Secret tip: if you ever get your hand on ODK Echo, HB Sauce Montan Madness, and/or Wax-Planet Obsidian or Assassin, try and test them. By far the best waxes I tried when it comes to anvisible i crease in finish. Not sure if that really is „gloss“ or just a change in light reflections, but would be really good candidates. Thanks for the test, very thourough and conclusive!

Excellent comparison, informed and interesting. Well done that person! For me, without a shadow of doubt , Simoniz Quickshine Detailer is head, shoulders and feather cap above anything else. It’s absolutely brilliant. Detailing sceptics will be won over. Trust me on this. Wilko’s is selling 500ml bottles for £4.50, the cheapest price in the country. If that wasn’t enough to convince you it’s now been reduced down to £2.25. That’s virtually free.! They even gave you a full refund if not satisfied. You couldn’t get vexed if you wanted too!The product was recommended to me from a passionate, knowledgeable local car detailer. Happy Days!

Jon, you really put gloss readings into perspective with your work; Job well done. You showed mathematically, how good and how close each of these products really is to each other. Especially since the difference between the top and bottom products on the list was just 5 points; let me explain. We have to remember the human eye can’t even see the difference in gloss when the change is less than 8-10-points from the baseline reading. So, looking at Griots, for example, the total of six readings changed by 6 points, so when you divide the 6-point total by the 6 tests, you end up with a net change in the gloss of 1-point; basically, it’s invisible to us. When you look at your top test, TAC systems, which had 12 points from six tests, and then divide by six, the average is only 2 points from the baseline. The top product was +2 and the lowest was -3. I love it because we all feel the product after we put it on our cars to gauge the slickness, but we still can’t see the difference in the gloss. Basically, you can’t go wrong with any of these for gloss and it comes down to personal preference. On the opposite side of the coin is durability and that we have learned is very different in the products you displayed. And finally, the cost can now be weighted greater in our decision process because the products are, for all intents and purposes the same to the human eye. In this business you have to be real about expenses and the products you choose will reflect on your reputation which is how we get loyal customers and referrals. So, since the products are all about the same in gloss, durability, is what will or will not protect your reputation and bring back repeat business and it is the cost of the product that will keep you in business.

Fantastic!! My mentor always said that the gloss is in the paint not the product. That is true but anything water based should give more gloss than solvent based as solvents can effect gloss negatively. Silica based products give a higher film build than silicones/waxes so more gloss/colour richness but many product types work well. You do great videos Jon. Always fun to wafch.

I wonder which result you would get by using the Menzerna Power lock ultimate protection. The slickness of this sealant is incredible. Give em a try

Great test comparison, I’ve used the Gyeon QD and it’s amazing for the price

Like always excellent video.... Been using Shiney Wax for a bit and really enjoy using it. But Beadmaker is still best bang for buck if buying in gallon form. Thank you and keep up the excellent work, Cheers from Montreal Canada

Awesome test Jon.. 👍🏻 I have been using bead maker lately and my eyes tells me it is a gloss monster.. might give Gyeon a go...

I knew tac systems would win. Brian from apex detail done a gloss test on this and got around 10 gu improvement.

Still when you look at the readings Jon recorded you don't see a massive variation. Post application panel was in high 80s which is so underwhelming. Something is off with this test but not sure what.

Brian has done a lot of great testing as well, I know he's very fond of most of the TAC systems products... I wish they sold their products through Amazon, their shipping cost is often a deal breaker for me when I want to try something.

SS OFFSHORE its b/c they lost their US distributor at the beginning of the year. The only way you can get their products is through Canada now. EDIT: I was wrong as of yesterday TACsystems USA is back!!! Woohoo

I use Maguire's ultimate compound and I'm wondering what's a little bit more aggressive than this ?
