Just so all you guys saying that the teeth in the video aren't megalodon teeth because of their size know, they are. Size has nothing to do with their ID. Morphology does. Not every single tooth in their mouths were 8 inches long. If you do some research you'll see that there is a LOT of variability within their teeth.

I’m a marine science major at University of Florida! There is one living species of dugong and they exist in the area around Australia. We lost the closest relative in the 18th century (called the stellar sea cow and the only Sirenia to exist in cold waters) from overfishing them to extinction. Dugong have fluked tails like dolphins because they were pelagic and it is better for maneuverability versus manatees that live in waterways with less of a current and have rounded tails.

I lot of people here seem to not realize that this planet has changed alot since sharks like the Megalodons were around. Florida (where they are at) used to be deep underwater, in this video they are digging to the layer of gravel that was the top layer of soil in the ocean in the past. That is how they are finding sharks teeth in a riverbed in Florida. Sidenote: I used to do these hunts with my dad all the time in SE Alabama, if you live anywhere near water (4-5 ish hours away) you should do some research into finding where to hunt for sharks teeth. They arent worth much anything but its alot of fun to go and do!

some of you on here have been watching the movie meg a bit too much i think, expecting all their teeth to be the size of a small child. 60' length max and they get this info from mostly their teeth alone as sharks leave virtually no trace after they are gone due to being made up of mostly soft tissues. The rough formula is 10' for every inch of tooth for the max length of the shark. so he is still finding a 40' shark there which is only 20' off the estimated max length and this isn't even stating which of the 3 or 4 different types of megaladon teeth that he may be holding.
