Your question is rather simple, dirt's main mechanic is to be dirty at all times, no matter what you throw at it, soap, while it makes things clean, also picks up dirt and hair, making it possible for soap to get dirty. But dirt on the other hand, no matter what you do, dirt is dirty, it's where the name comes from

Run the excavator backwards, that way your tires stay stable and you can strip mine an entire claim in layers. If you set up a unloading/grinding station with a pipe dripping at the right height to refuel you can find out how much a claim is worth in total. Might need to build ramps to get in and out though, which will probably cause the machine to catapult into the ocean... But that's it's own kind of adventure I suppose.

About your question, as Chandler from F.R.I.E.N.D.S once said, "because it's soap! It's self-cleaning". So at the moment that they touch, both the dirt gets cleaned and the soap gets dirty, but as soon as you pick up the soap, the soap cleans itself and the dirt remains clean. Soap is an infinite source of cleaniness.

Since the dirt isn't a single block, it's probably both. The bits of dirt on the soap are cleaned, and the soap also gets dirty.

With your conundrum, it depends on your definition of dirty... The soap would theoretically become dirty because dirty implies it’s in a state that it’s not meant to be in. But dirt doesn’t necessarily have to be dirty, you can have clean dirt, so, it really depends on your definition of dirty

Actually I think it is both the soap get's dirty because the dirt get's on the soap but the dirt get's "cleaned" cause now there is less dirt in the dirt. Think about it if there was some way to get all the dirt on the soap then there would be no more dirt left so the ground would be "clean". So the answer is they both get proportionally cleaned and dirty respectively . The more the dirt get's cleaned the more the soap get's dirty.

When u drop a bar of soap on dirt does the bar of soap get dirty or does the dirt get clean, answer: heres the thing dirty does not refer to dirt just because it is a similar word the difference is when a substance is dirty it either has germs on it or is in a messy-ful fashion, dirt on the other hand is not dirty it does not have the specific germs in it that would make it dirty and it is not placed in a messy-ful fashion instead it is landscaped to a random shape or size..... so, when u drop a bar of soap on dirt there is nothing for it to clean nor is their anything to make the bar dirty, so the answer is the soap doesnt get dirty and the dirt doesnt get clean
