Your videos are very professional and as such informative. For me, the value in Japan is not the investment but the people and culture quality and I think you convey that thought very well though with the odd exception such as this video where you suggest growth potential. It will be interesting to see Japan's future. I wish the country and people the best.

It's incredible watching these videos, seeing how you can buy entire homes in Japan for less money than a house deposit in Australia. Really puts things into perspective. Love visiting Japan, I've been 3 times. Very fond of the Nagano and Hokkaido regions too. I might have to move over one day.

If plans hold (and they're pretty firm at this point), I'll be moving to Sapporo in Autumn to start Japanese language school. This video was definitely helpful, as I'm thinking that Sapporo might well end up being my permanent Japan location . I love Tokyo, etc., but Hokkaido has the kind of climate I prefer, as I'm from the Pacific Northwest in the US. I have some music scene friends there (I'm a pro guitarist...), and Sapporo's scene is small but lively. It would be awesome to be able to buy a house there. I don't care about income potential, as I'd be planning on living in it, although rentability should I decide to migrate south would be a big plus.

If that's the case, Sapporo might work out great for you. Tokyo is overrated. Good luck with your Japanese language school!

I'd live outside the city probably better deals. I'm sure you could find better deals in very small rural towns outside sapporo.

I agree. Suburbs of big cities usually have the best deals. Do you also invest in Japan? If so, where?

It really depends on the location. I suggest you to check out websites like athome and suumo to compare rental prices in the area for similar homes

Thank you for covering this topic. Can you help explain Japanese addresses? Finding the home online is one thing, but trying to find the physical location is so confusing.
@shumatsuopost
@shumatsuopost Жыл бұрын
Thanks! These websites don't share the exact addresses so you literally need to go there and look for the specific house on your own unless the agent gives it to you.

92k is expensive, Add closing cost, taxes and agent fees it is more than 105K US, to get a mortgage you must earn more than 3500 US gross per month for a single house hold, did you know the average 1 % on the planet earns less than 33000 US gross per year? it is the inflation that is causing trouble to get a good mortgage in the west for buying property in a foreign country

Most homes in Hokkaido and Tohoku are built differently - they usually have insulation due to the cold climate.

Your advice is far from the mark. Come back to those same properties in the winter and tell me it’s a good investment or not. Look at the property values around a station and see how quickly the value drops one kilometer from the station.
