I don't think this is really that important, but I think episode 11 at least would be improved by reading the title before hand

Yeah I agree. We don’t need to say anything about this show. He is going back through episodes to look for clues and details so he will find most of them. Leave the explaining to what he missed for the very end when he has gone through every single thing even the books. He will probably find everything by then anyway. It’s more fun to see him search and piece it all together. If he wants help he will say so.

Ahahah I really admire your dedication to understand the Schrödinger equation!! I'm a physics grad student, and honestly you got the purpose of it more-or-less right which I'd say is pretty impressive!! Not sure if it's anything useful to your theorizing, but fwiw the one on the board is the time-independent form of it, and also the wave function (aka the Psi, the thing that the Schrödinger equation operates on) is Schrödinger's cat, essentially lol, in that it includes all the possible states a particle can be in (those being the eigenstates of the wave function), and the particle will take on one of those states (with a given probability for each) when measured, and the wave function collapses. As far as the equation itself goes, H is the Hamilton-operator which in layman's terms is a representation of the energy of the particle, the p with the hat is the momentum, and V is the potential the particle is in, which can be something like an electric or magnetic field for example. Again, don't know if this is useful, but I'm just very enthusiastic when my incredibly specific area of expertise is even a little bit relevant lol

I had never heard of the Shepard Tone before. That was an interesting segment. Also yes, there is clearly another deep tone starting in the backround of the higher pitched tone until it eventually overtakes the higher one. If you focus on the deeper note, you should be able to hear when it starts. I think the focussing on the higher not makes the illusion work.

About the 618 thing, that’s the sort of thing that you’re *never* going to react to finding the answer to because it’s not actually part of the gravity falls in-universe lore. There is no episode explaining it. It doesn’t come up in the show or any other media except when the creators need to pull an arbitrary number out of a hat. It’s exactly like the boyz crazy code mentioning Ariel, there is no way for you to figure that out in the show (or spinoff media). “Spoilers” are the only way you’ll ever learn that info, and so there is no satisfying reveal or discovery to be made in your future about it. Those commenters were saving you from wasting your time thinking about something that isn’t as fun as the show’s actual mysteries. Thinking about it more, the question of “what does 618 mean” it probably even on the same level as the “mystery” of “Who voiced Waddles?”. It’s an entirely real life thing relating to the production of the show, irrelevant to the content of the show, that the show doesn’t explain. The only difference is that you were already invested in discovering it yourself. You would have been disappointed even more in the end if no one told you.

Those aren’t “spoilers”, they’re just real life junk sprinkled in. Just like this 618 thing. If someone very explicitly says "I'm going to make a video learning about x, so please don't tell me about it" is not really unreasonable to frame stuff about x as spoilers. 618, Alex's sister, and the Schrodinger equation are a bunch of non-diegetic references and it is very arbitrary to ask for zero info for one and just straight google another, but it comes with the territory of going blind into something while doing a bunch of theory-crafting; going in a wild goose chase for a silly reference and overthink a bunch of stuff that doesn't matter is all part of the process. That being said is really wild how he worded it: "Think about it: Would you rather me come across it in an episode and react to it there or would you rather me sit in my bedroom having a look at KZbin and getting a notification pops up saying Alex's birthday is 618" No Ozone, Alex did not make an entire episode of Gravity Falls about his own birthday, why the hell are you expecting that to be something you will come across in an episode?

Ok, so, I’m only partially through the section of you dissecting the Schrödinger equation, but to simplify: it’s just a way of describing where a particle *can* be and the likelihoods of it being in that place. Most particles have a Schrödinger equation which gives them a nearly 100% chance of being in a specific spot, but small things like electrons and atoms actually only have probabilities of being in specific places. The Schrödinger equation is what gives those probabilities

1:10 I'd probably recommend doing 9&10, then do a break where you polish your theories, then watch 11 and then do another break before 12. Probably. Or just do a theory inside the video where you're watching 9&10&11. 11 is a grand reveal and I think it makes sense to make a break BEFORE it and not push it to do a break after.

One way I could think of to avoid the spoiler issue is you could have some mods filtering out your comments for spoilers. Another is to have a pinned comment reminding people not to spoil stuff and indicate what are the things you consider spoilers so that it's clear to everyone. I get why some people would try to share some "fun facts", especially if it has nothing to do with the plot or something that happened outside the show but I do see how that could be frustrating as it takes out the fun of some things-- especially since you had some future plans for it.

Sure, it's helpful, but I have a feeling he enjoys speculating--even if it's wrong. He'll find out when he gets to the end anyway. This is why he should specify what he considers spoilers because people have different parameters of what is considered a spoiler.

Fyi, there are 21 episodes total in season 2, not 20! the final episode was double length but was cut into 2 after the initial premiere to fit into tv time blocks just letting u know since 20 and 21 both have codes at the end, so u might wanna take that into account for scheduling reasons😊

About the things that were "spoiled" you mentioned, they're a bit different because at no point in the show will you ever learn it, and i don't think you'd learn it through any other material like books either. Ariel, 618, and the mcgucket troll leak are all just things you'll just know from hearing about it or you'll never know it at all. There's no logical way to get your reaction for these things on camera unless you did a video/stream just browsing the internet. More than anything, i think people just don't want you to be stuck on a wild goose chase that leads nowhere, whether thats because they think it wastes space in the video or because they don't want you to go completely insane is down to the individual.

Few things real quick: First off, I want to apologize for spoiling the Alex Hirsch’s birthday thing. I thought it would be like the Ariel code, where you have no real way of knowing unless someone tells you as it has no lore significance. That makes sense that you would want to find out yourself or have someone reveal it at the end of the series. Also, I never noticed the Schrödinger equation and I’m not really sure what it could mean. I think your analysis is great but my first impression is either discussing superpositions (about how Giffany is in several places at once, similar to molecules) Or how the cat is unpredictable. You don’t know if the cat is dead or alive or not. And later in the episode, Giffany says “Other girls are unpredictable”. Finally, this might just be a coincidence, but I’m just now realizing that Dipper’s name is a constellation/star thing and Bill’s nickname for him is “Pine Tree”. Mabel is the exact opposite. As Soos points out, Mabel is very similar to Maple, like the tree, and her nickname from Bill is Shooting Star. Dipper has a star name and tree nickname. Mabel has a tree name and star nickname. (Okay, I guess Dipper is ALSO a nickname but shush, let me have this one)

Man, the Giffany episode is just so great to me as an anime fan because of the different tropes and parts of the culture it plays with. There are poorly translated pieces of text, a sweaty overweight dude advertising the game, a cutesy dating sim in general with sakura in the background, Giffany being a yandere school girl, and of course the Sailor Moon reference at the end. Also I'm NOT explaining Option 3 at 24:52. If you know, you know. Also a cool note about Giffany's design, at 24:37 you can see it pretty clearly, but her hair ribbon is actually a ribbon cable, an electronics part, which is really cool and sort of hints at her true nature.

Hot take but the laws of physics just HAVE to be wrong,right? Like,how can matter or energy exist if they can't be created? There has to be a starting point. I know there's a theory that energy could have become matter but that would still mean that there must be some way to create energy. The other option is that there's an infinite amount of energy somewhere that's always existed (so it would have to be outside of time) and our universe has a finite amount of that energy in it
