Lore Master here! Or at least, I try to be because I love this game lol. I've been using my retirement case in my current longest play through to pin all the lore information and consolidate it. There's essentially two primary organizations/movements you'll run into in Shaodws of Doubt: The Red Gums are the one you'll probably find the most when working on murder cases. The Red Gums are a hyper-pro-capitalist organization. They're massive Starch supporters, and their advertisements can often be found in people's apartments, somewhat mirroring modern fascist talking points, and requesting that the reader send a certain amount of crows to "Luca Siempre." Sometimes on bank statements, you'll find that people have sent money to Luca, meaning they might somehow be involved with the red gums. Most radical Red Gums may have the Red Gum flag on display in their apartment (the red and black crossed one), or have multiple red gum advertisements. The opposite of this movement is called L.E.M. I've yet to find anyone who's actually somehow associated with it - the only way I've seen L.E.M in the lore is through the emails people get that say "Eden is dead." L.E.M is essentially the opposite of the red gums - they are anti-starch, but generally thought to be a "dead" movement. The public isn't particularly worried about them. Unlike the red gums, I don't think there is a way to tell if someone is a part of L.E.M. through evidence in their apartment, unless I just haven't come across it yet :)

45:00 I also had murderers 'disappearing' from the map. Once I couldn't find a person anywhere and was casually asking every other person in the city if they had seen the murderer. Finally, I have found the person who saw them in the basement of the hotel. All the people there were saying they saw them around 5 minutes ago. I was searching for them all around the basement and couldn't find them. I found them hours later in the basement -1 or -2 standing in the water, stuck in front of the bathtub in the toilet. All the people who saw them were 'seeing' the murderer through the floor. It was a very tough case, but the murderer didn't commit any more crimes because they were stuck

From memory, it's in the same menu as your inventory when standing in an apartment you own. Sort of in the middle?

When you access your inventory while in your apartment there's an 'Edit Decor' option. Remember to click on store otherwise it attempts to show you things you own in that room lol

I think the reason the illicit businesses are in the directory like the other ones is because they're posing as legit businesses. They're always named oddly, but within the realms of standard. Like Hardware Supply Depot (a weapons dealer), Porcupine Post Trader (black market dealer), Greg's Butcher Shop (black market sync clinic), ect.

I had a good laugh when I looked up a murder suspect in the government database and his occupation was listed as 'hired killer'. Nothing like the government knowing you're a hitman and just...filing that tidbit away. Don't, you know, arrest them or anything. Sometimes I think those businesses are putting in more effort than necessary to hide their true nature.

Pro Tip: if you are being pursued, you can enter the elevator. You are the only person who can enter an elevator and you become completely invisible to everyone while inside. Your pursuers will act like they lost you. It feels like a cheap exploit so I can understand not wanting to use it but it can be very useful when escaping someone shooting at you. I left this in the last video but since I watched it a few days late I'm not sure if my comment got seen. Will post here in case you would like to use it!

Callie was one of the first people that died and the heart and “Callie & H Forever” just stays there like the drawings on the floor outside… just so happens that someone got killed in the same room as Callie 🤣 it surprises me that people will comment about where they saw Haruto but no one mentions that Haruto was arrested… would be amazing to have that added into the game and make it even more immersive!! ☺️

I just want to say thank you for introducing this game to us, Insym. It's absolutely incredible and I got it for myself after a few episodes of the Twitch series. I watched the rest of your SoD playthroughs and when I heard there's an update (thanks to you), I got back to playing right away! It's been one of my favorite games/series to watch and no one is playing it like you, giving it the proper respect it deserves. It truly is criminally underrated and I can't thank you enough. Also, framing another person for a murder would be a crazy fun addition! Or the wearing of gloves? Mad. Also 2.0, you can click the little "Aa" button in the lower right corner when opening notes/journals to be able to read it clearly. It switches the font to the game's default type font, not an assigned handwriting sample. It's been super helpful for me personally 😊

Yay!! I’ve been checking every day for this!! Also the murderer will only ever involve the victim, hopefully they will change that in the future because it would make it more interesting and more difficult. So the writing on the wall will only ever reference the victim and cases with a sniper murder weapon, will only ever come from across the street, so there wont be any evidence from the murderer. Having no one see the murderer since Wednesday should be a sign they have been either murdered or arrested previously! Everyone keep that in mind!

I had totally forgot about Suzuki too 😂😂. Also, I had a shotgun murder. A cop standing 1 floor below the scene said they seen a sketchy person at the floor of the scene a few mins prior. When the metal security doors opened before cops set up the crime scene, the murderer was standing there in the hall beside the cop. He was trapped there by the security door. And he was covered in blood. 😂😂

Man... with the ingame music that started playing right before your realization, that moment was pure art. The words "I've seen this face before. I've heard this name before" with that background music sounded like straight out of a movie. Cannot believe this happened and that you'd completely forgotten that case 😁 I hadn't watched the Valentine episode and I'm glad I hadn't because I was completely unsuspecting throughout the whole thing, and the revelation was unreal.

