I related so much to the bit about the dead persons eyes 👀. When I first started out in life I had a job that was “caring for the recently departed”. On the first day I realised that “the dead didn’t care”, then as time went on I realised something else. Being around Dead people didn’t bother me, they could be young, old, horrifically deformed by accidents etc , I was ok with the fact that these were no longer suffering or in any pain . However I was always bothered by the eyes, a (recently) deceased person would have a glazed dead stare that really seemed to penetrate my very being and unnerve me. When I was alone with such a body (which was most of the time, I’m sure things are done differently these days though), I would put a handkerchief across thier eyes so they wouldn’t stare at me . I wouldn’t cover thier whole face cos I felt that was disrespectful, i would cover just the eyes so they couldn’t “dead stare” me, once I had done that I would quite happily chat with them (a one sided chat obviously cos I wasn’t bonkers), and now that I’m recalling things from such a long time ago I also remember that I gave each deceased person thier own unique prayer - wow I really have only just remembered that and it’s just given me a chill run down my spine - Anyway I’m going slightly off topic, my main point is that a persons eyes use to scare me , nothing else did . The strange thing is that to this day if I have a nightmare I can guarantee that it includes eyes 👀, hundreds of pairs of bright eyes staring at me through the Darkness - just eyes, no people or bodies just Eyes 👀. Yep you can bet your life that I’m gonna have a nightmare now tonight - oh Crap ☹️☹️☹️
