I remember getting that Wolverine #88 when it first came out in 1994. I was really into Wolverine back then & it was the first Deadpool story I read. Back then, I didn't take care of my books (mainly just read them,not to collect for monetary reasons), so I read that issue many times. I have it somewhere in one of my MANY plastic tubs of comics in my closet, raw & beaten up. If I only knew then what I know now.

Cool books and decent reasonably priced as well. I own an X-Force #4 my favorite X-Force comic cover and the best picks you have there are the Infinity Gauntlet 2, 3, 5 and 6. Last year i bought an Infinity War #2 which i'm deciding to start collecting all the Infinity War runs and the Crusades along with Gauntlet runs when and if i can for the first time. I remember back in '91-'92 in 7th to 8th grade, it was the most hottest comicbook story in Marvel history alongside of Jim Lee's X-Men runs in '91 especially the X-Men gatefold cover, which i still have. The only comicbook runs i once owned were the Frank Miller Daredevil Man Without Fear 1993 5 part series, which honestly i wasn't digging the art style of Miller's work. Nice review.

I just got X-Men 166 on Friday! Although you didn’t say how much you paid for it, given the amazing prices I was seeing in the box you were digging in I’m going to assume you paid much less than the $15 that I did. Great finds! I’ve started checking the antique malls in my area and so far everyone seems pretty aware of what they have so no big deals yet.

I think it was $7, which I think was a fair price for its condition. Antique malls are often overpriced but you can sometimes find deals, just have to keep digging!

Marvel Fanfare is such an underappreciated title Mike, the stories are all at least interesting and some rise to the level of brilliant while the art and colours on the quality glossy paper look excellent. Barry Windsor-Smith on X-Men: yes please, I buy anything by BWS, one of my absolute favourites. Nothing says 1980s like celebrities organising benefit concerts and Marvel's Heroes For Hope, although I agree that it's a must-have for the collection given all the creators who worked on it. Thanks for another fun video.

I don't know why antique shops or flea markets think because a comic is old that it needs to cost so much, many of those comics that were in the $5-$7 dollar range can easily be found in the dollar bins.

If your fan of Dave Cockrum's art from the X-Men. He was at DC first he drew Superboy & the Legion of superheroes title. Issues # 184, #188, #190, #191, #193, #195, With #197 the title dropped the Superboy logo to just the Legion of Superheroes. #197-#202. Storm & Nightcrawler was originally going to be members of the Legion of Superheroes. But after drawing issue #200. The wedding issue, DC refused to give him his original art back. He decided to leave DC for Marvel. Where GS X-Men/the New X-Men were born!

Any chance you could do a video on the following titles. The Man called Nova, Rom Spaceknight, Godzilla, Shogun Warriors, the Champions 1975-77, the Human Fly, and the Micronauts.
@lunchmoneycomics Жыл бұрын
I’m only really familiar with a few of those titles, and have mentioned them on my channel before (like Godzilla and Nova) but yeah I’ll keep those titles in mind during my collecting excursions.
@micpar2 Жыл бұрын
@@lunchmoneycomics Ya these were pretty much short lived series sadly. Besides Rom ran for 75 issues and four annuals. And four actual guest appearances in four other Marvel superhero titles. Godzilla ran for only 24 issues. Nova ran for 25, two short stories in two different issues of What IF Vol #1 1977 & 78. Shogun Warriors I think only ran like 19 or 24 issues? Champions had 17 issues and a few other cross overs one was in Godzilla #3. Basically Hercules vs Godzilla briefly. The Human Fly ran for only 19 issues. The Micronauts ran like 65 issues. But the first 12 issues by Michael Golden were the best. Same with the NAM, first 12 issues were excellent very well written and very close to actual military duty. I was a US Marine when the NAM came out and just went through bootcamp in spring of 82.Marvel's Skull the Slayer was a fun read too. Sadly it only had eight issues and a finale in Marvel Two in One. DC's 1978 Firestorm five issues were cool too. George Perez also drew the Justice League for like ten or twelve issues like from JL #184-#186, #192-#197 and issue #200. Which had Firestorm on the team too. DC's Plastic man which ran from 1966-77. For twenty issues. It ran for ten then got cancelled. But was brought back in 76? for another ten issues continuing the numbering. and Metal Men DC Showcases #37-40, Metal Men #1 (1963) #2- #56 (1978) The Metal Men also got cancelled early 70's. Then were brought back again with the same numbering, also were fun reads.

Other great series but many are no longer cheap. Mainly Marvel try out short lived series. Amazing Adventures, Marvel Feature #1-#11, Marvel Premiere, and Marvel Spotlight. Creatures on the Loose #1-#37. (1971-75) Issues #30-#37 featured the Spidey foe Man-Wolf in his own solo series. He first appeared in ASM #124 & #125. Also was the Spider-Man Power Records. Marvel's Power Records issues are all up on KZbin too. The monster ones are great too. I believe their was four superhero ones and four monster ones. Including the Man-Thing. But sadly they never made one of the Ghost Rider or the New X-Men!!