I feel like it would be annoying but also pretty cool if you could become a target of the murderers, it would give you something to watch out for as the game is extremely easy and you don’t need to worry about dying unless you do something stupid, obviously they should make it so you could stop the killer

For the sniper cases, you can actually find a bullet and bullet hole in the area the person died and use that to find the bullet trajectory a lot easier and more accurately. Love this game so much and love watching you play it! Hopefully you play more soon even though you're so busy.

Also we learned two things: - Fingerprints in crime scenes STAY even if it was from the second episode! - The partners CAN actually continue living in the house of their murdered significant other. They just become outlawed for a while when the police are in their homes

I never understood the "higher you are in a building the richer". Who wants to spend 10 mins trying to get out of your apartment? The richer you get the less you want convenience?

Back in the days before elevators, this was frequently true. Higher meant more time and effort to get in and out of your home, so being higher was cheaper and being lower was more expensive. We still see this echoed in the way some home layouts hype having the master bedroom on the first floor while the others are relegated to the second. However, the advent of elevators made the time and effort cost of living higher much lower, enough that the benefits of higher floors (longer sightlines out the windows, greater privacy, reduced noise, godlike feelings of lording over people, etc.) began to make them the preferred choice of those with money. In _Shadows of Doubt,_ height also gets you further away from the polluted water and cockroaches.

So glad it rained so that we could enjoy new shadow of doubt content haha This is from a tip more for last time - in my own playthroughs when both couples have the same handwriting, I realized that you could go into the house of someone from the address book and look at theirs to see which of the couple they knew. Then you know the order of the address bookand can either start from the front or back

My first murdercase in this new update i got a sniper case. There was no clue in the appartment from where they shot from. After checking gun dealer finally found him and went to arrest him. I was already been in his appartment when checking the trajectory. I arrested him while he was aiming to kill his 3 person.

Any hand written notes (minus password note) has a button with a capital A and a lower A, it will change the font back to standard for easy reading

I made a max size city and started with no money. I beat the first murder case by sneaking into the workplace through a vent and picking up paperclips. I was never seen trespassing in the entire case, even though I didn't have enough lockpicks to shut down the office security system. It did help that the security went off when the murder happened, so the enforcers couldn't get to the crime scene. Would highly recommend playing on a large city with no money.

Soooo I'm absolutely addicted to this game, and it was because I enjoyed watching you playing it so much, and that the way this game is made is super smart! And I love the art style! I had to get it, my first couple of runs were a little sloppy, and I had to throw some cases away because I couldn't get anywhere with them...but now I'm more organised and have more ways to try figuring cases out, and the game simply has me hooked aha 🤘 🔥

just finished rererewatching all your shadows of doubt videos, i suggest looking at some of the larger cities, for example im currently playing on a 9x8 city with 2066 citizens, just search up larger shadows of doubt cities and u can find them, there are a few of them with different sizes, once u put the city in ur files u can generate a city with a premade city using the one u picked out and it builds it like new with the city schematics. tons of fun, also recommend the mod that gives citizens more and better dialogue. i love watching you play this and would love to see more.

Imagine a sniper case where the only plausible place they could shoot from is your apartment in game when you are at peak social standing but when you go into the apartment there is no evidence that anyone was there besides a bullet hole.

You mentioned needing to sell at the Pawn Shop, but you can also sell from your home in the home furnishing menu. Just drop objects on floor and sell them from the objects panel.

@@Insym The cities should all have at least one pawn shop, I've not seen one without one. But anyway, there is one more place where you can sell stuff and that is the black market trader

@@TheZauer Pawn shop can spawn with a book case blocking the back room, screwing up the NPCs. Black market can refuse to ever be open. Sometimes the exploit is required.

I enjoy this series being an offline one much more that if it was with the chatters. If there was a live chat someone would've pointed out that those were separate crimes way before Insym got to that conclusion himself, so we would've never gotten that mindblowing revelation and reaction :D I have a suggestion for the next time we play Shadows - what if we tried solving cases without using fingerprints? No government database to look up people because that reveals prints, no employees directory usage for the same reason, and we can only use the fingerprint scanner after the criminal was put in handcuffs. So there will be always an element of uncertainty right until it's time to submit the case.

It sounded like you didn't notice in the previous episodes, but with the Sugar disk, it does state that the uninstall cost goes down by *5* when you buy colas. And since colas only cost 1-2, that means you can take the 5000cr, spend 1250cr on cola, and then uninstall for free, making a net profit of 3750 front-loaded, at the cost of having to carry around colas to sip on until you get through those thousand+ cans. The main downside is that you'll probably be dedicating an inventory slot to a cola can to sip on while you work.

I have a terrible memory for names so what I started doing when I play this game is have a "case" that I use for notes - as well as locations of weapon dealers etc, I also keep a list of every killer I've arrested, and every victim (and their addresses). I've had times where I've looked for someone who wasn't in the game anymore for one of those two reasons, so it's helpful to have a list.

That was the most gripping murder I've seen in this game. I realised something had borked so I was on tenterhooks waiting for the big reveal. Amazing stuff. I had wondered about serial killing when it was a love motive. I can understand how a killer motivated through work or gang activity can go on to kill more coworkers etc, but in a murder as personal as love, where does the second kill come in? Did wonder if Kill 2 (neighbour) was "getting rid of a witness" type scenario but I guess I'm still left wondering!
