The tabletop and some other parts of the legs had that heat-sensitive finish that crackled when cool. Have never seen the like before. Restoration is a lovely compliment to the table. Those legs are real knee busters!😊🎉

Going to go against the grain here and say the signatures were not a good idea. They don't bring it into the modern age, they don't add uniqueness, they're chicken scratch on an already beautiful table. Some pieces just need a bit of TLC; new stain, new lacquer. It's a wonderful table that needed some love to make it shine again. Not random etchings of copied signatures.

Constructive criticism is important to me. Unfortunately in this video the most time was paint stripping. It took 3/4 days just to remove the paint. No repairs or anything needed. I hope you like the next video, it will be a restoration of an ancient military chest.

Hi Robert. Also in my opinion, using natural wood gave a different tone to the table. Unfortunately the finish was not shellac. Imagine that I had to use 4kg of paint stripper just for some parts of the table legs. That paint didn't come off with anything. My grandfather didn't make the table, he bought it.
