I found out our Cat Gary couldn’t see Well - He was spooked by something and He Falls into Water

I had only adopted Gary for a short time when this video was made almost 4 years ago. He had been Abused and I could tell he was scared of everything. After spending a lot of time under my bed...I started taking him outside. He Hates to be picked up but I did it and he was in love with the outdoors and later I found out he is 95% vision impaired with indoor light. Outside he could chase butterfly’s and run around...he healed from nature in a short time.
He followed me everywhere, so when I went to take pictures on the dock he would howl at the end of the dock for me so I would slowly let him follow me and he would lay down under the bench while I took pictures and videos of crystals for my website.
That day he followed me for the 3rd or 4th time and my friend Anthony walked on the Dock and he started making weird sounds at Anthony and started running.
I did think he would make it and I was sadly wrong. The water was only about a foot deep with sand at the bottom and turns out Gary is very buoyant. I could hear him underneath me get out of the water. I did feel calm about him being fine.
That night I started waving things by his eyes and he could not see it. Outside he does have better eyesight. He does not see a red laser but does see a purple one. He has been to two different Vets the last one said, he is not diabetic, he does not have high blood pressure and he does not have glaucoma. So I have a card for a Vet Eye Specialist in Orlando to find out why Gary does not see well. I am waiting a bit not to traumatize him too much.

Inside he had huge eyes so I thought his sight was not at good inside. He came alive outside and I let him be a cat and play with lizards and butterfly’s. That day he ran because he didn’t like men and my friend Anthony walked on the dock. He made some weird noises is why I turned on snap chat, then you see the rest. He is great he went to the vet, we learned more about him and moved him to my Crystal Shop where I spend more time so I see him more. He is so different almost 2 years later. I know this is an older vid & folks either love it or hate it. But having been the owner of blind cats, this shit happens. They learn (usually the first time) and in my experience they are vocal af and LOUD. Your heart says protect them at all costs! But they’re animals with instincts and senses we don’t have. This poor lil dude was Pissed but I’m sure he never fell off that dock again 😂 Oh fun fact, cats are actually excellent swimmers. They may not all love water but they can swim just fine. ✌️💜

Thank you, when he fell, I still did not understand his sight. I could see he was blind inside my house but outside his pupils look normal and he had been on the dock 2 or 3 times with me. What I think is he does not have depth perception. Bless you for working with blind cats.
