My husband really, really, really wants you to put a curing and sealing agent on that concrete before you start leaking oil and other fluids on it. It makes clean up and sweeping a 1,000,000 times easier. It is the best $250.00 you will ever spend.

You echo my thoughts exactly! He drove that truck in there and I thought in order: 1- The first vehicle in the new shed.. (smile) 2- All the trusses aren't even up yet! 3- He is soo going to enjoy having this shed. 4- Oh No, Open Hydrolics leaking on the new concrete! ### disaster!! 5- I would seal, dry then White/off white 2 pack epoxy the entire floor. Good for a lifetime and wipe off any droppings.

I was so excited to see another Red Poppy Ranch video. As I browsed the comments, I was surprised. Cedar wants a Jeep, Heath bought a truck for himself, but gives to his wife. In this day and age of, how much debt can I afford. I commend Heath of thinking of other alternatives. As nice as a new Jeep, truck, or any other forum of self indulgent could be, in this time of uncertainty, it's a realistic option. The truck will be reliable; efficient, parts are vastly available, and easy to maintain. I like Red Poppy Ranch, for how they distance themselves, from debt, grocery stores, and all other forms of means that are nessasery, but choses to be self reliant, efficient, and puts that responsibility on themselves. Red Poppy Ranch's morals, values, determination, willingness, and motivation. Not as individuals, but as a family, husband, father, son, daughter, wife, mother, and all other forms of family. It is a rare sight, and I for one support them.

He had already budgeted what he could sell the dump bed for 3 seconds after seeing the truck lowering his total purchase price. Like you, I would definitely made a wood run or two and delayed my decision to sell or not sell. Same with running boards. They were easily removed in 30 min. I would have delayed their removal as well. If his concern was deep snow buildup on running boards he still could have delayed their removal another month. But I am 58 and would appreciate the help when entering the vehicle height

I have a 1989 GMC V35 same as this K30. Original red paint and only 4,257 miles on it. Just a bit up from the 1,760 when I bought it some years back. The dually works better in snow and mud though from my experience. The county's snow plows around me are all duallies with chains front and back. I am getting this ready for my move to ID. I'm keeping the 454 big block with twice the factory HP. Anyway when I find you stuck or broken down again I'll be able to tow you home :)

I guess it must just be me but I can't in a million years imagine cutting a long bed down into a short bed. I drove exclusively short beds for years after highschool until I got my first long bed and I'll never go back for any reason, any reason that I can think of right now anyway. The utilitarian advantage of a long bed far outweighs any disadvantage to me. Plus the look of a long bed is far more appealing to me nowadays. Of course this is only my opinion and as I've always stated, do with your iron as you see fit.

Absolutely agree. He plans to ruin a perfectly good truck. If he got it for a good deal then he should just sell it for a profit and get something that Cedar to drive that is more applicable to her without all the chopping. I really hate to buy something that the previous owner went through and changed everything. It makes future repairs and parts shopping a pain in the a_ _

As a female who has had quite a few pick up trucks, I give points to both sizes of beds. For transporting large items a long bed is definitely needed, however - parking it at ANY store is a bitch. We had one that also had our boat hitch sticking way out (a real shin catcher) but in parking lots, the back end stuck out close to 2 feet longer than all the other vehicles!!! Granted, this made it easy to locate in the parking lot! But if it were MY daily driver I would prefer a short bed - no contest! A short bed - ESPECIALLY a covered short bed - would be VERY convenient for picking up bulk shopping items, and carrying various kid's gear all over creation. Altho... That comfy couch still won't fit in a short bed... ...sigh... O! Unless it's a sectional and it could come home one piece at a time!!! No worries Cedar, there's ALWAYS a way!!! ♡♡♡

TRUE STORY. I'm a woman who gets precognition from time to time. I had a vision decades ago about being in a car accident. I think it was 1984. I could see bits and pieces of what was going to happen. From the impact, their was blackness, and it jumped time and distance. I saw people I knew standing around a hospital bed. I was peering out from that body lying in the hospital bed. I interpreted it, as it had to be me. At the time I was driving a clunker.. But due to the fact, I didn't think I was going to make it out alive, and he wanted a truck for towing. But didn't want to spend any money. He changed his mind quickly. As I have had precognition before, and they ALL came true. He went to a dealership and purchased a brand new Ram Charger truck right from the lot. Three weeks later, the vision I had, materialized. I saw the vehicle getting off the highway like in the vision and about to hit me as I had just opened my parked car door to get out. I quickly let go of the door and grabbed the steering wheel with all my might. The woman driving had lost control of her vehicle, and totalled her car UNDER my spanking new truck. I was safe. They had to lift my truck up, to get her vehicle out from under. That same exact day, a friend of mine was hit and run down crossing a street 60 miles away. It was her eyes I was piercing out of. Sadly she died that night. Bless your soul, I've never forgotten you. So, fix that truck up so she can be safe this winter. Were in for some mighty wild winter weather this year.

Can you get a lifetime guarantee for Linex. Think bout it, no rusting issues - no dents - no washing - your giving the metal many layers of protection. Linex is way better then that crap rhino liner. It’s WAY less expensive then any paint job and will last like forever. Think of it as wife and kid proofing your trucks. Congratulations & Enjoy your truck. That's a heck of a couch! Question: Cedar gave the go ahead, Cedar said you fix it up I'll drive it. But then when you start talking you say you're trying to talk Cedar into it. Sounds to me like you wanted the truck and Cedar is dealing with it. Get her a couch, my man... then you'll impress me!

I just have to ask ... is there anything you cannot do?! Your family is so fortunate in having a husband/dad who not only ‘can do’ but who also can share his knowledge/skills with the next generation. You are fortunate that you have such a loving and supportive family and that Cedar (btw - love that name) does not step on your dreams. Your ‘journey’ is a delight to watch.

The dual wheels also allow a significant additional load to be carried. I have them on my 4 x 4 sprinter motorhome van conversion and they are a pain in the butt, but there was no way that the single wheels could legally cope with the conversion load. Having said that a large amount of the conversion weight is in the 4 x 4 component.

Like the single rear wheel idea but I'd definitely keep the long bed. Way more functional. Hauling loads way easy in long bed and towing trailers.

dualies do fine if they have chains - it looks like a nice rig - you have tow options now if she will let you borrow it once in a while - you need to finish the trusses and get that part of the job done - then you have the gravy work of getting it really ready for winter which comes early for you - basically you are on track - now you have more vehicles to maintain

that truck need reg pm is all - don't do anything to it just drive it - you don't want a diesel - unneeded, dirtier, heavier, more expensive, worse in the winter - enough is going to break on it anyways without having to go the extra mile - cheap junkyard parts to the rescue

If RPR roads are as nasty as they say, then a truck with tracks on it should be in order. Imagine riding into town through mud - snow an automobile with tracks. We did it in Williston, North Dakota on the oilfield. That sure was some nasty roads up there. But we NEVER got stuck.

Don't see the logic in wasting a good dump truck that would save a ranch or farm by having the options of a heavy duty truck, with dual wheels and a great dump bed to whittle down to a short bed with limited use.

They live an area that commonly gets 4-8 foot of snow during winter every year. He went over that in the video. Dual-Wheel trucks are poor at snow driving. Needs single wheel with a lift kit and offroad tires.

I have a 1991 K5 that needs quite a bit of body work (I have all of the necessary parts), but I'd definitely sell it for a crew cab k30 even though I live in an urban area with nowhere to park it. I've got a 2000 K3500 regular cab GMC that fits on the street quite nicely.
