Hi Ethan! That alarm on the door is actually that. It is to let someone know that the door has been opened. Must be a very elderly person lived there. I have these same alarms because of my autistic daughter. Have a great evening!🧡🏘🏡

I think you're right. I'm guessing the person was living with family or a caretaker. I like seeing older people be able to stay at home as long as they can.

Yes love those 60’s houses especially the split level houses. Such peaceful space I hate to see replaced by industrial blight. I love to imagine what is was like in its day. I’m sure when it was built those owners could never have imagined it being torn down for ugly warehouses. I bet the basement was cool. Love those chandeliers. Cool orange carpets. As always I would love to restore this keeping with its original aesthetic. It’s a shame to lose another of this period’s homes. Thanks for sharing this one Ethan!! Take care be well and stay safe!

Hi Ethan This a cool house. I have to tell you I never seen the water level in any abandoned house that high in a flooded basement. Man that was high. I think these people were religious. There were a lot of rosary beads around and that last supper plaque was real neat. These people who lived here liked the house as is was. They never changed anything. All those televisions you found sure were old. $19,000.000 is a lot of money to pay for that land. They must want to put up lots of warehouses on that huge property. At least after the house is gone you will have the proof that a nice house proudly stood there and can live on in your archives. Thank you Ethan for showing us around this lovely home with all its charm. Keep well and stay safe.👍🆒 5 star content⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. There were some creepy chairs in this house.🪑

A wonderful large, well built retro! The brick and stone and materials are great! Nothing screams retro like orange carpet and purple tile, totally love it!! A beautiful home and the land itself as well! Total shame it will be wiped away and covered up 😐 It is an important and meaningful thing that you do, documenting these fantastic properties, and it is so awesome to know that the former owners do see and share their appreciation and sentiments with you! 😎🤟✌️

Hey Ethan, that was fun. I didn’t care for their choices of colors throughout, but it was decorated in the 60’s😁. Loved the light fixtures. That hanging light in that first bedroom you went in can be pulled down/pushed up. The first house we bought was built in 56 & it had the exact same light in our dinette. We actually liked that you could pull it down-like for doing a puzzle etc. But it definitely wasn’t something we kept. That orange carpet was so ugly. Oh the cross was a rosary. It is used for praying the Our Father /Hail Mary’s. The statue is The Last Supper(Jesus & the Disciples before Jesus was crucified) Too bad the basement was flooded. I bet it was another wow! Take care Ethan

This is like the unofficial 'hockey house'! 🙂 When you stepped inside i noticed the red lamp right away, and you went everywhere but over to it (i kept willing you to walk to it because i wanted a better view! 😄). I thought the 'marble' on the kitchen counter and that dinette set were cool. Also, wanted to point out that i'm a fan of the different ceiling patterns they make with/into the plaster so i'm grateful that you always show them! One more thing--I've never seen an intercom on the outside of a house, and not even in a sheltered area. I wonder how well that thing worked? 🤔

My house was built in 1910 (it was an old farmhouse) and eventually my Great Grandma bought the house and I assume she had renovated it because I remember having 60's and 70's carpeting (and yes in the bathroom too) with the old GE Textolite starburst counter tops and yellow metal cabinets in the kitchen. Lots of wood paneling....and I mean lots. (We have done a lot of work to this house since the year 2000) I am 4th Generation to live in this house which is cool. Anyway, I love seeing the 60's 70's houses because it reminds me of my grandparents, and they had some of the same features in this house back in the day.

Good morning Ethan 🤗. I believe this house was well lived in and 10 to 1 chances this individual, the last person that was living here had probably died and intern the children sold the house and everything that was in it. They dispersed out amongst themselves in my opinion. I know one thing back in the day elegance was a priority to show prosperity so it’s just something to think about when you do go into these homes like this. To help us to have appreciation for the time that it was built anyways, thank you for sharing you take care and be safe🫶🏻❤️🤠

I got a kick out of the NuTone intercom and music system. In 1990 I bought an early 70s house, International style architecture, that had that same system 😂 The hanging plaque on the kitchen wall, Ioannes XXIII, is Pope John the twenty-third. Ioannes is the Latin form of John. There were at least a couple rosaries and crucifixes. The owners were Catholic.

I mean like they weren’t forced to sell technically. They were given the option. If I was offered over 10 times what my property is worth I’d probably sell it, and I think anybody with a little bit of common sense would too. Just sad to see why they’re buying them.
