nightmare countess for runes to make “spirit” in a sword and a paladin shield. The bases can be farmed in early nightmare or late normal mode (cows is a good place to farm). Dual spirit runewords and as good gear as you can get on the other slots (again I would focus on survivability first for the rest of the gear) should be enough to get you through the game and it’s not very skill intensive. “Aiming” blessed hammer takes a little bit of getting used to but I kinda like it. If anything is unclear you can google/search on KZbin and you will find good guides on both hammerdin or farming early gear.
