Went to the driving range today, widen my stance and lifted the heal, as a new golfer never carried 200 yards with a driver, although i did spray them all over the range i hit a few nice straight drives carrying over 200 yards, one happy new golfer, many thanks.

I love the lift the front heel tip. I think for many of us, this reminds us to rotate in the backswing instead of sliding back. And then when you slam the heel back down it reminds you again to rotate through the swing instead of sliding forward.

I'm a retired California Highway Patrol Officer and was an avid golfer for years, but was struck by a truck at work. I had three back surguries, and a shoulder rebuilt. Doctors said I'd never be able to play golf again. I found your channel last August, when I started playing again after nearly 10 years of not playing. All of your tips have been helpful for me as I work on getting my game back. I'm currently shooting in the 80's, and am enjoying the game again. Thanks for all the work you put into your channel.

I have tried those two tips before and they do work. Another one to add to them that might seem trivial but also has worked for me, is to turn the toe of your front foot an inch or 2 toward the fairway. It helps keep you balanced and helps with the follow through. The thing that will NOT work when I do these tips is to try to HIT the ball harder. You need to just let the increased backswing do the work and keep it smooth...like Liam did.
@gregevans99263 жыл бұрын
Staggered by this simple tip guys - i have easily gained 30-40 yards, but equally as important is how straight all of a sudden they were going. By lifting the left heel just gives you so much more room for the hips to go through and transition and the club naturally picks up speed. So much more confidence i can't tell you. Brilliant lads, cheers!!

Thank you Bry, this is a great tip, one that really works for my driver, four wood and long irons, all go not just further but straighter too! This afternoon I put a ball in a lake that had never been a hazard for me before - and I did not mind at all! I need to work on using the technique on shorter irons but I will get there. Thanks again.

I cannot wait to try this. My old stance is narrow like an iron, and I kept my left foot locked onto the ground my whole 50 years of play. I am sure this easy change will make a difference. Thank you.
@markkalinowski21803 жыл бұрын
Great, simple tip. Took some lessons from a local PGA Pro here in the states - first thing he taught me was to let that lead heel come up off the ground on the back-swing. If you do that, starting your transition to the down-swing is simple - first thing you do is plant that lead heel back into the ground (and everything else just follows). This seems to be a commonly taught practice in Europe - but not in the US. As Bry said, it is definitely something an older golfer should be doing - makes it easier on the lower back especially.
@ggaspord3 жыл бұрын
So...I watched the video yesterday and focuses on lifting the lead foot and a wider stance. I had never hit so many straight, long drives. My guess, an additional 30 yards. Can’t imagine the improvement with a 4 minute lesson! Thank you Bry and Liam.

Went to the range and tried this as it really made sense to me. Made a difference but I thought that it would never translate to the course.
