Elusive Samurai is a GREAT show and one of the best shonen I've ever seen. I love the historical background and also how it shows, mainly through his tutoring by priest Suwa Yorishige, how to retake the throne. It's not just a series of battles with overpowered MCs but it shows the strategy needed to succeed. The characters are fantastic, the illustration is beautiful, it does not flinch from the horrors of war but shows what's necessary to right wrongs, and I love the music, especially the intro and outro. This is the best!

Don't think they will get spoiled much in history class though, because Tokiyuki's life actually didn't have a very big impact on history. Even the aforementioned grave has been found only pretty recently in like. 2015 or some maybe? At best kids might have heard about him as a side note.

Hilarious thing- CGI seems to have ended up even in Apothecary Diaries during the episode where MaoMao was taking care of one of the Consorts. It seems that animation studios tend to use CGI during longer episodes that would take too long to adapt with 2D. I personally got horrified by the Apothecary Diaries CGI at first- Because while it may not be noticible, it was there and I noticed it because it looked off. They did a really great job but- It was horrifying to me.
